Portions are huge, and the lunch special is a great deal. The vegetables were really good, and I especially liked their celery dish. All of the meats are fried, which isn't really my preference. The almond pork was probably my least favorite; it mostly just tasted savory, and the sauce was quite thick. Still, the portions and value make it a solid option overall. read more

DO NOT order the crab won tons! There is no crab in them! Only what looks like a pinpoint piece in the whole thing. What's worse when I pointed out to the manager that they should call them cream cheese and not crab because there's no crab in them she argued with me about it. I'm a big fan of some of their food, but not that. It's false advertising as there is no crab in the wontons. And also the chicken sticks are not chicken on a stick. They are very thin chicken wings with almost no meat on them.. I believe we'll get our Chinese fix in Bozeman from now on. read more

Got Kung Pow chicken. Best I've had in a while. Chicken is NOT fried, portions are generous and spices are spot on. Don't miss out on getting a great meal here!!! read more

This place was a little tricky to find since the signage outside still indicates it's the Stockman Bar, but I was pleased with my meal and overall experience. Service was fast and friendly. The menu has everything you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant, and the good was good. Prices are reasonable. read more

the lunch specials can't be beat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great food, they handle my food allergies perfectly. If you have wheat allergy, I recommend snow peas vegetable chicken.

I'm a sucker for a local, hole-in-the-wall, Chinese restaurant and I've lost track of how many I've tried during my travels, some with others and many by myself (Mrs. Baker's high standards and desire not to face Death any sooner than necessary keep her away from most of them). Often I'm pleasantly surprised, but more often I'm so disappointed that I have to ask myself why I punish my taste buds with such mediocre fare. Nonetheless, an unknown Chinese restaurant, however off-putting the exterior (or even the interior), is not unlike a fortune cookie or even Forest Gino's box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. As for The Wok in Livingston, I really did pretty much know what I was going to get and I got it. Very mediocre Chinese food (the hot and sour soup was the one exception on the side of good), but plenty of it. I was a tad worried when I walked in at around :530 on a Friday evening and there was no one, other than the owners, anywhere to be seen. Luckily, the owners were nice, the decor and tables were clean enough, and the food was delivered promptly and hot. If only there had been some taste to it all. I'll probably go again (sans Mrs. B). There just aren't very many Chinese food restaurants in Montana. (Sigh) read more

This Livingston gem has basic delicious Chinese food for dine in or takeout. The ambiance is fine for lunch and it's often uncrowded. I prefer to get takeout - it always seems like a real treat and the quality is good. read more

Livingston is a pretty tiny town. I am from Cali, so we are spoiled with flavorful food, so I see things with food/flavors differently. My order was a total of $58, wow, but I did order alot. I ordered the crab puffs, wok chow mien, shrimp friend rice and sesame chicken. The crab puffs were yummy, fried rice was tasty but salty, chow mien was blah, sesame chicken had a spice but not much flavor. Maybe try a bigger city like Bozeman for Chinese food? read more

Family owned business! Food is not the best in the world but very friendly staff, and very speedy service! read more

Restaurant needs updating really bad, menus are torn and tattered. One waitress handling all the orders, etc. The Shrimp Fried Rice was excellent, very tasty. The Pineapple Chicken was superb Service was very good The only suggestion to the restaurant is the plates don't keep the food very warm. Had my plate reheated and it was cold after 2 minutes read more

We were there on a late Tuesday afternoon, so we were the only customers except for the frequent carry out orders. So our service was fast, our food fresh and tasty. We were trying to order so that we didn't have leftovers to take home, and still get a variety. The server was told of my shellfish allergy and was willing to make substitutions if we got the combo meals. We ended up ordering a bowl of hot and sour soup to share. It really was good - the right balance of hot vs sour. We also got the appetizer platter - egg roll, chicken, cheese puff and pork. Everything was good - to me the pork was a little dry and under seasoned. Then we ordered the orange chicken with pork fried rice. The chicken was perfectly cooked- nice and crispy! The sauce was a surprise - not the dark orange we usually see, but obviously made with real orange. The menu showed it as a spicy dish, but it was not. It was still good. The pork fried rice was decent but seemed a little dry to me. So this is really a 4.5 rating, but the service pushed it to a 5-star. read more

Closed down I was passing through town and wanted to get some good Chinese food, but unfortunately they're storefront is empty and they are closed read more

Horrific food! The chicken had been fried so many times it was not chewable. The place is nasty dirty and suspicious that they have seating and don't allow you to eat there. They make you take out. Probably so you don't see what's going on in that kitchen read more

This is a small, family owned authentic Chinese restaurant. The food was served hot and the portions are generous. I ordered Kung Pao chicken and it was delicious! It did have a healthy dose of celery (too much for my liking but of course that's subjective ) my husband ordered the General Tso's Chicken and it was fabulous! My mom got the Broccoli and chicken, again it was flavorful and appealing. Since it is family run, expect a little longer of a wait but so worth it! I'd definitely go back and my parents who live nearby have frequented this place for years. The grandma cleaned the table next to us and she did a better job than anyone ever has at a restaurant. Five stars in my opinion! read more

We were in town for the spartan race and needed a place to get some food. Highly recommend. The service is incredible and the food is even better. read more

There really aren't too many Chinese choices out in Montana. We went with this one since it's within five miles of our hotel. The Wok is owned by a Cantonese man and they basically serve Americanized Chinese food. We had the shrimp with assorted vegetable, seafood soup with egg, and noodles with mushrooms and pork. The entrees came with a big bowl of rice for sharing. The rice was a bit dry though. Nothing really stood out other than the fact, these are not the typical authentic Chinese dishes usually served. My visiting friends from Shanghai found them tolerable because the flavors were light and not too oily. Our bill came out to approximately $50 before tip. read more

The Wok - Sweet + Sour Chicken and Sesame Chicken with Fried Rice. - Chinese Near Me - Livingston, Montana

Got the Szechuan beef and General Tso's chicken. Very good! Authentic! Generous portions and quick service.

Absolutely pathetic! Ordered their Sesame Chicken, no flavor, bland and the sesames come on the side in a little container! Husband ordered Chicken Chow Mein and he had the same complaint, bland and mostly celery and onions, very few Chinese peas, and less than a handful of sprouts! I should have gotten the hint upon entering! The place needs a good cleaning as well, can't imagine what the kitchen looks like! Won't be returning to this establishment! read more

The food was above average and ready when they said it would be ready. There isn't a Chinatown in Montana to compare it to, but we enjoyed our dinner. read more

Tasty Chinese food! Good service! Not terribly busy when visiting with my family on a weekend evening. Would recommend!

They are pickup only right now so had to just come up with standard standbys of what we get elsewhere. The food was ready quickly and had good portions (rice). Wish I could have seen a menu but not online so you get what you get. All and all it was good. I ordered General Tsu and was tasty, my daughter got sweet and sour chicken. Loads of sweet and sour in the bag, a welcome surprise. Also included was a hot pepper sauce. Yowza! Crab puffs were pretty standard, no complaints. Wish we had ordered from them sooner, good price and good food. And open for business. read more

I called in a pick up order, granted it was a big order, when i called to inform them i was missing something i was told i was wrong, yelled at and told that she put it together. I paid 90$ for a dinner for my family and was missing a chow-main and a bowl of egg drop soup, how hard would it have been to just get me my food or my money. I am a very irritated customer. Will not be going back. read more

So disappointed, your better off driving to Bozeman to eat Panda Express. Mushy Orange chicken, had one bite and tossed it.

Traveling through and trying to enjoy and delicious plant based (no animal products) meal is difficult especially in Montana. This place was so incredibly delicious and fresh, with lots of plant based options. So so yummy! We'll be stopping here anytime we're in the area! read more

As a Chinese person, I can tell that this restaurant has tried its best to make authentic food and they kinda did a great job. We ordered Cha-shew, tofu and Szechuan beef and they were all good. The only thing is that there were only two people serving for the whole place so you kinda have to wait a little bit for everything. Otherwise, I recommend it! read more

Eggplant beef is my absolute favorite menu item! We always order for pickup and the food is fast, fresh, and really delicious. I love it!

On our way from Yellowstone to Billings, we stopped here for food. I found this gem on Yelp. The food we order was great. We got some egg rolls, egg flower soup, the Buddha's delight dish, and pan fried noodle with veggies (we are vegetarians). All really delish. Also, all of the food came to our table pretty quick and fast. As we told them we wanted to get back on the road to get to Billings at a decent hour. Which they obliged and delivered! If you are in the area, I highly recommend this place. Being a big foodie living in the San Francisco area, I wasn't expecting such great Chinese in the middle of MT, but it was such a pleasant surprise. Matched what I am used to back in SF. The Wok - Lunch combo D - Chinese Near Me - Livingston, Montana

I am a Chinese, and I wanted to get some Chinese food on the way back to ND from Yellowstone. So I stopped at Livingston to get some. I yelped and found this restaurant. It only got one staff. It was busy at dinner time. And he was the receptionist also the only waiter. Anyway we ordered Sichuan chicken, hot pepper beef, and some eggplant dish. I was actually a little surprised we got our dishes pretty fast. They looked pretty good, once you taste, you can instantly tell they used the same sauce cooking whatever you order. Only the pepper in Hot pepper beef dish was hot and the beef was precooked and cold. Sichuan chicken was ok but still not as fresh as it should be. I only ate the eggplant dish as it was the only dish fresh cooked. My friends seemed like the chicken dish, but nobody(3 of us) liked the beef dish. So I would say if they really want to do the business right, they better start to use the fresh ingredients and really cook them. read more

Wonderful service and delicious food. I'll be stopping here again the next time I come through Montana.

I'm Norwegian and can make better Chinese food. I knew I was in trouble when arguing with the waiter on what the menu items are, yet received completely the wrong thing. Its a cheap place that can only throw out what they can buy from Albertsons. Save your money. read more

This is literally the only Chinese place in town and they don't deliver as far as I know. Placed an order over the phone and picked it up. Prices were not cheap and the food was not good. I'd give it one start but at least the food was hot. I won't be going back again. read more

Come on people... it's Chinese food In Livingston Montana.. you really expect then to have good elk hunting in Hong Kong??

In the historic downtown of Livingston, this is THE worst place (I wouldn't even use the word "eatery") in the history! Foods are mystery!! Those are not Chinese dish, even not Americanized Chinese dish either. Those supposed dish just smell something. Something like MSG, or some sort of their own special, if not mysterious, sauce,..........Actually it DOES SMELL like some sort of dishwasher detergent in their supposed foods...........really......... it's just weird and awful (puking emoji, here!!!) On top of that, staffs are unfriendly and rude........... Then on top of that, on that first and last day for me, as the waitress brought the plates to us, "something" was on it...........perhaps a "leftover" from dishwasher............Another puking emoji here!! Anyways, this is the shame and dump to exist. Please be gone!! If you want to taste how dishwasher detergent tastes like in foods, this is the place to be!! As I'm writing like this, I have not been killed yet!! read more

It is a nice restaurant, good service and the food was fine. I will eat here again when I'm in the mood for Chinese.

Certainly the best place in town to celebrate our anniversary. Even though it was very busy that late afternoon, the waitress was very cordial, and the food was served quickly. Is was all so delicious. We had the Crab Puffs, Teriyaki Chicken, and the Snow peas, mixed veggie, shrimp dish. Enjoyed the Crab Puffs which we learned are crab and cream cheese filled wontons. Shrimps were tasty and large, snow peas and veggies were good and crisp. The chicken was awesome and cooked just right. We're definitely going back for more. read more
