Because I want to help my fellow riders out. I was looking at a Gunship Grey RoadGlide Special. I was offered the bike at $29,145 in Colorado. They offered me a red RoadGlide at $1k below that, so $28,145 for a red RoadGlide. They have a 2018 CVO in Gunship Grey. I offered $32k for the bike and they refused. Some food for thought; you can take a brand new 2022 RoadGlide Special and drop a crate motor (131ci) for ~$6300. $29k+$6300= $35k... and that bike would be more bad ass than a used 117ci 2018 CVO w/ 10k miles on it. Just because they are asking it doesn't mean you have to pay it. There are 100's of dealers in the US, plus the road trip and ride home would be worth it. Do your research first before buying a bike. Nice guys; but I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to buy a bike. Cheers!!! In response to "Timmy's" response. Deserve a two star review??? That's not customer focused. How about you'd like to "earn" my business. And please share with me the accolades that you're one of the best dealers in the country, considering I've rode across country on three different bikes to multiple dealers. Trust me, you have a lot of room for improvement. Now, your salesmen were friendly, I'd give you that. But your prices on a used CVO are not competitive. By the way, it's still for sale. And the $29k was for a RoadGlide Special, not standard. Add a 131ci and a stereo system, it's still under the price of the CVO. Paint you say? I could drop $2k on a new paint job that would blow the CVO away and still be under your asking price. So Timmy, if you'd like to earn my business on a USED CVO that's still sitting in your showroom (and with the way the market is heading, will likely be there for a while).... Let me know. I decided to take a riding course and choosing Desert Wind Harley Davidson was the best decision in my book! Before starting I was given a tour of the dealership by Bobby! He showed me around and got me hyped for my class by teaching me basics on their simulator. Bobby also took time to seat me in as many bikes as I wanted to get an idea of what to look for in choosing a bike that best fits me! He was so vibrant and made me feel like part of the family. I would sign up again just for the experience and the way I was celebrated. The course is well organized and I was set up for success with updates and important info before I started! My course instructors Ken and Chelsea were an absolute joy and very informative. While you learn at an appropriate pace they pay close attention to ways each individual can better perfect their skill and really fine tune you to be an excellent rider. Terrible ...buyers be ware... if you decide to sell it or " pay it off early which @ 13 % interest you should, then the nightmare begins. the finance dept, extended warrantee, gap insurance, and the dealership all pass the buck around and don't communicate with one another so if you want to get bike paid off takes 2 weeks to clear they're process to get title, which gets sent to ADOT and not you the owner. if you decide to sell it then have to call multiple numbers to get credit back for the extended warranty and gap insurance, then you find out that 3K non refundable .. Terrible business practices and no way to treat bikers...READ the fine print.... My mistake I trusted them and then found out the real facts...Buy a bike outside this dealership they suck... read more

I tried multiple times and multiple different ways of asking questions before buying a new Street Bob. It was like pulling teeth to get email responses or returns to phone calls. I showed up at the dealership right when they opened on sat mornings twice and it was annoying to say the least. Nobody was interested in selling me a new bike. They always pushed for a used bike they had in inventory. At one point i almost settled on a dead wood green street bob 114 they had in stock ( had a few upgrades that werent really my thing, but whatever) The sales guy went to get info on the bike and never came back. I found him 15min later helping a different customer. I picked up my daughter and we left. My friend bought a blue street bob from desert wind a few weeks before this and he had similar issues getting help buying a new bike but stuck it out with them because they had what he wanted in stock. read more

I have to say, purchasing a bike from DW was a great experience! I worked with Ray to purchase my 2020 Road Glide special patriot. I had the family with me and he was fantastic with the kids! One of the best parts of working with him was bringing him back a Coca Cola... you have to meet him and ask about it! I don't usually give 5 stars... especially for a random Harley dealership! So, I'm riding to AZ bike week from San Diego, and my motor broke down in Mesa, after a 3 hours highway ride (failing oil pump / sumping leading to cam damage etc... My motor almost seized). I was quite upset (make sure you read my review of BIGGS Harley Davidson in San Marcos, CA to understand why I was so very upset...) but lucky enough to be welcomed and taken care of right away on a Thursday later afternoon (about 30 mins before closing time). The service representative (John aka "JJ") took care of me right away (and remember, it was during AZ bike week...), had a technician come and take a listen at my motor immediately. Blake, the technician, confirmed that there was a serious issue and recommended me not to ride any further. I left my bike and ubered to my hotel. They took care of my bike the day after, first thing in the morning! Opened my motor and confirmed the damage. They were so friendly going though all details with me, showing me used/worn off parts, explaining the rebuild process and helping me to deal with HD warranty and my "local" dealership in San Marcos. Blake is clearly an extremely competent technician who loves building motors. I trusted him right away (I've been riding *a lot* for the past 25 years...) They got my bike built back within 2 days after receiving all parts (HD corporate were the ones slowing down the process, it took about 2 weeks before they could rebuilt my motor). I am so happy with the service and the treatment I received. No other dealership made me feel more welcomed, no one else has ever been so helpful and friendly. I got my motorcycle back after 3 weeks (had to be shipped back to California). The bike feels good, sounds good. They've done a superb job, and provided an amazing support. Worked with Ken and Andy and Mark in the New Riders course and they got me from a complete newbie who could just put on a helmet and who only sat on the back of a bike to learning the components of how to start a motorcycle, learn the workings of braking, throttle, clutch, riding with others, as well as learning how and practicing life saving safety maneuvering, riding in rain conditions and of course, wanting my own motorcycle. . Our days were split between classroom education and actual hands on on the bike riding. The level of education was in-depth, not only as a rider on a motorcycle but it made me evaluate myself as a driver as well. I'd be very interested in taking further classes forum Desert Wind. Also had a good experience with Mike in sales as he showed me how to use the jump start bike and we talked about potential motorcycles I'd want. I never felt pressured, and Jerry made sure that my family and I were comfortable while going through the process. Amir in financing went all in to work me a deal to get me on my bike. He did not over promise and was up front about my options. Joseph in service was another rock star. STAY AWAY!!! Just got my bike back after an A-Clean. Took them 5 days to disclose that they "found damage" after they cleaned it. It's a crack in the saddle bag that goes all the way through. In a nutshell, since I can't prove that it wasn't there, it's on me. But according to the service writer, I can use some flex seal to fix the damage. I still have some prepaid services there but will write them off as a loss because it's not worth risking more issues. read more

Kimberly Case is awesome at being the Motorclothes Manager. Every time I've needed extra help with finding or getting an item that Harley carries but I couldn't find, she did for me! She ordered a purple vest I wanted and stayed on top of the order until it came in. I love it. She also took care of some glasses that my Husband had been trying to get. This review is regarding the Harley Riding Academy New Rider Course not the dealership itself. The riding course was great! Andy, JD, and Mark were all super helpful and really focused on getting everyone to the level of riding and safety they want to be at. I had 0 motorcycle operating knowledge or experience prior to the 3 day course and I ended up being one of two people To get a perfect score on the "Celebration of skill" as JD calls it or the final exam to Pass the course. Bought a new bike there. Not the best deal but the sales team was good. Maintenance is a different story. Very difficult to get someone from service on the phone. Usually I have to ride over and talk face to face, it's actually faster and more reliable. Called today and was on hold for 20+ mins. Called again. This time was on hold for 5 mins but then went to a recording automatically. On a good note, they did call back after I scheduled something online. Recommend the recording say, leave a message and we'll be back within 1 hour or something similar. read more

I went to the riding academy at Desert Wind Harley Davidson and I'm happy I did! There were several different places to go, this was recommended by a friend. I had riding experience so I figured I'd be board the whole time and at first I was but I started learning a lot of low speed tips and help on my turns I never realized I could have done better. Right before the final exam I had a family emergency that really took my head out of the game, the instructors helped me immensely at that point and I don't think I would have gotten that at any other school around! In June 2024, I attended the three-day beginner Riding Academy at Desert Wind Harley Davidson in Mesa, AZ. As a first-time rider, I found the school's structure was laid out brilliantly, focusing on basic controls, friction zone, and slow-speed maneuvering. Our coaches Kelly and Joe did a tremendous job of juggling the school's curriculum while also making sure that we stayed hydrated and did not overheat despite the Valley's warm weather. Kelly and Joe's passion for riding was evident. It was of the utmost importance to them that we were all successful in the academy so we too could share in and enjoy the riding experience. Kelly and Joe's words of encouragement during the course were very meaningful to me, especially before and during my first unsuccessful attempt at the skills evaluation. Mark's words of wisdom before my second and final successful attempt at the skills evaluation were also very much appreciated. Thank you, Mark, Kelly, and Joe!
