Craft brewpub in northern of Bozeman. It's located in a park next to a lake. It's probably the most scenic craft brewery I've been to, since you get a gorgeous view of the lake and the mountains in the distance. They also have an outdoor patio area with red Adirondack chairs, makes for nice photos. The inside is medium sized. There's the main floor bar area, and then tables are on 2nd floor loft. Some eclectic outdoors/hunting lodge type of items on the walls. Doing good business on a weekend afternoon. They have a pretty big selection of brews, with about half a dozen year around beers, and a lot more seasonal varieties. You can get a 4x4oz tasting flight which I got. Beer was pretty decent. Even the IPA wasn't overly hoppy. The food menu is classic American pub fare. I got the MAP burger which is burger with two smashed patties. Good sized burger with decent buns. I got fries for the side, and they filled the plate with fries. The fries were okay, but there's a lot of it. Overall, food was decent, and the view is great. read more

MAP Brewing Co. Is yet another Bozeman brewery I had on my map for a very long time. I was thrilled when I finally was able to try one of their beers along with Steve for the first tasting excursion with this brewery! The beer that we enjoyed was the M8. This was a lager in which you pick up notes of citrus, pine, a grainy sweetness, hoppiness and perhaps some purposeful grassy flavor. The beer has a clean and crisp finish and is nice and smooth. This is a perfect beer as the summer rolls in with waves of heat on some days. M8 is a great lager to crack open and cool off to! read more

If you only have time for one Brewery in Bozeman, this would be your spot... 1st A terrific assortment of Brew, flavors and styles. With seasonal beers and all round beers. 2nd The interior decor is fun and spacious with very high ceilings but the outdoor deck and patio is to die for. 3rd If you have little ones or a dog, you can grab your beers and bring your chairs and sit out on the lawn off the patio. Look out at the lake. 4th. They even have great food and a signature fries and gravy dish that is a local fave. That is enough of for people to share. One warning!.... Watch your feet because they for some reason have rocks sticking up out of the cement on the patio that if you're looking at the lake and not the ground you could easily trip over it or back up over it cuz it's right behind the bar. Where are you stand. I got the flight of beers cuz I couldn't decide and truly like them. All everybody love their beers Bartender was nice, wait staff was spunky and friendly. We had a lot of other places to visit in our week that we were in Bozeman so didn't make it back. Amazing!! This place has the food, the beer and the Views!!! So glad we found this spot for lunch and a drink. We ordered a couple Pretzel's served with warm queso to start paired perfectly with my Jalapeño party Mexican beer(so good and refreshing) the pretzels and queso were 10/10 for dinner I was feeling adventurous and tried their Huck Burger which was local burger topped with house-made huckleberry jam, smoked gouda, and greens tossed in lemon oil OMG amazing it was giant I took 1/2 to go but the jam paired with the cheese and arugula was so flavorful and tasty the fries on the side were hand cut fries and perfectly crispy. Constant flies were disgustingly at MAP. They really miss the mark on service too. But the views and food are so good I would still tell you to go here. The portions and taste are exactly what you want. You can get on the list online before you arrive but you may have to wait awhile depending on how many people are working that day. I found there are lots of breweries. The challenge is finding a brewery with food. Looking for a place to enjoy dinner and a craft beer Yelp was kind enough to guide me to MAP. Upon entry the feel is an open wood lodge. Merchandise by the front door followed by the bar and seating area. Opted for a seat at the bar. Service I have to say was many stars beyond five. Friendly, talkative, willing to help, even with dumb questions. I was glad to see they serve beer in 5oz as well as pints. The 5oz were perfect allowing me to try several. The one that stuck out for me was Noise Complaint a dill pickle sour. It is like drinking alcohol infused pickle juice. Yum! The plum ginger sake lager was also big hit for me. Paired with the house brat and daily Hungarian cream of mushroom soup was double yum. In all I love the friendly staff, atmosphere, BEER, and food. This is now bookmarked in Yelp for a future return. This is such a fun place! Inside is decorated with local art and outside seating enjoys the mountains and a cute little lake. We ordered burgers. We were very disappointed with the service. Most everyone was very nice but our waitress was distracted. As we waited to order we sat for five minutes watching our waitress tell her friends a story. And that was basically every time. We waited on our drinks, silverware, food. It was unfortunate because this really is a good place. Fortunately, we had been there before and had exceptional service so we will return. And avoid her. It started off slow in here when I arrived at 5:30 and I was hoping to sit with my laptop and write a few Yelp reviews as the evening progressed. As the place filled up, the hostess asked if she could move me to another table and so I moved upstairs to the loft area. I'd have done it for free as she was super nice but if you're going to comp me a beer, then I'm sold for sure. I was really hoping for a bison burger as that's what Yelp told me and that I saw on the menu. Sadly, NO BISON when I arrived on this Monday evening. We found this spot on Yelp, so really wanted to try it while visiting Bozeman. It is beautiful! Settled right next to a body of water. We were able to snag 5 chairs outside on the patio, despite us not having a reservation. Staff can take drink orders on the patio, but not food. We ordered beers and then had to wait inside in a line to get food. That was a little annoying. Our server was Haley and she rocked! The beers were great. Our food was delicious. Came for beer and a burger based on a friend's recommendation and he did not steer me wrong. Nice lookin' brewery, but not huge inside and the outdoor patio gets pretty jammed. Come early. Pretty dark inside, but the view out the patio windows cannot be beat (see photo). Sit outside if the weather is cooperating. Fairly small menu, but they have all the essentials. I had a couple of hazy IPA's which were definitely hazy, almost bordering on a weiss beer cloudiness. I loved it, but if you don't like a chewy beer... I had a bacon/bleu burger with a side of slaw (see photo). The patty was perfectly done and the bacon nice and crispy. Slaw wasn't bad either. Great spot. Wish it wasn't a 3 day drive from where I live. read more

We tend to swing by MAP almost every time we go up to Bridger for kids ski lessons on Saturdays. In the span of 3 months...we enjoyed each and any dish we picked from the menu, from their amazing burgers to the crispy chicken sandwich...sides, soups and last but best beer in town!! We don't drink so I guess that's the main reason you would come to a brewery. The location and building are very nice. So would come for location and view but lowered expectation for great food. MAP Brewing is brewery visit #236 for me, and I must say it is a cool place. Very nicely done taproom, which was quite busy at 5pm on a Friday as you would expect. It has a very friendly vibe and an awesome view of the mountains across a small lake, which was pretty frozen at the end of March. I started with a flight of four, knowing I was going to add on a fifth taster. More on that later. The Party is a Mexican style lager which unlike some of the commercial Mexican layers, **cough, Corona, cough**, doesn't need the lime wedge to make it palatable. A little sweetness but not overly so. Just a nice refreshing beer. Canyon Companion mountain IPA has a nice hop aroma and slight bitterness although YMMV of course. This is an easy drinking IPA. I ordered the Gravity Rider Marzen in honor of SWPFTD who couldn't make the trip with me. The Marzen was good and quite true to style. Malty but not sweet and with a slightly dry finish. The 80 Chain oatmeal stout was next. This had a nice roasty aroma and flavor as expected. I would have liked a little creamier mouth feel and a tad more sweetness on this one. It is definitely within the style range but I always compare oatmeal stouts to my first. You know what they say about your first! Last up, after my initial four, was the Dark Side Of The Ridge, a bourbon barrel aged vanilla imperial stout. Initially I didn't get the vanilla on this but then, WHAM, there it was at the tail end and lingering on my tongue like...well, let's just say it lingered. In a good way of course. At 10.5% this one can sneak up on you because while it certainly has lots of flavor it doesn't actually come across as a high ABV beer. I didn't have any chow while I was here but I was eyeballing the lady next to me who had a very tasty looking burger. No seriously, I was actually eyeballing her burger. No, her actual burger served by the restaurant! Stop it!!! MAP Brewing is a great spot overall. Staff was friendly, great vibe, awesome view, and the beers were very good. I even picked up a crowler of the Marzen to keep me company this evening. Sad part is the wait was an hour and they stop serving around 8- this is a Montana law about alch- look it up if you're visiting. 2 Levels to this really cool lodge looking and feeling brewery We sat upstairs in what I guess you call the loft? mezzanine? whatever. we had the whole level to ourselves pretty much which was great so that we could spread out. Mind you ... there were only 5 adults and 2 kids but we feel like more. ha! I wasn't all that hungry so I got 1 beer (Gravity Rider - (marzen)) and the brussel sprouts side and the pretzel bun. Perfect dinner for me! I wasn't too full or weighed down. Gravity Rider was great! Not too heavy or malty... nice and smooth, caramel flavors, but with a hint of a bite just to keep it interesting. 6% ABV so it won't knock you down. The brussel sprouts... oh the brussel sprouts! So Damn Good! I'm just going to copy what the menu says so I don't forget something: "Brussels sprouts, golden raisin, brown butter almonds, 80 Chain & brown sugar crème fraiche, and green onions." Oh... and I added Bacon because why not? This dish should be shared because it's quite sizeable. But I ate it as my main entree..... and there were still leftovers. It was delightful! I want to try to make this dish at home. I know it won't be as good but I'm going to try. The fam ordered a bunch of other stuff on the menu and they enjoyed all of it.
