Desert Wind Harley-Davidson - Riding Academy class Oct. 2026 - Motorcycle Dealers Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

Thank you Antwon S. and Darrin for making getting a new Harley an easy process. Thank you

Taking the New Rider Course was one of the best experiences I've had. Before this class, I had never ridden a motorcycle or even controlled one. Walking in on the first day you meet your instructors, meet the bike, and before you know it, you're riding a motorcycle. As a first-time rider, it can be scary. I actually had to take the course twice, but that wasn't because of the instructors, it was because I needed more confidence. Both times, the instructors were incredible. Natalie and Mark were patient, supportive, and never made me feel discouraged. I truly can't thank them enough. What also surprised me was how welcoming everyone at Harley was on the 2nd day they give you a tour around the shop. Jerry would pop in every now and then crack a joke, and Jazmine from service was always available to answer questions and help with anything motorcycle-related. The course is structured really well. Day 1 is all about getting comfortable with the bike. Day 2 is where your confidence and riding skills really start to grow. By Day 3, you're graduating and realizing how far you've come in just a few days. At graduation, they have you ring the bell, which is a really cool moment. They also introduce you to the Harley community, including events, advanced rider courses, and bike rentals. Even if you're not buying a bike, they're happy to answer questions, help you find parts, or point you in the right direction. Overall, this course gave me the skills and confidence to achieve a lifelong goal. If you're nervous about riding or thinking about getting started, I highly recommend it. read more

My husband and I went in one day shopping for bikes and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. There was a noticeable smell of marijuana and several employees seemed impaired. They were slow to respond, had difficulty communicating. Whether they were under the influence or simply not taking job seriously, the experience felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable. I hope management takes this seriously because customers deserve better service. Unfortunately, based off of the whole experience I will not be back. I hear that Harley dealerships are in trouble, I hope this isn't the case for the owners sake. read more

Came here for a new set of grips for my 2014 Street Glide, and found them pretty quickly. The guy working in parts was helpful and made sure I was getting the right fitment for my bike. He noticed that I was a veteran and gave me 10% off without me even asking. (I probably wouldn't have asked, so I appreciate that). I've been here before for a shirt (gotta have one for everywhere I've been) and the staff over there was helpful as well. Hopefully I'll never need the service department, but if I did, I probably wouldn't have a problem having them work on my bike. read more

Kimberly helped me over the phone. I am located in California. I was desperately searching for a jacket that was completely sold out online and in many states throughout the US. I know this because I called 18 different Harley-Davidson's before I was very fortunate to reach Desert Wind Harley Davidson in Arizona. She asked me for my information and even said she would be able to ship it to a sister store in California. She definitely went above and beyond. I love our HD community, but this was truly special. My fiancé was over the moon when he saw it and realized it was THE obsolete jacket that he hadn't been able to locate. Thank you so very much for all your help and support. read more

First time rider. Finishing the course today. Very informative and fun experience. The staffing crew is what made it the best Mark, Kelly, and Luz, kept it fun, positive and very patience with each of the riders, some slower than others but still showed attention to all. Answered every question we had as a group and some that we didn't think to ask. It's definitely worth what you pay for to begin on a bike. read more

My husband and I just purchased our third bike from DWHD and I would never dream of going anyplace else in AZ. Jerry was super helpful as always and made sure we chose the right bike that we would be happy with. Everyone involved in the process is always super nice and helpful and make you feel welcome and appreciated. And the music is always perfect! :) read more

Called service 2-3 times, kinda rude. Pick up and hung up with no intro or outro, I work at a dealership so I understand courtesy and quality, they don't have it. read more

This is a really nice dealership with the friendliest staff. I was greeted at the door and Kimberly in clothing provided me with the best customer experience! I'm visiting the area from Seattle. I'm only here for 48 hours. I was especially excited to visit the Scottsdale location and it is huge and beautiful, but no one greeted me or asked me if I needed help. They had just opened, so more employees than customers were there. Their items in clothing are significantly higher- $6 poker chips! Gtfo! Kimberly at Desert rep'd the brand way better and had wayyyy better deals! Thank you Kimberly for making my Harley tour amazing! read more

The sales team here are a bunch of liars. I contacted them the day prior and the day of to confirm availability of a specific motorcycle. When I called, I told them that I would be coming from out of town, so I wanted to confirm that the bike was still there before making the drive. The salesman assured me that it was. After driving over 5 hours, I got to the dealership and looked around. The bike was nowhere to be found. I asked the salesman about it and showed them the listing online. He then proceeded to lead me around the entire place "looking for it," and even pretended not to know what he was looking for. He went to go "check with the sales manager to see if it was still available." They came back and told me that it had been sold the previous day, and offered me an "I'm sorry" price on a new bike. I understand sales tactics, and trying to get someone into the dealership, but if someone tells you they are coming from out of town to look at a specific bike, THEY CLEARLY AREN'T INTERESTED IN ANY OTHER BIKE. Thanks for wasting my time and money Desert Wind Harley-Davidson! read more

Saw a listing on an Indian I thought was a great deal and was listed for over a year. Messaged the dealership, and TJ said it was still in stock. Set up an appointment to come look at it that weekend, 3 days later. A day before the appointment I called again to make sure it was still there. The morning of the appointment they called me to make sure I was coming. When I got there, I got paraded around the showroom floors. Looking at every bike but the one I was interested in. When we finally got to the Indian section, the salesman went in the back to look at the details on a bike we saw, and to see where the one I wanted was. The bike I was told was in stock and ready for me to see, is not there. I had the entire cost of the bike in cash in my pocket ready to buy. Never coming here again. read more

Eli was friendly knowledgeable and helpful when I came into get a bike I highly recommend this place if you're in the area

These guys are all amazing, especially Chris U the manager. They have the best deals and the friendliest staff

Got an appraisal on my 2012 Harley street glide. 69,000 miles they told me that was too many miles for them and said they would have to set up the auction and offered me $2500 for a running functioning full dress bagger. They are crooks and they are dishonest I would not recommend anybody buy a bike from them or sell a bike to them or trade in a bike or anything else. read more

Watch out, look out; top class dealership ahead! I was looking to swap out my ride and visited several HD dealers in the area. Desert Wind stood out from the rest. They were low pressure showed me around all the various departments. I narrowed down my selection and they offered a demo ride which is awesome on a new bike. I worked with Cole and John. Great couple of guys and they made the whole process easy. Adriana in finance was quick and really went over the top to work with me. There have been several follow up calls from Cole to make sure everything is going well with my new bike. If you are considering HD, stop by Desert Wind! read more

My bike had an issue with the fuel- I was in the far west valley. I called desert wind- they were ready to send a tow truck for me, and my bike- I'm in the tow business myself so I took care of it. They called back to make sure I was good. I left my bike at roadrunner hd. I'll never do that again. Went back next day and picked bike up and dropped it off at Desertwind,, those people are great. Especially Jazmine who went above and beyond to help me. Highly recommend desert wind read more

Horrendous sales tactics. They completely lie about the bikes they have in stock just to get you in the dealership. Has to go down is the worst Harley dealership in America? Avoid Desert Wind Harley-Davidson - Learn From My Mistake I wanted to give Desert Wind Harley-Davidson every opportunity to make things right before sharing my experience publicly. I reached out multiple times, explained my concerns in detail, and waited patiently for a response. They never even acknowledged me. As a first-time buyer, I walked into Desert Wind expecting some level of guidance and transparency. Instead, I was rushed into an overpriced deal on a used bike without being given a fair chance to explore other options. I later realized I had been pushed into a six-year loan for a bike that originally retailed for less than what I'm paying now--even though I was told I "wouldn't qualify" for anything else. To make matters worse, the purchase happened at night, even past closing. At the time, I was just excited to finally have a Harley of my own, but in the daylight, I immediately noticed multiple gashes in the paint--damage I hadn't seen the night before. After looking closer, it was clear the bike had been dropped. When I test rode it, the problems became even more obvious. Over time, it became clear that the drop and neglect from the previous owner had caused lasting issues--problems that were already there when I bought it and in no way could have happened in the short time I owned it. Despite all this, I've done my best to take great care of my first bike. I have never come close to laying it down and have treated it with the respect it deserved. This bike was meant to mean so much more to me, and I've worked hard to maintain it. But the underlying issues from the dealership's lack of transparency made that impossible from the start. When I went back to talk about my concerns, I spoke with Brent, the sales manager, who had previously reassured riders that "they would take care of them." Suddenly, he had no interest in helping me. Instead of professionalism, I got condescension and a shrug, with a response that basically amounted to: "It's your problem now." Later, when I spoke with TC, the so-called customer relations specialist, I was met with the same dismissive attitude. Instead of addressing the real concerns, he acted like the damage wasn't even there--until another employee, Carlos U., immediately confirmed, "Oh yeah, it's been dropped." After talking to other riders, I realized I wasn't alone. I've met multiple people with horror stories about this dealership--one who claimed they were knowingly sold a lemon that later led to an accident, another who said they were pressured into buying a bike they didn't even want. A quick look at BBB ratings and online reviews only confirmed what I had already heard firsthand. What really sealed it for me was reaching out to multiple other dealerships--and the difference was night and day. Every dealership I spoke to was happy to answer my questions, some even apologizing on behalf of Desert Wind for how I was treated. They took the time to discuss possible solutions and actually made me feel like a valued customer. In just a few conversations, they showed the kind of respect and professionalism that Desert Wind never did. If you're thinking about buying a bike, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. There are dealerships out there that care about their customers, stand behind their sales, and don't treat first-time buyers like easy targets. I wish I had known that before I walked into Desert Wind. read more

This is long overdue recognition of service excellence. There is a reason the Desert Wind Harley Davidson Service Department is ranked #9 out of 600 Harley Davidson dealerships. I've had a relationship with the Desert Wind Service/Parts Departments through three different motorcycles over a 10 year period. When you walk through the door you are treated like family as the staff recognize you and your machine. Scheduling service is easy and updates are provided by text. Riding is a big part of our life. My wife and I ride about 12,000 miles annually and we depend on the staff at the Desert Wind Service Department to maintain our motorcycle in good running order. When I receive my machine after a service, I am confident that it has had the best technical care and attention possible...our lives depend on it. Additionally, it's always a pleasure to ride away from a Desert Wind service on a finely detailed motorcycle. The Desert Wind Service/Parts Departments have been incredibly responsive to the many mechanical and technical issues I've encountered over the years. They have given 110% to make those issues right. In over a decade of service, I have experienced difficulties with aftermarket manufacturers and warrantee problems with Big Harley Davidson but Desert Wind has ALWAYS stood by my side and made things right. The Desert Wind staff have an old-school customer service ethos that is difficult to find anymore. As long as I ride, I'll continue to patronize Desert Wind. It has been a genuine pleasure working with the Desert Wind Service Manager, Service Writers, Parts Associates, Technicians and Lot Porters. With sincere gratitude, I can't recommend or thank you all enough. read more

I had the opportunity to take the riders course here and the coaches, Luz, Kelly, and Mark are hands down the best professional coaches I have had the opportunity of meeting. I traded my Sportster in on a Harley pan America. I made this punches two weeks ago and it is still setting at the dealership because they sold me a broken bike with out me knowing. the general manager told me I will get my bike when I get my bike I asked to refund my money and give me my old bike back and he told me no. it's not his problem and when I get the one I punched I get it he don't have to make anything right with me at all. he would not even say sorry for the inconvenience or do anything to try and make things right with me. this was just a slap in the face by a Harley dealer they don't care about customer happines. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Desert Wind Harley-Davidson. I found a bike listed for sale on their website and came into the dealership, only to be told the bike had been sold weeks ago. There was no update to their listings, no communication, and a complete waste of my time. A dealership of this size should maintain accurate inventory and remove sold listings promptly--especially when customers are traveling in or making serious inquiries. Unfortunately, this experience left me questioning their professionalism and attention to detail. read more

Just finished my BRC with DWHD a few days ago. Although I failed the exam, that is no way the fault of the course or instructors. Rider coach Doug and assistant/guest rider coach Joseph were phenomenal: patient, comprehensive, thorough, and answered any clarifying questions I had. I will mention I did this course on the fly with no proficiency in bicycle riding and no prior riding experience, except as passenger. Knowing how to bike is one thing. Proficiency is something else. You should be bicycle proficient prior to starting to this course, IMHO. I love how much safety is emphasized here, without compromising technical skill teachings. I plan to retake the test in a but, after a few weeks on a regular bike. read more
