We decided to check out Thai Basil for lunch after a hectic day. We were ravenous and luckily the food was served very fast. The ambience was simple but clean. They have a salad and fruit bar that they encourage you to check out before eating your meal. While we waited for our food, we tried the different fruits and veggies they had on display. We ordered the deep fried spring rolls (mini but yummy), Panang curry (insanely delicious and was my second favorite of the night), stir fry with tofu (was shocking delicious), spicy basil fried rice (I haven't had rice better than this and this was the main highlight of the meal for me), and drunken noodles (the less spicy ones were too bland, go up your usual spice level) and some Thai tea. The portion sizes were huge, we should have sized down. The server was friendly and fast. Overall, a nice casual place for getting lunch or dinner.

Spicy Basil Noodles

We ordered DoorDash from Thai Basil last night and got the red curry and the spicy basil noodles. The red curry was good, but the spicy basil noodles were really disappointing. There were almost no vegetables at all, just a large wad of rice noodles for $25. We counted maybe three thin carrot slivers, two small pieces of red pepper, and one mushroom in the entire dish. Thai Basil used to be a go-to, but this order felt like a noticeable drop in quality, especially for the price.

It's been a minute since I have had Pho and Thai Basil did not disappoint! Need a big bowl of love? This is the place. The beef pho had an unreal broth and plenty of meat to savor your taste buds. Service was friendly and great. Plenty of great options on the menu including lunch specials. Entrees come with the salad bar to start as well. I can't wait to come back!

Located in a strip mall near the shopping center, Thai Basil offers a spacious and tidy interior, beautifully decorated with wax paintings featuring western and wildlife themes. Our large family came in for a casual sit down lunch. The menu is extensive, providing a wide array of options and everyone was able to find something to their liking. Despite not all authentic, everyone's food was pleasant. Another plus was the salad bar which was complimentary. The sweet potato fries and fried bananas were some delicious surprises beyond normal salad item. The service was friendly and efficient. When we noticed a stain on one of our water glasses, the server promptly replaced it. Additionally, the staff was very accommodating of our gluten-free and dairy-free dietary needs. Despite the restaurant filling up quickly during the weekend lunch rush, our food was served quickly and the portions were enormous--we all had leftovers for another meal! Note that they do not serve lunch specials on weekends, therefore we ordered dinner sizes.

We were very surprised by the attention in authentic Thai flavors. They ship a lot of their ingredients for Thailand. Our fav was the pork udon broth. It was rich and has sweetness to it. Loved that they were generous with the cilantro. It surprisingly had dumplings also. The Thai tea was not very strong but very delicious. Spicy BBQ had a balanced ratio of veggies and meet. The beef was a little tough to chew but sooo good. The rice was not as fluffy and was a bit on the drier side. But it paired with the Spicy Bbq sauce perfectly. We ordered the Spicy Bbq with 4/5 spice level and we agreed it tasted around a medium heat Emily served us really well and was very attentive. They didn't readily offer chopsticks but they were quick to bring us any utensil we needed. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend this place.

Free salad bar with spring rolls was a nice touch, the spring rolls (the crispy kind) were quite good. The chicken satay was more like chicken tenders but still tasty. The noodles were solid, though nothing that made them stand out compared to other places. Good portion size, we all took some leftovers to go (for our first night camping...).

This place is actually pretty good and authentic and def worth my review. Initially we visited from L.A and always hesitant with the asian food in other states doesn't not match up with ours (arrogant as always lol), but after trying this place I was pretty impressed as I ordered the spicy basil chicken with onions and pepper, it was authentic, portion was good and they gave you a salad bar which is always a plus. So for this Montanian Thai good I would def five it a go and it was a nice atmosphere and they seated us right and great service! So if you're from out of town, this place is def the joint to hit up.

I liked that they have a self-serve salad bar with decent options. Drunken Noodle was just OK. Likely won't try again.

Snow is lightly falling and the ambiance of Main St is straight out of a cool western movie sets. We slipped into Sweet Chili Asian Bistro after searching the web for a close by Thai restaurant. The interior was well decorated and only one other party of 4 was present, a concern! We were quickly seated and ordered the fried calimari and green curry with chicken, one of their featured dishes. The food arrived quickly and was warm. The calimari was lightly battered with a good exterior crunchy and a delicious plum like sauce. The green curry with chicken, carrot, zucchini and chopped tomatoes quickly followed. For being a featured dish, I found the green curry bland, watery and lacking flavor. For me curry sauce has a rich coconut milk taste and flavor. The sauce here was loose, and runny. Sweet Chili Asian Bistro has a great location, nice interior decor but the food here is not on par. When I think of Thai food, my taste buds begin to dance and salivary gland are purged to explodes. This experience was fine but I know their are additional options to try in the mountain of Bozeman.

The food were diverse from curry, dumplings, steak, egg plants, duck soup, mapo tofu, etc (clearly the chef knew his Asian culture) The staff were amazing and kind. The food looks and taste well prepared but I have always feel odd about it, as if the flavors are not always exactly right. It feels like something is missing. It's almost like one small ingredient is not there, so the dish is not quite the same as the real version. They also experiment with new dishes which is a huge plus, so expect a different menu every so often.

This place has a terrible parking situation and was virtually empty when we arrived, but our server still managed to be MIA almost the entire time we were there. The chicken pho was too salty--and believe us when we say that it takes a lot for us to say as much. However, it was flavorful and there was a decent amount of meat. Our daughter opted for the beef pho with rare flank, and that was also pretty tasty with a rich broth that you could really taste the meat in. (Sidebar: we have been to dozens of pho restaurants in our lives and they always--always!--have a kid's pho option. Not here though! So we had to order her a portion that was three times what she would normally eat and three times the price as well.) The chicken broken rice dish was fine with its grilled meat, perfectly regular rice, and veggies. Nothing special, but it was what it needed to be. We got a couple boba teas for dessert and the canteloupe slushee was so sweet that it was gross, and the taro smoothie ended up being pure liquid because all the ice had melted. It wasn't very good. We almost feel like we can't complain because this is the only pho place in Bozeman, Montana, and we were lucky that there was even one! And the soup was pretty passable. So, three stars, as expected.

It's a popular place, judging by their tables almost always being full. There are a lot of choices. One think I really appreciated was how they clearly label, on the menu, what fish is farmed (and where it's from) as well as whether it's line-caught. The rolls have interesting names that don't really describe what's in the roll, but they're memorable and fun to read. For example, you might not know that the David Hasselhoff roll is: Crab, avocado, mango, and tempura fried jalapeño. Topped with hamachi, cilantro aioli, fresh squeezed lime juice, and green onions. There are other rolls, like the Carmen Elektra, and the Jack Sparrow. Regardless of what you order, you'll enjoy it. We ended up having a couple different Nigiri, Masago (a mix of 3 different roe), and four rolls. We started with Christmas Showers, which was interesting. The roe on top was bright red and very spicy hot, with habanero mixed in. After that roll, we had S'happenin', the specialty roll of the night (I don't remember the name), and finished with another Christmas Showers. The rolls are larger than most places I've been. They're all delicious, and the servers are friendly and helpful. If you get overwhelmed with the choices, the servers will happily pick for you. If you can't tell, I will definitely be back next time in Bozeman.

Yo Poké Fusion - BYO Large Build Your Own Bowl - but oh so small.

It's okay for being the only easily accesible poke shop in town…read more I mean, we keep coming back so it's obviously not terrible but it's also extremely inconsistent. I actually held off on writing this review until our after our fourth visit to make a fair judgement. Yo Poke is a good option if you're looking for a quick and easy meal. The quality of the fish is on the mid-level of good and the ingredients are typically fresh. As for the store itself, it's kept very clean and there are a several tables and chairs if you choose to sit and eat. We've visited on a few occasions now and the staff has been friendly every single time. The biggest problem lies in consistency. On two out of four visits, we received poke bowls that were so sad looking with 6 or 7 little cubes of fish. On the other two visits, we were served a portion that looks like most other restaurants offer. (I've been BYO poke restaurants in several states). At this point, we watch the person building our bowls getting a tiny half scoop of protein, usually fish, or a full one. It's very interesting to me how the servings can come out so different even though they literally use the same scooper...just fill that tiny little thing up and let's call it a day. To be honest, a full scoop versus a half scoop usually determines a generous tip or a "this is just to be nice" one. The food itself is usually pretty tasty, no complaints on that front. Here is one of my favorite BYO combos: + Sushi Rice + Proteins: Tuna & Salmon + Mix-ins: White & Green Onions. + Sauces: Shoyu & Wasabi Mayo. + Sides: Edamame, Surimi Salad, Ginger & Avocado + Toppings: Sesame Oil, Tempura Flakes & Furikake If you try it, let me know what you think! Oh, one more thing! Don't try to order from GrubHub. I've tried to order delivery 3 times and my order was delayed by more than 2 hours every single time before it got canceled!

The look is nothing special, but it does seem to be appropriate for this kind of restaurant. The food was remarkably medium. I would have liked to see some suggested poke bowls on the menu rather than leaving my bowl to my suggestions. The fish seemed pretty fresh, and the vegetables were crisp. While it wasn't bad, it didn't seem to rise to "good" either. I also had the miso soup, which was lukewarm and came from a machine (it looked like the hot chocolate machines that were once ubiquitous). It had no particular taste and featured lumps of tofu and a garnish of wakame. The soup wasn't even medium, and having it served in disposable bowls with plastic spoons made it less apealing. At $26, this meal wasn't worth it. Of course, the management has the payment device throwing on tip options so that you can tip a staff that looks inconvenienced by your presence and well before you taste the food (sorry, this is stupid tipping). This place needs some quality control on the food, better ideas for bowls, and a little bit of joy from the employees. An expensive downer.
