This may be one of my favorite bars I stopped into while in Bozeman for travel. I even bought a hat. The bartenders were on point and very good. I love the Cannery. The bartenders are all friendly. The drink prices are not off the charts. You can order from Burger Bob's next door and have lunch at the bar. Very standard fare. Plenty of barstools and tables to find a seat. During Bobcat games Fletch will set up a temporary bar opposite the mainstay. Not very fancy for you out of towners in there from Big Sky for the afternoon. It''s got that old school beer and peanuts smell us drinkers love so much. You can go to the Plonk. Gets pretty crowded during Bobcat games and on Friday afternoon it seems everyone in town is here. Doesn't open until after 3:00 or so on Sunday. Good to check out...... read more

Nice place to grab a few evening drinks with friends. We were visiting from out of town and the staff was accommodating and so friendly. Uvicela (hopefully I spelled that right?) was so sweet and talkative but efficient when serving our drinks. Also, they've got a few games in the back that we took advantage of while we sipped. I have walked past this place many times and it always appears busy and loud. Finally got a chance to stop in during music on main this week. It was ladies night, so drinks were 2 for 1. They let you take your drink to go, which is awesome during an event downtown! Our server was incredibly busy, but still managed to do a great job. She appeared to be the only waitress, and there was also a bartender. The poor girl was swamped! She made our experience great regardless, letting us know immediately that she would be with us as soon as she could. She was friendly and attentive, gave drink recommendations and overall made the entire experience a memorable one. Just because of her, this review gets higher stars. Tip for management: Your patrons will spend more time and money in your establishment if you have more than one staff member serving tables and taking orders. Kudos for hiring people who genuinely care, have a great attitude and do an excellent job while understaffed and overworked! Definitely a place to try for drinks and bar food! read more

The Cannery is not a bar, nor a restaurant. It's a way of life. I will never forget my first time I stepped foot inside the calming interior and became a man reborn. I met my first wife at the Cannery, granted she was a bar stool and I had been there for 11 hours, it didn't last but I'll never forget her. Every time strawberry wine hits the jukebox I think back to that night and shed a single tear. Then of course I pound a white claw and crush it on my head because at the Cannery I learned to not be a pussy. Service is outstanding, this one time I ordered a drink and they brought it to me, really impressive! Drinks come in glasses which was a pleasant surprise and all of the chairs have four legs which is a huge bonus/value in my book. If you go in just say you know the owner and you'll get treated like a king and the staff will love you. If you are served by Jane just snap your fingers a bunch at her and she'll be right over. If you order a martini in this joint you're probably an asshole so please don't talk to me. On occasion they will give away envelopes full of cash so make sure to always ask cuz they don't promote it. They also have food, I don't recommend the lobster because they don't have that but the wings are great and they make a solid burger. One thing that's cool if you order a burger you have the option of putting condiments on it which I think is a nice touch. They don't have a lot of gluten free options because they aren't tools, eating here is like getting an American flag tattoo on your face. There is a pool table on the ceiling because fuck it and the type of wallpaper I want my casket to be wrapped in. The floors don't have any holes you can fall through and the bathrooms have toilets so kudos there. I highly recommend checking out "everything is free night" hell of a deal. DO NOT punch people in this bar, that is apparently illegal. They have a TouchTunes jukebox so you can play all the Ke$ha songs your heart desires. All in all it's a great place to hang out if you have a pulse and a liver. Cheers! read more

THE BEST BAR IN BOZEMAN....If you want to get treated like shit by below average bartenders. They close early because "they serve minors"... it's not their fault... they just aren't smart enough. If you want to be offended by a solid 5, go here!! And if you want to see a solid 10, be a 16 year old who drinks here for a few hours... eventually these girls look good to anyone.... The beer is stale and the liquor is moderately priced, so there's that. As long as you get there on the right bartenders' schedule, maybe you can drink. If not, you can at least watch their fake breast's shake as they kick you out. I'll never go back. read more

This place was adorable and was exactly what we were looking for in a bar downtown, just wish we had found it earlier in the evening! This place screams country, which you don't get very often when you live in Southern CA. The people here were really nice, the bartender was a bit bitchy the second night, but it could have been b/c we showed up half hour before closing and were a wee bit in the bag. Ladies of Bozeman, look no further for your one stop shop for the Bachelor playing on the big TV & stereo system, lovely bartenders (shout out to Jane & Weezy), doubles for the $ of singles on Monday nights, and an endless supply of fried food. Came here after a major run/race in Bozeman. Granted I was willing to be patient on service, just because of the volume of people in a small town. I have been to several bars, and even been a bartender through college. I have NEVER seen bartenders this drunk. Waited 40 minutes for appetizers only to be told they "forgot" to put them in. Also wrote down our whole order of food bc the waitress could not, as she was busy dancing with the clients. Bartender making bloody Mary's and couldn't even pour the mix in, bc she kept missing the glass. My god. Major Bozeman event and they should be prepared and not completely wasted. Sorry to the owner of this bar. I'm local and I KNOW this is not how he would want things done. read more

The cannery used to be a great spot for a beer, to catch up with friends, and was one of my favorite Bozeman bars, however, there have been some serious deficiencies as of late that prompted me to write this review. Over the past few months I have observed that the staff are slow, rude and not friendly or inviting to customers; it has often taken a inordinately long time to be acknowledged for service and an even longer time to receive drinks from bar tenders who seem to spend more time gossiping with each other than paying attention to the customers needs. And if you think the bartenders are bad early in the evening you should see them as it approaches closing time!! I would most certainly not recommend The Cannery to anyone, local or visitor, and would instead recommend any of the other wonderful bars that Bozeman has to offer. read more
