$1000.00 for tune up and oil change of 1 cylinder Bike. I would NEVER use them again!

Destroyed my motorcycle. Did unnecessary work and broke engine internally. Terrible place to repair your motorcycle....

Rude owner/employee. Basic decency goes a long way. Owner spoke to me and my mother disrespectfully and asked that we not park in his parking lot. Mind you, he shares a parking lot and it's not his by any means. We actually planned on entering there as well but for him to come out of the building and tell us to park closer to another store (2-3 spots down) next time because "You're taking my customers spots" made no sense. Mind you, there was only two cars in the parking lot. Just plain rude. It costs you nothing to be kind. Thank you. read more

My bike had been sitting a while and it leaked fuel from the fuel injectors when I got it started again. I brought it to Eastside thinking the injectors needed to be rebuilt, but when they started it they called me to say that it was not leaking at all and asked me again what the problem was. The owner, however, said that they were still going to rebuild the injectors since that is what I initially thought it needed. So, he did the work even though it didn't need it (or did he? Keep reading!). After I got the bike back and I'm about $1200 lighter, it still has a fuel leak! So, I take a look and the fuel line from the gas tank is brittle and cracked. How could they have done any work on the fuel system without noticing that? I now question if they even rebuilt the injectors, but I still got a hefty bill. Maybe they did, but no good mechanic would have left a fuel line in that condition on an engine. Not happy! read more

This review was originally posted in October, and recently I got a voicemail from Sean Murphy saying there was a "gentleman's agreement" ending our business. Our business concluded when my carb was replaced, we agreed on that. This does NOT preclude me from writing a truthful bad review and telling anyone who would listen about my PURPOSEFUL, ROYAL FUCKOVER experience. And for Sean to call me about a "gentleman's agreement?!" THE GALL!! The gentleman's agreement is when I hand you my bike keys and you do only the honest work that is required and not lie to me, jerk me around, then hand me a $1000 bill out of the blue without consultation that included a lot of needless work like exterior vapor blasting! I'm including photos this time. ------------------------------------- Got jerked around ROYALLY, Sean Murphy took me for a fool the entire two month-long ordeal. "The valve is kissing the piston." So what, adjust that in 10 seconds, I know how to do that. 2 weeks later... "There's a wire underneath a motor mount bolt." NONSENSE, I know who rebuilt that bike. Couldn't tell me which bolt or which wire. HA!! PLUS he swapped out my parts for crappy parts -- leaky carb and rotten plug wires! He denied everything until I presented photographic evidence and receipts backing this up. I checked my oil before leaving. EMPTY! He was gonna send me off without any oil! At least he flowed me a pint. ALSO didn't torque down my head bolts so oil dribbled down the engine! (I have pics!) He totally FUCKED my bike up so I would crawl back whining for more repairs, and gave me $1000 bill that included needless work like vapor blasting. All that awesome golden patina on the outside of the head is gone. I was not advised what needed to be done and how much it would cost. All that was needed was new valves, valve seats ground, and points. I knew that this was the MAX that needed to be done (already had decent compression but could be improved), and the shop failed my test. The points weren't even replaced, a part was EPOXIED and fell apart later. "I don't know how long that's going to last...." For a whopping $1000 bill I expected REPLACEMENT of the disc and points! It's an easy order! (I converted to electronic ignition since.) I even polished the inside of the combustion chamber, no blasting needed! I still have everything except the rotten plug wires (I made new ones) so if you think this is a false review, THINK AGAIN. I tell everyone who will listen this story. I was hoping for a solid alliance with this shop, but NO, it was decided that I would be jerked around with from the start! WHY???!!! --------------------------------- So I would come crying back for more repairs because someone thought I was an ignorant newbie? THE REVIEW STAYS. If the owner is so concerned about reputation, this incident should NEVER have happened! Dance like no one's watching, WORK LIKE EVERYONE'S WATCHING. Did you think I would go away quietly with my tail between my legs? I was seething mad for MONTHS. Someone deeply underestimated me. read more

The shop I had been going to for years has been closed for quite some time and Eastside Performance was recommended to me so I gave them a call. I could not be happier with the work that was done on my Honda Shadow 750 ACE. The engine was making a knocking sound and I was very worried I was going to need a new bike. A disreputable shop could have taken advantage and charged for an expensive engine overhaul, but Sean pointed out on the spot that it was the fuel pump. As the repair progressed Sean called me regularly to give me updates. He was open and honest about things that should be done right away and things that needed to be done but could wait. I came to Eastside from Minnesota to look at a bike that TJ and Pam were helping sell for an older customer of theirs and was thrilled to find this jewel of the moto world. In addition to being really great people, these folks know what they are doing! One look at their shop and it is easy to see the quality of their work. I ended up purchasing the bike a '79 Triumph Bonneville 750 Special. Eastside was responsible for an entire engine rebuild on the bike and after having ridden it I can say It runs as good and probably better than when it was new. I let my brother in Minnesota know what I found and now we have 2 Bonnevilles being shipped our way! I only wish they were a lot closer. I found them to be courteous, knowledgeable, and the workmanship of the highest quality. *If you have any interest in 1970's Kawasakis, I highly recommend a visit to this shop. I called today to ask for a quote on mounting and balancing two tires for my Honda Rebel. I knew which tires I wanted (Pirelli MT66) and was trying to find a labor quote because I planned on purchasing my tires online. The man I talked to was very rude. I had only asked for a quote and the first thing he told me was to call back after I'd called everyone else. He then told me that the total cost of the operation if I didn't buy tires from him would be too low for him to be interested in my business. I don't mind being told that my bill would be too low for him to want to work on my bike (understandable) but I do mind being treated poorly for asking questions to determine if I'd like to give him my business. This is the second time I've called them in the last two years. When I first purchased my Rebel (two years ago) I called them after a couple months to get my 1000 mile service and the response was similar. I had hoped that the attitude would change but I guess not. Perhaps this business isn't paying attention to the economy? I don't think there is anything wrong with trying to get the best bang for your buck and I AM willing to pay for stellar service. However I'm not in any mindset to fork over 200 dollars so I can be treated rudely. read more

I needed a Dynatek Dyna S ignition system for my project bike. I remembered seeing some Dynatek stuff on display on my 1st visit to Eastside, so I called them 1st. I talked to Pamela, who said they didn't have the exact one I needed but she could get it for me. She took down my name/number and what I needed, and called me back within 30 minutes with a price and ETA. She said she could have it for me the next morning, and for a price cheaper than most online stores have it for. Even after taxes, it'll be cheaper than if I'd ordered online. Pamela called me at 10:30 this morning to let me know my ignition had arrived, just like she said it would. read more

I made the classic mistake....I bought a motorcycle on impulse. To add insult to injury it was a garage built bobber that had been chopped, cut and sold "as is". Determined to get the bike up and running I took it to a local, well reviewed shop. The shop got the bike running and assured me that it was mechanically sound and sent me on my way after I paid the $1200 bill. Unfortunately the bike wasn't mechanically sound, nor legal (it wouldn't pass emissions); which brings me to TJ at Eastside Performance..... I called Eastside in desperation (after several shops actually referred them). TJ (the owner) empathized with my situation, but was upfront with me. He explained how he would diagnose the situation by finding the root of the problem rather than band-aid the symptoms. This took about a week's time, but I stopped in periodically to see what sort of progress he was making. Each time I visited I could see him personally working on the bike on the lift. He told me he had over 20hrs invested in the bike, and I have no doubt that he probably had more. He was very honest about what areas I should address immediately and others that were of no consequence, where I could save money. He was very patient with my lack of knowledge and spent several additional hours answering all my "stupid" questions and offering helpful suggestions. TJ was able to diagnose several additional issues overlooked by the previous shop. He properly repaired all discrepancies and the bike passed emissions with flying colors. As far as service goes, I want a shop to be knowledgeable honest, thorough and provide a level of service as if the bike was their own. You might get lucky to find a shop with one of those attributes; however, I received all at Eastside. I just wish I would have gone their first! read more

I was highly recommended to go to Eastside Performance from an old school Harley mechanic and was a little bit hesitant because I have an R6. But after showing up and talking to Sean for a bit I knew I made the right choice. He is very friendly and super knowledgeable. I am extremely picky about my bike and Yamaha are the only guys to touch it...not any more! Yamaha wanted over double the price and I don't like the way they treated me at Yamaha. Great shop! Had them rebuild and lower the old worn out forks from my 1982 kz750. They had some issues finding the correct parts but they didn't give up! The bike rides 100x better now with the progressive springs they put in. I'd highly recommend taking your classic/vintage Kawasaki (or any older bike) there for service. read more

Things that other places failed at, like rebuilding my front forks and fixing the fluid leak, these guys had no problem with. Every bit of work has been perfect. Knowledgeable, helpful, well staffed. I haven't had to wait for half an hour for a five minute conversation with the service manager -- they get to me quickly and then have time to talk about the state of the motorcycle. While traveling from Austin, TX on a month long trip, my 73 Honda CB750K3 was blown off the road by crosswinds in Eager, AZ. handlebars were bent so badly that the bike was going to need replacements to finish out the trip. After desperately, and unsuccessfully, searching the local area for a competent mechanic I widened the search radius several hundred miles, as I wanted to be sure that a capable set of eyes and hands would operate on and road-check the bike. TJ, at Eastside Performance, was highly recommended by a Phoenix-based Honda dealer as a "specialist in the vintage bike arena". I quickly contacted TJ, and he quite convincingly assured me that he was familiar with bike and actually had suitable handlebars in stock. I trucked the bike down and TJ had the bike ready the same day that I dropped it off. He had replaced the bars as well as performed several tuning and maintenance measures to ensure that the bike was ready for the road. He saved our road trip. Thank you once again, TJ and Pamela. We made it up Hwy 1 to San Francisco and the bike performed flawlessly. read more
