So when I was checking into the hotel, I asked the guy at the front desk if he could recommend any restaurants. He said without a doubt if you're a chicken fan you got to go to The Roost. I was all in To be honest, this place was a little difficult to find and took me about 10 minutes once I got to the location. It is located across the street from the McDonald's, and turned sideways so you really can't see the name of the restaurant from the street. But once you realize it's there, it's not hard to navigate through and around to find a parking spot Walking into the place it feels very hometown and rustic. It has a lot of patio seating and a lot of indoor seating as well as bar top seating along the window which is really nice. The girls at the counter were fun and friendly, I ordered the Nashville hot chicken with a side of fries and asked what to drink. Without question she goes. You cannot go wrong with the lemonade. It's the best ever. So I had to opt in. I took a seat at the window and just kind of hung out and checked the place out. It was clean, well maintained and you could tell they took a lot of pride in the place. Plus they had a framed signed aluminum plaque on the wall when Guy Fieri came through and did an episode of Diners, drive-ins and dives here Sandwich made it to the table, and while the fries were not as hot as I would hoped them to be, they were still very tasty. But the real star of the show is the chicken sandwich. Some places when they mean Nashville hot they actually mean Nashville scalding. This sandwich had just enough kick to make your mouth notice. Something was going on and maybe get a bead of sweat on your forehead. But the flavor was so balanced with the pickles and the coleslaw on the sandwich. Every bite was simply magical. Now while your mouth is still tingling from the Nashville hot sandwich, take a sip of that lemonade to cool down. The combination here is absolutely off the chart. The bottom line? I would absolutely 100% eat here again. The only reason I did not give it five stars was the fries. We walked up to the counter, placed our order, and waited at our table for our food. We both ordered chicken sammiches; I got mine with the maca-maca cheese, and my wife got the fries. We have this little thing where we like as foodies to try as many Guy Fieri Diner's Drive In's and Dive's adventures. Relying on fellow Yelp reviews, we happened to stumble across Roost Fried Chicken unbeknownst at first that it happened to be a triple D visit on season 29 episode 2. We were pleasantly surprised and if given the opportunity, we definitely will visit again. Service was great and food was terrific. We had a (1/2 a bucket) 4 piece classic fried chicken meal with double collard greens, because if you know me, I'm a green fanatic. We also got the Alabama Sammy with extra pickles with a side of Mac & cheese. The Alabama had a nicely grilled bun on both sides which gave a nice crunch as you took a bite. It was like a heavenly creamy chicken salad sandwich without fruit or nuts. The pickle slices added a nice tang and the white sauce had a bit of pleasant heat at the end. The Mac & cheese sadly was rather plain and dry. Maybe just an off day for it. Now back to the stars of the show. The chicken was so moist, flavorful and delicious, we regretted only getting a 4 piece. My hubby was sympathetic to me eyeing him devouring his chicken, so he shared a leg with me. Not the best chicken I have had and definitely not the best service. The first time I came to Bozeman was 2020 and I came back in 2023 and the town is booming. Over tourism has definitely caused sub par eateries. The chicken I got tasted like it has been sitting there awhile, fries were cold and soda was flat. Not a good combination. We live in Belgrade and we're excited to try this restaurant because you can't find very many good chicken places in Belgrade or Bozeman Montana. We were really excited first off.
