I've tried every Thai restaurant in Bozeman and Khanom Thai is easy the best and my new go-to spot when I'm craving Thai food. It's tucked away by the Hop Lounge off of Huffine and easy to find parking. The ambiance is excellent with cozy mood lighting, roses and great music. It's perfect for a date night, casual dinner or just takeout. Servers were attentive and service was excellent. Most importantly, the food is fantastic! The menu is huge with tons of options including a unique variety of warm and cold beverages. I tried the tofu pad Thai, which is my favorite dish, because I think you can tell a lot by a restaurant based on the pad Thai. The dish was classic- traditional toppings, perfect flavor and no crazy frills. Just a perfect plate of pad Thai! I ordered a 2 on the spice scale and it was perfect; just a hint of spice and I could tell that a 4 or 5 would have blown me away. I'm looking forward to trying one of the delicious curries at my next visit.

Thai restaurant in the Barn District half way between Four Corners and Bozeman. Medium sized interior. Doing good business on a weekend night. We got a table without a wait, but they were people waiting when we were done eating. Menu got the standard North America Thai restaurant selection but also has a few items I haven't seen. Got the Thai Ice Tea slushie and that was decent. For entree, I got the namya pou curry which is a spicy seafood curry with rice noodles. Has some heat but not too bad. Very flavorful with the coconut and creamy savoriness. No complaints about the taste, but 3 stars because the portion was pretty small. The price wasn't expensive, but it was the smallest portion entree I've gotten from a Thai restaurant in the US. Needed to get more food afterwards.

Roti gang with beef in a curry base, fabulous!

UNBELIEVABLE! One of the best Thai restaurants in the US and located in Bozeman, Montana. KHANOM THAI is a true gem, must try, delivering huge tasty flavor bombs. Hands down, one of my top 3 Thai restaurants ever. This cute, simple and clean space is located in a non-assuming building. The young staff is engaging, smiling and more than interested in your positive experience and dining pleasure. We needed to have more people join us so we can try more options. Selections here are not easy, it all looks good and my stomach is only so big. We started with the roti gang with beef in a mild curry. The roti is a mop to soak up the delicious sauce and wrap around the beef. An incredible dish. The Pad Thai has rice noodles, sauce, red onions, mung beans, chive, fried egg, peanuts and chicken. The sauce was generous, savory, scrumptious and not runny. One of my top three Pad Thai meals ever. Our final selection was the ground bison with spicy fried basil sauce, fried egg, rice and crispy basil leaves. Unique, tasty and remarkable! I can't say enough about this delightful find, Khanom Thai, open only three months. The value here is huge for the portion size. They will need a bigger space once the sunshine exposes this gem in the Montana wilderness. To the owners and staff, GREAT JOB AND SCRUMPTIOUS FOOD! I can't wait to return and we may hit again before we returned home. Thank you for a simply delicious dinner.

The food here is super yum! The service is fast and friendly. The ambience is chill with nice music playing in the background. We came in a large group and everyone's appetizers and mains were visually appealing and tasty. I highly recommend this place!

We sat at the kitchen bar (there are two bar areas) and noticed how chill the kitchen staff were moving around and working for such a packed house. Our server guided us through the menu and we chose 3 plates (Napa cabbage, smoked pork jowl, green curry with local beef) and it was the perfect amount of food and spice. Quality ingredients, but as mentioned a tad salty and heavy on the mala numbing spice. Parking was easy in the shared lot, and we were able to get bar seating at opening. Food- 4.5 stars bison mapo tofu- this was excellent. definitely order rice with this dish and be aware of the extra mala numbing spice on it lamb dumplings- this was pretty standard but tasted fresh and housemade Beijing cucumber salad- this was pretty standard but tasted fresh and housemade Dan dan noodles- pretty good Lazi-ji chicken wings- these were perfectly fried and the wings were juicy and fresh. It also was overwhelmingly spicy though, so be careful Sticky tamarind ribs- these were phenomenal. Best dish of the night and I would come back for it Tres leches cake- pretty good way to end the night Service- 4.5 stars Food came out quickly and the servers and bartenders were really attentive. Only hiccup was that the waiter forgot to put in one of our orders which caused a long delay Bottom Line Excellent Asian restaurant especially if you're craving Asian flavors. Mateo was our server and he was so nice! I thought the prices here were a bit high but the serving sizes and also that the salad bar is included really sold me. The Thai tea was rich in flavor, tom Kai soup was amazing and we loved the mushrooms they use. We ordered our soup at a 1 spicy level and it goes all the way to 5!! I probably could've handled a 2 but I can't imagine what 5 is. LOL The mango sticky rice was also yummy. We shared the soup and mango and there is still leftovers of the soup. The mango sticky rice didn't stand a chance. THANKS Thai Basil. I'll definitely be back. Oh and they also have a separate side just for to go orders and both sides were busy, but our food came out fairly quickly.

Mixed Experience with the Chicken Strips I stopped by Thai…read moreBasil recently for a quick dine-in lunch and had a pretty unusual experience with one of their appetizers. I ordered the chicken strips off the appetizer menu. When they arrived, I was surprised to see they were deep-fried with the skin still on -- and quite a few feather follicles were visibly left on the skin. It was definitely a bit jarring and made the dish feel less polished than expected. The flavor was okay (the seasoning and frying gave it a decent crunch), but the presentation and preparation took away from the enjoyment. On the positive side, Thai Basil offers a free salad bar for dine-in customers, which is a nice touch. It's a good way to start the meal or round it out with fresh veggies, and it added some value to the visit. Overall, the service was friendly and the salad bar was a highlight, but the chicken strips were a miss due to the quality control issues with the skin and feathers. I'd probably try other items on the menu next time (their Thai classics looked popular with other tables) rather than repeat the appetizer.

We drive by Pho Sai Gon and I told my husband to turn around and go back. Pho Sai Gon is in a building among other businesses and is bigger on the inside than it appears to be (sort of like the tardis...). There was a short line at the host stand, which I didn't mind until the hostess forgot to come back for us as she had promised after she sat the couple in front of us. Twenty minutes later and we were in the front of a line that surpassed the door. The hostess finally came back and apologized, admitting that she forgot about us...and the line that grew after us. The decor is simple and there were pantry items in the middle of the restaurant that I'm assuming were either for sale or perhaps the kitchen is tiny (?). The hostess ended up also being our server. It was the middle of a work week and an odd meal time (2pm), so the restaurant wasn't that busy. For my entree, I ordered the chicken pho. It was good/pretty standard pho. My husband ordered the broken rice with chicken and beef. He thought it was subpar as his beef was room temperature. All in all, a solid 3-star experience that served the purpose of warming me up.
