It tasted very authentic. The food is homemade, not the frozen Italian junk food you get in a lot of chains. The service was slightly slow but to be fair, they were slammed and there was a sign at the door telling you they were short staffed (an unfortunate universal problem today). This wonderful restaurant is Old World Italian from the minute you walk in. The romantic tapestry booths & carpet, painted grapes on the walls with columns & dark woods all set the tone of Italy. There was even an Italian Opera Singer (Andrea Bocelli) singing on the big screen behind the stage in the dining room. They also host live bands. The dining room has several levels of seating with soaring ceilings. Since 1956 they've been using homemade classic recipes handed down thru generations. There are two locations in Colorado & thirteen in California - all owned & operated by many different family members. The formally dressed (black tie/white shirt) wait staff was above par - friendly & very attentive with fast service. Both of our meals included warm fresh Italian Bread & pats of butter...delicious. The Chicken Parmigiana dish came with a house salad, Spaghetti Marinara & fresh vegetables. The house salad was plain with lettuce & only 2 tomato slices & it was over dressed with Italian Dressing. The marinara sauce on the spaghetti was incredible! It's some of the best sauce I've had. I wish they'd bottle it! The Chicken Parm was outstanding as well, crispy, cheesy & huge! To top it off the fresh veggies were prepared perfectly. The other dish was a trio of Spaghetti, Lasagna & Beef RaviolI, we added two meatballs. Even tho the Lasagna tasted delicious it was a little small - it could have used a little more meat & perhaps another layer. We really enjoyed the Beef Ravioli & meatballs, so flavorful. Currently I'm still pretty new to Denver and have been searching for a good Italian restaurant. This wasn't it unfortunately. It wasn't bad don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't go back. I ordered the fettuccine Al Bianco. The taste was very bland and I had to add massive amounts of salt and pepper to it despite it having bacon already added. The price was a lot more than I was expecting and they charged me a 4% additional fee for using a credit card. There was also no lunch prices even though I went during lunch. My server was friendly and not bad. The restaurant itself is magnificent looking with an almost Colosseum/theatre look to it. It was almost completely empty when I went which gave it a very eerie atmosphere. There was also music playing on the projector by an artist named Tony Bennett. We had a party of two and were seated immediately. It was an early Sunday evening in January. We had fettuccine Alfredo and gnocchi with meat sauce. The fettuccini was homemade and delicious as was the Alfredo. The gnocchi was properly cooked and served however I found the meat sauce to be a bit bitter. First impression walking in is numerous signs taped all over stating no split check due to a staffing shortage since 2021. The food is nothing great and yet it's extremely expensive. Service was ok, had to ask for refills on drinks, dropped off the food and didn't return until we were about done. They will nickel and dime you with fees, 4% for using a credit card, $4 if you split a meal. And the best one, $2 per person if you bring your own dessert for a birthday celebration. I guess a 10 top isn't enough for them , they need to charge you for celebrating a birthday too. I can guarantee none of us will be back. read more

I've eaten here about a half dozen times in the last year. One of my favorite Italian restaurants to stop at in Denver. They have a projector playing (usually opera) and the restaurant setup makes for a great lunch or dinner atmosphere. The pasta, lasagna, and pizza are all very good especially considering the entree price (I'm personally quite fond of the lasagna). The staff has always been really great and never had an issue with them or any of the food that's been served. If you are looking for a dessert option their tiramisu is quite excellent! This restaurant is amazing ! We are in from California visiting our sister who lives in Denver. This is a treat we will never forget. We ordered the Chicken Alfredo, Tortella Alfredo, and Chicken Picatta. We also got the garlic bread and a few drinks. Cesar was an amazing waiter. He was helpful and attentive. Do beware if you're coming or going by car service that GPS will take the driver to the back of the building, while the entrance faces the main road. It is designed to look like an Italian villa. With the photo from the balcony I tried to capture the tables with white tablecloths on the main level, the cozy booths, as well as the live piano player. Later they projected a full orchestra concert of the kind the Vienna Philharmonic gives on New Year's Eve. The space definitely gives off Liberaci vibes. We were there with a large group, and we want to compliment the kitchen and wait staff for producing, serving, and clearing such a variety of delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts. I'm disappointed immediately walking in the door, sign posted that says 'due to employee shortage we do not allow parties to split check". How can a lack of employees create an issue of two people at a table each paying their bill? Anyway, we're offered searing options: the bar area to watch sports or main dining for piano music. Hockey playoff time so we choose booth on the bar. Shown to the booth and there's a tiny tv on the wall above our booth so only one person is watching TV, which turned out to be me but the TV was so small you could barely see a hockey puck. But we're here for dinner so not that big of a deal. The decor and ambience of the main dining looked really nice. Ordering drinks and food uneventful. Food arrived promptly. Calzone was good, tons of cheese inside. Fettuccine Calabria for my dinner partner, good flavor, plenty of sauce but could have used more pasta. Funny how long reviews get deleted and you have to repost. Server was terrible. Kept getting lost. Had to ask for water twice then disappeared before and after ordered desert. Table next to us came after us and left at least ten minutes before us. Server was lucky he got a 10% tip. Inside a huge multi level restaurant with a huge TV screen (playng old Celine Dion concert). I think only 3 tables wwre occupied including ours. Our chatty pleasant server contributed a lot to our rating. My wifes linguine with clams was 3 star my steak salad was 5 star. The grilled eggplant and zuchine was excellent and the steak perfectly cooked. The mountain of greens was over the top but not a problem when smothered with the home made blue cheese dressing. I've visited this charming old world Italian restaurant several times with my husband. Tonight it was girls night out. Our group was well attended to and the food was delicious. I had a steak for the first time and it was wonderful. In the past I've had pasta dishes, and chicken piccata that was outstanding. The soup is so good too, traditional style minestrone here that tastes like it's been done from scratch daily. I'm in between 3 to 4 stars, which I'll explain why below: This place kinda reminds me of an old world style Italian restaurant. A place where mobsters would come in to spend their money away or talk about their next plan. Seems like a place where you'd entertain someone for a business meal, even though you're not really located in the heart of Denver. Maybe a final parting meal. I guess it's a California-based chain. Interesting that the location is right by the airport. Seems like it would be more popular elsewhere, but I understand it being sandwiched between the hotels. With that said, once you enter you feel like you're in his huge ballroom. There's a pianist on the stage, booths on the perimeter and on the second floor. Again - that old world mafia-style feeling. Feels so formal, yet the clientele are just people in the surrounding hotels. Anyhow, we were greeted by a very nice and funny server, although it took a bit of time. He kindly did apologize, but it gave us enough time to decide our orders. We ordered a few items: spicy breaded ravioli, house salad with minestrone soup, and the fettucine alfredo. After ordering, we promptly received our bread. It was good, though I wish we had olive oil as a dip (the bread was nice and warm!) and I wish they gave us more. Oh well... As for the main entrees, it was pretty tasty. We had just enough of an appetite for dessert. We selected the Spumoni Ice Cream and we did not regret it. The place gets a few minus stars for me, which revolves around some of the weird quirks/rules. I thought the whole "splitting/sharing order" rule was kinda weird (again - we're near hotels where the average customer is probably a family in the summer). I don't think they need to be that strict. I can understand the fresh pasta surcharge and perhaps the splitting checks rule, but the splitting order rule is kinda dumb. I also think the 3.95% cash surcharge is not needed in 2023. I think they should figure this out - the food is expensive as it is and you're not going to get many people paying in cash. With that said, our server was so nice and funny that we have to give a bonus star just for him and his service. Therefore, what would be a 3 star review is a 4 star review. read more

The pizza seems half-hearted, almost like an afterthought, and there's no braciola, which is strange given how nicely appointed and lovely this place is. Delicious Italian food at what I would say is a fantastic venue. DiCiccios was short staffed during our visit but we were still met with welcoming smiles and prompt service. The Eggplant Parmesan is to die for. Layered like a lasagna and the marinara is super mild. The best part? The cheese! Both gooey and crispy, this entree is served in a au gratin dish. Pleasing to the eye and totally guilt free! The Calzone is just as tasty. The marinara served with it is a bit more sweet than the eggplant dish. Plus, the calzone is large enough for left overs so be sure to do just that. Save room for dessert because the Tiramisu is sooooo delish! read more
