I used to LOVE this place. But they've increased prices and the quality has gone down hill. Last nights order was completely terrible. If I'm going to pay $20+ for noodles and extra $ for shrimp then maybe give me more than 2 shrimp and don't burn the noodles. I asked for 3 spice on all (but the curry), and it was so spicy, all of us were coughing and getting more water. The Tom Yum mushroom usually has amazing mushrooms but this one had like 5 slices of button mushroom and a ton of chunks of tomato. The pad Thai had burned noodles, no veggies, and maybe 4 little chunks of chicken. The curry was the only thing that didn't disappoint. But the rest was overcooked, overspiced, oily, nonsense. Food are reasonable prices. But most of the foods are really salty. Perhaps may be too much sauce. Almost every times we here , we've trouble with the food, don't get me wrong. Only my complaints is too salty almost every items we have. The services are great! Nice and comfortable seating. I found Thai Basil on DoorDash (did pickup) and ordered drunken noodles (veggie), panang curry with tofu, and mushroom tom kha soup. Everything was DELICIOUS, spice levels were on point, and I especially loved the fried tofu in the curry. We went to the Big Sky (new) location. Service was great, but we got there before 6pm and sat right away. The restaurant was overflowing by the time we left. The food was Amazing! The Tiger Bombs (ie. Crab Rangoonish) were the best I have ever had. The Papaya salad was delish. My husband also had the Thai Basil stir fry, it was very good. It could be because I have been traveling through rural Iowa and the Dakotas and not getting my fresh vegetables so my body was craving this, but it was so delicious. The green curry was subtly spiced and hot but not too (they didn't ask me for a number). I have continued to give this place "one" more chance, but no more. On this recent and final attempt, here are the ways I was dissatisfied: 1. I paid for an extra order of rice and didn't get it 2. There was barely any sauce in my Fried Spicy 3. The portions were skimpy 4. The satay was horrible - breaded and fried, and fat chunks instead of grilled or pan-fried skewers with no breading...extremely inauthentic 4. They've disallowed special requests, so I had to pick out mushrooms by hand and waste them, instead of having the restaurant just not add them. Before this, I also once had a server enclose a nasty note with my food, for requesting added vegetables - no joke. Trying to figure out why people hype this place up so much. I ordered on door dash. I ordered the pad see ew, deep fried dumplings, and a Thai iced tea. The pad see ew is bland, no flavor at all, and they use stringy noodles instead of wide rice noodles like pad see ew is traditionally made with. The deep fried dumplings also have no flavor, just a soggy mushy thing. Thai iced tea is good. I am beyond disappointed In the food, and so upset I spent as much I did. Coming back from a long day of skiing and craving Thai. Unfortunately my friend ordered and after he placed the order I called back to change the pad see ew for a drunken noodles and Panang curry which had much more favorable reviews on Yelp. When I showed up Kate the manager did not allow for the change and state she did not authorize. Got home and opened the bags and there was no Panang curry and had to call again with the missing item. Overall the food was good and liked the fried rice over the noodles. This is probably some of the best and most authentic Thai cuisine I've ever had. The food is amazing! The ONE server that was working tonight, Kate, was phenomenal. She was working over 13 tables at once and all by herself. There was one host/busser working and 3 obnoxious girls behind the front counter fooling around. I would say that i understand there is a workforce shortage due to ongoing unemployment benefits but they clearly had the staff - management just wasn't utilizing them. When i came in, there was one gentleman who was asking for his to go order and had been waiting over an hour - meanwhile it had been ready and waiting but the 3 girls behind the counter were too busy fooling around on their cell phones, chowing down on their own dinner and gossiping to have noticed. Sadly i wasn't able to order the bottle of wine from the menu because the management hasn't stocked the bar. Get it together, get rid of those waste of payroll girls up front and give your ONE server a raise. To the kitchen staff: A+! read more

We eat a lot of Thai, and I'm not absolutely certain that they can say they are completely authentic Thai food vendors. For instance, portions are large and recipes have been Americanized. Pho strictly speaking isn't Thai and I'm not sure the Vietnamese put beef meatballs in theirs. Fortunately, I LOVE meatballs in my pho and we loved Thai Basil!! Wasn't really looking for Thai food but saw this place and figured why not. I entered and not sure if it's because it was Friday or what but it was packed. Usually a good sign on the quality of food. At first I was disappointed because all of the waiters and waitresses were white. Honestly the worst Thai food I've had. I had delivery. If I would have been in the restaurant I would have returned everything. The massaman curry had all the chunks of potato completely raw and uncooked. I actually prefer a potato under cooked and not mushy but this was hard an uneatable. Additionally the portion of chicken was really ridiculous. 4 small slivers. LOL. Now I know why they want you to pay an additional $5 for "extra protein". This protein issued carried over into the next dish, Pad Thai. This pad Thai was dumped in the box and was so dry. Like not enough sauce at all. We've been going here since they opened and sadly this place has gone downhill in quality and customer service. Last night will be the last time we give them business. We ordered beef pad Thai for $17 and there was 2 pieces of tough beef, a lime wedge, some peanuts and rice noodles. No spice or much flavor. No onions or other veggies. It was honestly pathetic. Honestly this place is great. I have had better luck with food quality when dining in as opposed to ordering take out. Its a little on the pricey side but still worth it in my opinion. The Tom Ka soup was so delicious and I love their Thai Tea. When dining inside there is also a nice little salad and fruit bar available with ordering of a meal comes included. These guys killed it! Uber eats Pad Thai and Tiger Bombs. Pad Thai thin noodles with beef and lvl3 spicy. To my surprise there was plenty of protein and peanut garnish. We were visiting in town, staying for one night at a nearby RV Park. We ordered thru Pad Woon Sen and Masaman Curry thru Doordash. The curry didn't have a single peanut. Maybe they make this dish different in Bozeman, but it definitely says peanut on their menu. We also asked for soft (not fried) tofu, but they failed at that too. We ordered the Pad Woon Sen as vegan with no protein; only vegetables. It came with chicken and eggs and minimal vegetables. Wondering why a restaurant would offer vegan options when they don't understand the concept. On the only positive note, the Doordash delivery was perfect, even to a RV Park. Spicy Thai bison stir fry? Only in Montana. But it was delicious, very tasty sauce, lots of good veggies, and just the right amount of spice. The lunch specials are a good deal, too. My only complaint is the egg rolls served w/ the lunch specials- they're just filled w/ rice noodles. No pork or veggies. A little too much carb-on-carb for me. Well, I'll start with the good points. The veggie spring rolls were actually pretty good and not all breading. I could taste and identify the veggies inside. However, I asked the girl that took my order if they were all breading or not and she said sorta. I took my chances and glad I did. This was a theme. Could have been spicier (they said it's made at a level4 out of 5 but I'd give it a 2) my complaint is that there was maybe 3 small pieces of zucchini and a ton of carrots! Like almost all carrots! A few pieces of red bell pepper and also a ton of sauce! Can't complain about a lot of sauce but for $20 I would have liked more veggies and shrimp (and rice) to be able to enjoy all that sauce. I had two servings and I still had half a container full of sauce left! Wasteful. Also, I was told the wait was 25mins but after 15mins I went back inside and she called me like they had been looking for me and it had been ready! Thai Basil has a varied menu with your choice of spice from 0-5. I had the rice noodle stir fry with veggies and beef. Too many noodles for the amount of veggies and beef, but very tasty. An unexpected bonus was a salad bar with spring rolls and other sides included in the cost of the lunch. Also as a bonus, they had a small, but excellent wine selection with Prosecco as a choice. This light, sparkled wine went well with the dish. I chose "2" for my spice number and that was perfect. The service was excellent. The place is clean, bright, and inviting.
