This isn't so much a wine store as it is a stage for the owner's one-man show: "Let Me Tell You What You Clearly Don't Know About Wine." Want a bottle under $50 that doesn't require a thesis-level explanation? Move along, peasant. Instead, prepare to be cornered by the owner, who apparently believes that every visitor is here to be baptized in his knowledge of obscure Bordeaux vintages and his deeply spiritual trip to the Loire Valley. He'll tell you he "curates" his inventory, which is snob-speak for "doesn't stock much, but has a lot of opinions about what you should buy elsewhere." To summarize: if you want a wine store with actual wine, try literally anywhere else. If you want a lecture on terroir, tannins, and the tragic downfall of wine culture thanks to people like you, congratulations--you've found your temple.
