Expensive. Great experience, delicious and fun interaction with staff and other guests

Izakaya was the best food experience I've ever had and probably one of the top 10 experiences I've had in general. The kitchen staff was engaged and helpful (Paul, Maddi, and Trevor were amazing, but also shout out to the rest of the kitchen), and the food was out of this world. Paul obviously cares deeply about his craft and made sure we knew what we were eating and where on the fish it came from, and it was really cool to watch him work right in front of us (especially given the fact that the sushi was out-of-this-world). Trevor was super fun and kept everyone engaged through the whole night while also making sure we were supplied on anything we needed - not to mention he is an impressive force in the kitchen and everything they brought out was great. Maddi was also incredible and made the best mocktails I've ever had (and it's not even close) - each of them was innovative and delicious. The food itself was amazing and there wasn't a single course that I disliked. It's near impossible to pick a favorite because they all felt like stand-outs. I am traveling for the summer so I booked a solo reservation and they treated me like family and made sure that I was never bored or left out. Montana is a beautiful place with lots to do and still Izakaya's omakase experience is near the top of my list. Simply put.....the best omakase I've ever had in my life. It was also the first omakase I ever had back in around 2017 or 2018 I think. It started my obsession with this cuisine and experience and since then I've tried spots all over the world, some at ludicrous price points. But all signs lead back to Bozeman. It is consistently superb every single time I return and still unequivocally holds my top spot as best ever. Paul puts so much love into his craft and you can see it while he prepares the perfectly balanced nigiri in front of you. I've also had some great laughs and times with the entire staff. It's at the top of my list for things I look forward to when I come to Bozeman. Can't wait to get back again. And if you're in the area, head over there yesterday. read more

Absolutely 10 stars! Would highly recommend. Some of the best Nigiri I have ever had which is crazy that it's in Bozeman. Fantastic service all around- Paul is very creative and unique with his dishes. Everyone was friendly and attentive. To top if off the pistachio ice cream to finish was delicious... I was even given a pint to take home after I raved about it. Can't wait to return! read more

I keep showing up too late for Chef Paul's full tasting menu, But the 3 appetizers I have had so far, are absolutely amazing. Perfect beef kabobs, crispy fried chicken, and super fresh Eel rolls. I can't wait for an entire Omakase! Super friendly, and welcoming staff! read more
