Theo, Senior., salmon plate. The rice was hard like a rock and cold. They no longer serve brown gravy for the mashed potatoes just nasty white gravy. No customer service / hospitality. We were the only guest in the restaurant and we were ignored. Had to call out for refills on coffee and didn't receive check until we walk to cashiers. Basically they took our order and dropped it off with no checking how we were doing. They could not even clean the dirty table next to us that was dirty during our entire visit. Tried to redemn T-Mobile offer of 70 percent off a grand slam and was only given a 60 percent discount, resulting in being overcharged $1.83. I came here once before and it was absolutely horrible. I woke up this morning and wanted bacon and eggs. I thought "how bad can they mess up bacon and eggs?" Well the answer is really really bad. My bacon was about as big as two pencils. It had a green hue to it. I did ask for hashbrowns well done but they came out as potato chips. Over easy eggs were medium at best. My breakfast had no flavor whatsoever. The server had the personality of a chair. I would have been better if I ate my Spare Tire. So no matter how hungry you might be my recommendation is to stay as far away from this Denny's as you possibly can. You will be disappointed. read more

This place has literally no management at all. We called to do a take out order and the phone was busy for over an hour. No problem, they are most likely just busy so we went in. The place was empty so we mentioned that we had been trying to call. The kid looked at the phone and said the volume was turned off. We ordered. Waited for about ten minutes to be told that they didn't have what we ordered in stock. They did their best to make it right but at that point we were so turned off by the situation. Came in at 11:45pm. There was a party of about 20 kids. Just finishing up. We were seated by a waiter and brought water. He asked if we were ready to order which we had just sat down and we were not ready to order. What ended up happening is this waiter has to check out all 20 kids that were sitting at the table individually so our waiter was busy doing that for about 20 minutes. Then he was helping other customers and doing other things once he finished at the register, never came back to our table so we just ended up walking out. I do understand it was 11:45pm. I do understand he had a party of 20 and was busy. But what was disappointing is that there were other waitresses that could have been sent to our table to help us that were not busy and were just standing around talking to the people in the kitchen doing nothing, and the manager could have also helped out a little bit or maybe managed things in the restaurant and redistributed work a little bit. read more

Bad service! Our food came out cold. Ambience so-so. The servers were not friendly and rude.

We got to Denny's about 8:00 am on Sunday morning. Only 5 tables were seated with one family table about 7 guests. The manager took us to the table without a Good Morning or any smiling face. We waited about 25 minutes, no one showed up. Because there was only one waitress working and serving every tables. There was another waitress that supposed to serve two customers at the counter. She stood there doing nothing and no concern to any situation. I looked at two customers next to us, their pancakes came without utensils. Took them 20 minutes to flag down the waitress for their folks. After 35 minutes, Still no one showed up to take orders from us because that only one waitress was still getting water and coffee for the family table Finally, we walked out We will never go back to this newly opened Denny's anymore. read more

Huge disappointment. Regional manager get here quick and fix this place before you lose it! It took ONE HOUR to get our food. We could hear just about every table complaining their food was wrong or taking too long. Everyone who came in smiling was now mad and annoyed. Just looking around all the customers looked angry and frustrated. I could see the cooks in the kitchen laughing and basically not rushing at all. The service here is outstanding, as soon as we arrive we're seated and greeted with menus. our server immediately got our drink order and brought us our drinks. we knew exactly what we wanted so we ordered what our drinks were brought to our table, our food arrived less than 10 minutes from when we ordered! It arrived just as we ordered it hot and delicious! This Dennys location represents everything that Dennys stands for and the many years they have been serving. I'm glad to see the company is bringing back its classic standards and home environment for families and guests to enjoy meals together. We traveled all over the southwest for the last 20 years and Denny's was the place to go. However the "new" Denny's in Simi Valley needs new owner/ management/servers! Opening on Halloween was a NIGHTMARE. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences. 1. Waitress was a mess. Couldn't take an order, needed constant help, and complained a lot. 2. Food took over 1 hour to be served, and was cold. They offered to take the cold food back, I denied. I was so afraid I wouldn't see my food for another two hours. 3. Tables that were seated after us we're being served before us. One lady trying to deliver nachos to the wrong table while the other table stood up and was calling for the waitress never heard them. 3. The man next to us had to return his plate three times. 4. The table next to us waited 40 minutes before they even got their drinks ORDERED. 5. We got our food but scrambled to get silverware, and napkins. 6. We got our own refills and ranch. 7. Our waitress gave us a bill for $3000! 8. We waited over 30 minutes before the bill was fixed. I even asked if we can add everything up manually. I was begging to pay. My son has school tomorrow and it was now getting late. 9. Although the owner apologized several times there was never any action behind the apologies. Not even a free desert. This is a great place to eat and even just hang out.the staff is always great, even at night I go usually around 11pm/midnight with my girlfriend. We even made it a tradition sort of lol. Our waitres continued to take our order and then went to the manager and said someone in our group called her "B". Never happened. Was very excited to have dennys again but what a big disappointment! Me and a group went on a Tuesday at 2pm. Let me tell you the food on the menu does not compare to what they give you at your table. First off service was bad all the waitresses and even manager all talking by the food pick up area instead of attending the customer's took 1hour for our food to arrive and wow I think my daughter can cook better eggs than this. I ordered the Fit Slam - and it turns out that they help you skip out on excess sugar by serving unwashed, moldy fruit. I brought it up to the waiter and the cashier. Neither bothered to get a manager or take anything off of the bill. Went here New Year's Day for lunch. I had a grilled cheese and fries. The sandwich was squashed and cold. My husband had a burger. It sat in the kitchen for so long before being served the bun was soggy and the burger completely cold. Service was very slow. Definitely would not recommend and will not be returning. read more

The female waitress begrudgingly sat us after she waited for one of the other waiters do so. Heaven forbid she actually do her job. I really want to see this Dennys succeed but they need to improve. On each of our trips here, the breakfast was served cold. Watching the counter while we ate, I saw some breakfast sit waiting to be served for over 10 minutes. Obviously those patrons had cold food as well. My wife and I visited Denny's in Simi Valley last Sat. afternoon. We are not at a Denny's very often and this was our first visit to this relatively new Denny's. We were extremely pleased with the service, choices, food, prices and experience. I had a salmon dinner, and everything was completely delicious. We can't wait to go back again. Denny's isn't a 5-star restaurant but if our experience is the norm, then I'm giving this one 5-stars because I don't feel right giving them 4. I'd say Denny's is highly underrated. read more
