Don't bother with this dealership they dont want to sells bikes. Twice I have gone in to buy a motorcycle and both times it was a crappy situation. The first time the sales person said they just got a bike in that would be great for me. I was curious and told them to let go see it and it was in the back in a where house. I asked him was there anything wrong with the bike and he said " it's in perfect condition". However, when I did see the bike I notice there was scratches on the side of the right side brake handle, and on the foot pedal and not to mention the dent on the gas can. This is when I first realized that the sales person was shady so I left. A few months later I decided to give them another chance and I was nearby so I went in and looked around. This was a mistake since I explained what I was looking and automatically the sales person steered me over to the newer bikes that were over 10,000 more than I wanted to spend. I explained that to him but he said you can finance the bike. This was another red flag so I told him let me go get my wallet and left. I will just go to a dealership who listens to their customers and not what they think a person should pay. This place is shady and should be closed down in my opinion. read more

Once the sale is over, so is the service. I was sold a motorcycle that did not have all of its required documentation. Just shy of two months from the sale and cannot obtain a proper registration. It seems that they forgot they needed a manufacturer's certificate of origin. Who knew you could sell without all of the required documents. This is why you are given the surveys before the problems rear their ugly heads. I should have known the day of the sale, none of the finance equipment would work properly. This translated in my deposit being run as credit and a percentage was added. Then the printer refused to work and we sat for an additional forty five minutes to get signed. All in all the experience has been frustrating and a good lesson. If theres something wrong after the initial sale, it will be your problem to handle with phone calls and texts that are pure lip service. read more

They took complete advantage of my 21-year-old son, using payment packing and changing all the numbers when he was taken back to finance. To top it off they priced the Harley $1,500 over fair market value and tacked on an outrageous recon charge, as well as an inflated interest rate despite a 680 credit score, which should have qualified for much better terms. When we realized the unfair deal, we immediately asked them to unwind it or at least buy back their own product, which never even left their showroom floor--but they outright refused. I really enjoyed having my license training and test here so I chose to buy here as well, everything was great with my sales rep Tony, however this dealership is doing some shady shit. For context I bought an old high mileage bike from them, probably something that was traded in or whatever. I test rode it and was 100% sure I liked this one and I wasn't going with anything else for several reasons. Well fast forward a month ish and I got a letter from the bank saying I wasn't approved for the 2025 nightster and I was like hmm that's funny I never applied for that bike? Then I remember one of the other salesman trying to say you weren't approved for the sportster but you can get the nightser and I said no I'm not getting the nightster, I picked the one I liked already, and only then was he like oh okay you're approved for the sportster. That whole conversation was literally within a minute. So I think he was trying to trick me and saying well banks will approve more on a newer bike because they're safer and all that BS. Had I been approved for it I fully believe he would've tricked me into buying that brand new bike. read more

If I would've known how this place operates, we would have never gone there. We took our bike there to get fixed. While we were there we had an appraisal done on it. The appraisal came back to low, it would've however paid off the loan. We took the bike and tried to sell it on our own, which is what we were told we should do, by the guy doing appraisals and a couple other employees. Today we go back there, 30 days later, and somehow the value dropped $2,500 since we were there 30 days prior. And now the guy that did the appraisal on the first place says, "I didn't do that appraisal." He's the only guy there that does this. Anyway, after talking with a few employees and the GM, they also agreed that we were being screwed over. My advise to anyone thinking of Desert Winds Harley Davidson is... run away fast and find a different dealer. Or do business here and complain about it later. The service saga continues its downward spiral in my reviews. About four months ago I decided I wanted a little more kick on the low end, and a bit more rumble. I didn't want to do a full exhaust replacement or a stage 2 upgrade, so they recommended pairing a set of Cobra Neighbor Haters with a K&N high flow air filter and the Screaming Eagle power commander to remap the fuel injection. Within a few days I called them back and said that the air filter was oiled too hard and blowing oil straight out of the casing all over the bike. They responded by telling me I was lugging the bike (running low rpm's) which I don't do. I had to remove it and clean it out because the oil was literally dripping out of the filter. I also said that it was running so rich that it smelled like I was sitting on top of an open can of gas. Just firing up the bike would get you high which was no bueno. They told me the mapping program was set correctly and so I must just not know how to ride a bike. Uhh, wtf do you say to that exactly. So I took it to another Harley dealer (which I will not name to protect the innocent) who advised me that while they didn't want to talk smack about another dealer, that I was correct. It wasn't running right because the Cobra Neighbor Haters and aftermarket air flow are not compatible with the Screaming Eagle tuner kit. They said they kept getting customers bringing in their bikes after Desert Wind sold them incompatible parts which they then had to unflustercluck. So I'm now down another couple of hundred bucks to get my bike recalibrated with a different fuel map from another tuner. But at least I'm no longer afraid I'm going to burst into flames if a driver tosses a cigarette out of their window on the road. read more

Customer service needs to improve. You buy a motorcycle from Harley and spend lots of money on one. You buy T shirt and accessories just for these assholes at this dealership to tell you that they can't help you. I rode my bike from Texas and two bolts were coming loose. I stopped by to buy some T shirts and other stuff there. Since I just needed to tie those boots up. I asked if I could borrow a tool to tighten it up or have someone help me. They flat out said no and to fuck off. I got so mad they I returned 200 dollars worth of stuff that I bought and went to another Harley. I'm new to the area, moved out here for a last minute job opportunity with my Harley being my only transportation. Unfortunately my fork seal went bad a couple days after my first day on the job and needed to get it fixed asap so I could get to work. I called everywhere and Desert Wind was able to get me in on an earlier date than anyone else, which was a huge relief. When my appointment day finally arrived I had let them know I was only able to show up after work which was about 3pm, and also notified them that I needed my issue fixed same day. I showed up and they got the job done within a couple of hours, and they also washed my bike for free! I was beyond grateful when they brought my bike out clean and ready to go. **"Mixed Feelings After 2 Months"** I've had my bike for about 2 months now, and while I love being on two wheels, I can't help but feel like I've been taken for a bit of a ride, both literally and figuratively. For simply getting me on the road, I'll grant you a star. I took the Basic Rider course, which was fantastic, shout out (Nathalie and Frank)--I learned a ton, and the entire staff was super friendly. That part of the experience was great, so I'll grant you another star for this. I initially went into Harley to do the Jumpstart program since I had a class coming up and hadn't been on a bike in years. Of course, I was given the classic salesman runaround, shown a bunch of bikes, and in my eagerness, I ended up falling into buying an XL883N. The bike itself is a great starter bike--the lightweight design makes it easy to handle, and the engine size keeps me from riding outside my abilities while I'm still learning and practicing becoming a better rider. No complaints there. But now that I've had time to reflect, those excessive prep fees are starting to sting a bit. $600 for storage? $999 for prep? Really? What's worse is after waiting a few days to get the bike, I quickly realized that the speedometer was broken, and the bike was leaking oil. So much for all that "prep" I was apparently paying for. While TC and customer service were helpful and did get it fixed within a few days, I'm left wondering what exactly all that prep money went toward. If you're going to charge me close to a grand for prep, maybe at least make sure the bike doesn't have multiple issues right out of the gate? But I will grant another star since the customer service there went with ease. as if that wasn't enough, when I finally got the bike back, it had little to no gas and the oil was basically empty. Keep in mind, I rode it for maybe a mile before realizing the speedometer was broken. So, I'm left with a bike that wasn't prepped, needed more repairs right away, and came back to me running on fumes. I've given myself a couple of months to sit with it and try to chalk it up to "it is what it is," but I can't shake the feeling that I was taken advantage of with these fees. The manager even told me I could trade the bike in for what I paid for it within a year, but with the $1600 in prep and storage fees I had to pay, the shadiness of this whole purchasing experience makes me want to look elsewhere. Plus the absolute bombardment of phone calls, after not picking up a couple times, is annoying, you think you'd get the hint, I'll call if I need to talk to you. Again, everyone was super friendly and helpful, but there's definitely a bit of shadiness lurking beneath the surface that is leaving a bad taste in my mount. read more

Because I want to help my fellow riders out. I was looking at a Gunship Grey RoadGlide Special. I was offered the bike at $29,145 in Colorado. They offered me a red RoadGlide at $1k below that, so $28,145 for a red RoadGlide. They have a 2018 CVO in Gunship Grey. I offered $32k for the bike and they refused. Some food for thought; you can take a brand new 2022 RoadGlide Special and drop a crate motor (131ci) for ~$6300. $29k+$6300= $35k... and that bike would be more bad ass than a used 117ci 2018 CVO w/ 10k miles on it. Just because they are asking it doesn't mean you have to pay it. There are 100's of dealers in the US, plus the road trip and ride home would be worth it. Do your research first before buying a bike. Nice guys; but I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to buy a bike. Cheers!!! In response to "Timmy's" response. Deserve a two star review??? That's not customer focused. How about you'd like to "earn" my business. And please share with me the accolades that you're one of the best dealers in the country, considering I've rode across country on three different bikes to multiple dealers. Trust me, you have a lot of room for improvement. Now, your salesmen were friendly, I'd give you that. But your prices on a used CVO are not competitive. By the way, it's still for sale. And the $29k was for a RoadGlide Special, not standard. Add a 131ci and a stereo system, it's still under the price of the CVO. Paint you say? I could drop $2k on a new paint job that would blow the CVO away and still be under your asking price. So Timmy, if you'd like to earn my business on a USED CVO that's still sitting in your showroom (and with the way the market is heading, will likely be there for a while).... Let me know. I explained that I was driving 90 minutes to get there and Taylee assured that she was "looking" at them and even listed the colors. So I made the drive and when I arrived I was greeted by someone who told me that Taylee was unavailable. Really... a sales person who was unavailable ??? Then I realized that I had been lied to just to get me in the dealership. After walking the entire dealership with another salesman looking for something that wasn't there, He finally told me the truth. The bikes were not there and they never were. At this point I asked to speak the sales manager. I was taken to Shawn Robinson. He was noticeably angered and he made it clear that he didn't want to hear about my experience. Shawn was short, rude and continually interrupted me. Shawn then said "if you get upset looking at motorcycles then you shouldn't own one. Shawn heard nothing I said.
