This place is so old and cute and has a fun name. It reminds me one of the famous Southern California chain. Mark's used to be a gas station at one time and now it is a very busy and popular drive in restaurant. It also reminds me of the Dicks Drive In's in the greater Seattle area. While waiting in line to order there were some very chatty but well meaning customers about who identified themselves as locals. No harm but it made the wait more tolerable. We had: Chicken Sandwich Supercheese burger Onion Rings 2 large huckleberry shakes Loved the shakes and burger. All very yummy! Iconic and a great place to stop when in the area.

Fantastic burgers on the cheap. Prepare to wait and line and don't cut the line. Well Worth the wait. We had the fire mushrooms and fries with double bacon cheeseburger's. Yummy !

Always a line!

The first time I drove past Mark's BeefBurgers the temperature was in the mid 40's and it was drizzling rain. There was a line of customers from the counter all the way to the street. "Self," I noted, "That must be a darned good burger!" A couple of days later the weather had improved so I stood in line with a couple dozen other customers and waited my turn. AND IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! Man, that's a great burger. After a lifetime of nasty fast food burgers without taste or texture these burgers are like a gift from Heaven. I don't know how they do it but the beef taste shines through while the burger stays moist and juicy. Now, honesty, their crinkle-style fries ain't much to brag about, but they were plentiful and HOT! Add a huckleberry milkshake and... MMMMmmmmm.... So good! Can't wait to go back!

You don't go to Mark's for the food (unless you have small children), you go for the nostalgia. Like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting, Mark's is your classic old school Dairy Queen or A & W style (no indoor seating) hamburger joint. We tried everything from burgers, chicken sandwich, and hot dogs to fries, tater tots, and onion rings. All in all, the food quality is very similar to McDonalds. Fun for special occasions. The lines were long but they went fairly fast. We were probably in line for 15-20 minutes, but food came out quickly after we ordered. See my pics below...

Don't miss the ice cream or a classic Coke.

You know it must be good if there's a line every time you drive by. The line moves quickly. Both regulars and tourists stop for a bite. We had burgers, onion rings and shakes. It's a throwback to old times with a 1954 building. You can sit on the edge or in your car--no indoor eating.

Exterior with a little free mist on this hot day!

Classic walk-up burger joint in good ok' Livingston, MT. The prices are hard to beat but it makes sense when you see the size of the patty! I saw many people getting double and triple burgers which would be the way to go if you wanted the meat equivalent of a 1/3 lb burger. Pretty sure they use Kraft singles for the cheese but the meat and ice cream are all local Montana-made products! A go-to if you're rolling through town during their open season. It's tough to judge them on service when people are so hard to find right now- but that was kind of lacking during my visit.

A local icon that has good tasting food at unusual low prices. From time to time we make it a point to drive over from Bozeman to eat there.

The experience is a 10. Brings back the old days of drive ins and walk up burgers/ice cream. Food about what you would think.

Pretty good food at a great price! You may have to stand in line awhile to order because it's usually very busy.

Service is top notch -- always been friendly, attentive, and just the right amount of urgency. Drink and food prep times have been good, during both slow and busy visits. Love the fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, and a few other tasty bites we've tried. Options for regular American or Irish fare! Guinness and Harp on tap -- so get your half and half's flowing (black and tan's; I've always been told by my native Irishman is made with Bass). I could care less what anyone else calls it -- just get me one!! Hahahah!!! The inside is an old school pub feel and I just love it! World Cup during the most recent visit -- can this place get any better?? I'm ready to be surprised -- but don't need to be! Will be back many times and will update in a few months!!

It took a while. There was one waitress for the whole area. I feel like maybe the bartenders could have helped run food a little more but whatevs. Full disclosure, before we got our food....I would have rated this place lower. But. Oh. The. Food. My heavenly, small town, delighted tastebuds heck...the food! We ordered bangers and mash, the corned beef, and the Shepard pie. And we ate it all like we were on death row and it was our last meal! DELICIOUS! The Shepards Pie is something I'll dream about. Hearty and robust, but somehow not heavy. Perfect for a cold winter night or a hot summer day! And don't sleep on the soda bread! It's not only the best I've ever had. Paired with a smear of that lightly salted butter...it's enough to make me grab an employment application and ask if they can pay me in food! Bottom line- slow but sweet service for a REALLY good meal!

SO REFRESHING! On the main drag is an institutional bar and local staple, Gil's Goods. Worn hardwood floors that creak as you walk, unique signs and hightops to sit at while watching the World Cup, Gil's is straight off a movie set. The place is built for country fun and the local watering hole. Now the shocker, bar type food that can be slightly healthier and very flavorful, lives here. We ordered the watermelon mint salad with cucumber, watermelon cubes, mint, feta, onions and a reduced balsalmic vinegarette. The freshness of the watermelon with the punch of mint and balsalmic bite was perfect for a summer day. A Truly great choice! The crispy Korean chicken sandwich was enormous with Asian pickle, slaw, Korean BBQ and Gil's aioli was scrumptious. The fried sweet potato fries were less health, but sinfully good. It was a bit messy, but I could not stop eating, a two napkins meal. Gil's Goods is not a typical bar, but the food is packed with great flavor and savory selections that make you smile. A very nice meal and must return to in the future. Please put Gil's Goods on your next must try in Livingston, Montana. The menu looked good and they had space for our large group of 10 because it was a bit late (maybe 2pm) when we sat down. The waitress was super kind, engaging all the kids, giving us a history of the town and restaurant and recommending her fave dishes. And I have to say...if it's on the menu, you MUST order their Key Lime Pie, it is one of the best I have ever had and I friggin love KLP. Anyway, lobster mac, truffle fries, deviled eggs, calamari were all amazing apps we shared, well the Lobster mac is really a main, but we indulged. I can't recall what my wife and sister-in-law got, but my niece got the poke bowl and loved it, I got the prime rib philly and the prime rib was cooked perfectly, and I think my wife got the wedge salad, but needless to say we all cleared our plates. On Wednesday evening we made a last minute decision to stop in for dinner and we are so glad we did. Sat at the bar as we like to do most visits, enjoyed a drink before ordering as we usually do but what came next was above and beyond and I have to share. We ordered our meal, and as my husband sometimes does, he ordered a rib eye and asked it to be cooked " as the chef recommendeds it". He does this all of the time...nothing more comes of it, dinner is served and it works out to be delicious most of the time. This evening there would be a different chain of events that would leave us very impressed. The bartender took it a step further, she decided to actually refer this order to The Chef... He took the time to come out to talk to us. He explained his experience cooking this choice of cut, he made a suggestion, and went into detail explaining the marbling. He offered his recommendation and we agreed. He called it "Pittsburgh Style", It was the best Ribeye we ever had, ( yes I made him share a piece ). I am sad to say we did not aquire this young man's name but we wish to recognize and commend him, not only on the result of the meal, but on his knowledge and dedication. He didn't have to take that extra step, but he did. And to our server/bartender...Kudos!
