Scot is quite literally a godsend. Not only did he come to my house on time to fix my Yamaha V-Star, he fixed all the stuff the last person "supposedly" fixed, and he did it within a few days of me contacting him. He also did a once over on the bike and caught several other things that I wouldn't have even noticed. Services he performed - he fixed the stuck floats that were causing the gas to fill up into the carbs, he blew out the excess fuel from the carbs, took off the gas tank to get to the carbs, replaced a fuse, dialed in the idle and really went through everything. If you are looking for a professional who will get you back on the road and do it the right way, Scot's your man. As for some of the reviews where they talk about the cost, I think it is fair to say that it is not necessarily inexpensive. However, if I had to rent a trailer (and maybe even a vehicle to tow it, and a hitch, etc.) and take it to a brick-and-mortar shop, it would be an additional time and expense just to do that. TLDR: Following months of trying to get an appointment, I paid Scot $420 to attempt - but fail - to get my bike to start on 10/12/22. Today, he 1) Indignantly rescinded the offer he made in October to not charge me (another $85) for his return trip to continue to try to figure it out 2) Insulted the bike as "not being a motorcycle" and 3) Drove off. My bike doesn't start. - I have a small collection of 70s/80s vintage machines which occasionally require expert service. I hired Scot, following months of attempts (see attached) based on the strong Yelp reviews and his claim to be an expert "all types of bikes/all repairs". I clearly stated up front the make, model, and build date of the bike (March 1980 Motobecane Mobylette). It is a stock bike (not modified/not messed with/not a basket case/not a project). It has never been wrecked or damaged. It was running as recently as late 2020, however it is not currently starting. On Wed 10/12/22, Scot attempted to get the bike to start but failed to do so. He was able to quickly get my other bike (Jan 1978 Puch) to start with no problem but he could not figure this one out. He charged me $420 for the attempt. As I was paying him he offered to return "next spring" and "not charge me for the trip back up". Today (5/11/2023) Scot arrived only to immediately rescind his offer (claiming it "has been a year") and insulted my bike (it's "not a motorcycle") and drove off. read more

Scott's reviews on Yelp are all or none. I tried to make an appoint based on how many great reviews he had vs. the handful of bad ones. Well here I am being one of the bad ones. I called Scott weeks out to see when he'd be in LA next. He got back to me a few days later. Said, "he could squeeze me in either Wed or Thurs afternoon." A day later he said "Thursday afternoon would work 4:30 to be precise." I cleared my schedule and NOTHING. No show, no call, no text. So I reached back out thinking there was a miscommunication (I went back through texts there was not) and he said Friday afternoon 2-3pm would work and sorry about Thursday. Once again get things set up schedule wise Friday and no call, no text, the day is getting late so I reach out, "He's caught in traffic an hour away in playa del rey" Two hours later "ok... was in traffic, stopped to eat... this isn't going to happen sorry." What a waste of time! If he hadn't been texting me saying he's still coming and just said he was too busy I wouldn't be here writing a bad review. Scot is a popular man and for good reason. My initial concern of him being based in Arizona was put to rest as he is very communicative and keeps to his word. When he says he'll be in LA, he's there. To be clear, Scot is very busy. He won't always respond immediately to call or texts, but he will get back to you. Very disappointed Scot, I used Scot approximately a year ago when he had between 5 and 10 reviews on yelp so he needed to work but I guess now he's a champion mechanic that gets 100$per hour . He charged me a year ago 50$ per hour and no charge for a call fee,so he was very honest since he goes around with his truck without paying rent or employees and so less expenses. I can't say it again unfortunately,when he came yesterday with his same exactly truck at my house in Scottsdale(he came from chandler he said ).Called him and told me that he would be at my place on Monday (which later he said that was his day off and I guess he charged me for it to )very poor Scot . He came to change a tire on my v-rod (which I provided for it) and an oil change ! Before he did start for the change of tire I asked if he did change a tire on a v-rod before and he said "oh yeah several times"! Well that was a lie because toke him 3 hours to do it and me and my friend had to help him to since he comes alone ! So he charged me 3 hour x 100 $ . So if a job of an hour takes you 3 because you have very rudimentary way to do things that means I have to give it to you Scot? Also he charge 75$ for a call fee which it is an other ridiculous price! So you came to rip me off yesterday but I guess you don't care no more about being honest and fair so...
