Irish Nachos
Alex M. ..

One of those old-school spots that I try to keep open as much as possible! Not from Simi or anywhere near it but was at the Reagan library and decided to pop over for dinner. Had a FEAST! - Irish Nachos: Crisp kettle chips with chili, cheese and onions. Delectable! Was surprised at the quality of the chili - Hatch Green Chile Burger: Juicy patty, nice bun, fresh toppings, wish there was more Green Chile cause the flavor paired great with the burger - Reuben Sandwich: Corned beef was nice and tender. Wish the bread was crispier but took leftovers home and crisped up the bread a little extra till it was perfect. Loved the quality of the swiss and kraut - Had two GIANT beers as well All of this food and beer came out to like $60. A steal for the quality and portion size. It's a shame I don't live nearby cause I'd be here every week. Every server was also super gracious. Came by every couple minutes to check that we're good or to take away plates. Would love to come back.

Huge portion. Taste awesome. Best focaccia bread. Not very happy staff. I go there 5 times, only 1 time that the staff were looking friendly. Tummy hurt after the salad, maybe I'm allergic to something? ( happened twice ) Did I say huge portion? Love the cob salad, the cotton candy lemonade, pasta, calzone, and the fries. Super yummy.

Meatball sandwich and fries

The place is filled with SO many things to look at. Talk about eclectic!! Love the vibe! Ordered the calamari - lightly breaded and great taste. Definitely a go to for an appetizer. And it is a LOT!! Ordered the meatball sandwich - lots of cheese and a ton of bread. The meatballs had good flavor, just wish it had more sauce. It seemed a little dry. Service was okay. The food did come out pretty fast after ordering.

You should take your children there! It is a really cool and funk place to hang out. The service is great, friendly, and the food is us delicious! There are many different plates. Try something different. Price is friend as well! Take your friend who is visiting Los Angeles there. They have 0 alcohol beer.

The food was great. I always order from the breakfast menu as it never fails me. However, I will admit that once I had a large egg shell in my eggs but the food was still good. Service was quick and the server was friendly. The restaurant is decked out in junk like items and I think some of the items are unique.

Scrap heap, sunny side up eggs

This review is based on a to go order. I called and ordered a scrap heap, eggs cooked sunny side up with hash browns and I asked for a side of salsa. I was told 15 minutes and my order would be ready. I arrived about 3 minutes early. I was greeted immediately and the hostess went to the kitchen she and came back with my order. I paid and when I arrived at my destination, I opened the bag. There was napkins and plastic ware in the bag. I opened my container to find a large flour tortilla with hash browns, topped with cheese, and 2 perfectly cooked over easy eggs. 2 sausage links and 2 strips of bacon. They also included 2 containers of house made salsa. I received exactly what I ordered. The cheesy hash browns with the broken egg yolks and for a fantastic bite. The saltiness of the bacon and the slightly sweet sausage bites really complemented the dish. The salsa added a nice touch of heat.

Everything is amazing! This place is addicting! Tony is the best! Here are more of their food and drink items I had to come back and try ! Delicious!

The pile of gristle and fat I paid $30 for because I didn't want to argue and send it back again.

The weight staff set a sick couple of women next to myself and my child and I had to just cover her up for the rest of the time This is the pile of gristle and fat I was served when I sent back and over done steak. I brought it home for my dogs because the waitress was so pissed the first time I sent it back I was not interested in getting worse service so I just called it. Way down hill for a weekend when this was my favorite place The mashed potatoes had chunks of boiled potato in them, but it was more like hot potato salad. The only thing good about my meal was my drink.

Unique and eclectic decor makes this a fun spot in Ventura County There's so much to look at!! They have an extensive menu that reminds me of a Trader Joe's newsletter. The dishes that we ordered were quite savory and flavorsome!! The Hog Wild had Jameson Butterscotch Schnapps & coke; topped with a pig!! Can't wait to go back!

Fish and chips

Pizza very good! We would totally get the pepperoni pizza and cheese pizza again! The fish and chips were fabulous and the meatball sub had good meatball/cheese/sauce! The BBQ tri-tip was lean, tender and had a great bbq sauce! Everyone enjoyed their meal: food and fun atmosphere! The waitress was attentive, knowledgeable and polite! She was great! We will be back and being friends!

Kinda fun, kinda quirky, kinda random and very hidden. When you don't know the area, the restaurant is in the back of a parking lot. There was a lite up sign, but still easy to miss. Clearly the locals know this spot. I heard it's quite popular and well know, but also had some doubts on quality and service from friends whom have visited numerous times. Luckily, we had great service for a medium sized party on a Saturday night. The food was ok (pretty average). The desserts were the best items (I only had a bite of others orders). Most impressive was the hand written menu!!! Wow, so creative, so much to choose from. I seriously wanted to read each item and the description. I wouldn't make the drive just to eat here, but would definitely return for the fun atmosphere with friends if in the area. Plenty of parking!!! Nice size restaurant with bar and patio.

Junkyard has an insane menu, no getting around it. You had better love to read descriptive comments about the cuisine they serve, or don't bother with their fun menu's. The decor is just as wacky, maybe eclectic is a better description, maybe, but we all love what they've done with the dining areas and the bar. Service is always pretty great, even when they get a big rush. The service staff seem to actually care.

My friends and I came here for dinner the other night and I was absolutely blown away by this spot…read more Visually, it's a stunning place and they've done a fabulous job with the aesthetic as it's the kind of place that feels like a party. Neon lights, cute signage, and overall they just did a really great job with the design and execution. There's a lot going on but it doesn't feel cheap. Ambiance is definitely A+. For dinner on a weeknight we found this spot wasn't too busy but we also came after happy hour. It was a relaxed vibe. Service was overall pretty good. I felt like all of the gals working were very very sweet and nice. Also, anytime we stopped them to ask for refills and such we got what we asked for. That's my only upgrade as since it wasn't super busy, it would have been nice for the staff to catch the refills on water or salsa on their own/more proactively but hey, it was again a relaxed lowkey night and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. I'm just curious how the service would be if they were super busy? Now on to the food and drinks. The menu was very impressive! Solid cocktail and drinks menu. I'm bummed I didn't get a cocktail but my party doesn't drink so it was more fun to get an agua Fresca with them. The guava one was good and served nicely chilled. However, next time I'll definitely get a cocktail because their drinks looked fun and beautiful. The food was definitely the standout for me. I ordered the cheese enchiladas Suizas and they were a 10/10. Not comparable to most enchiladas I've had but the sauce was fantastic and unique. I really loved these enchiladas and I'd honestly get them again. Solid flavor in the rice and beans as well. My friends also enjoyed their meal and it seemed like everyone was happy. The pricing is a little steep for Mexican food but also the ambiance and presentation make sense to me why it'd be a little more. For the three of us the bill was over $100. And that's for three mains and three non-alcoholic drinks. Normally at $33-ish a person I'd hope for at least a beer with my enchiladas, so keep that in mind. As a special occasion place or a spot to celebrate this spot is truly fantastic. I honestly loved my meal so much that even with the price point I'd rush back and bring more friends because this spot is vibey. Nice staff and a cute spot to diner, 5 stars in my books given the quality, taste of the food and the overall experience.

The food tastes fresh, homemade, and not overly greasy like a lot of Mexican spots can be. You can tell they actually care about what they're serving. The portions are generous without being over the top, and everything comes out hot and well prepared. I've tried a couple different things now and nothing has disappointed. The flavors are spot on and feel authentic. The staff has been helpful and patient both times, which makes a big difference, especially when you're deciding what to order. Service is friendly and you don't feel rushed, which makes it a great place to sit and enjoy your meal. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. Seating was comfortable and they have booths, chairs and an outside patio. My Fajitas did not come with cheese and they charged an additional $1.50 which I think is fair, but cheese should come with the dish. We enjoyed the food and will come back.

You'll hear many patrons describe this restaurant as a hidden gem. Believe them. From our observation, reservations are highly desirable and may prove necessary for weekend nights. The only seatings available when we called a day earlier were at 4:30 or after 7:00 PM. We took the earlier, and frankly are glad we did. We arrived at their unassuming storefront location as the first patrons of the day, were warmly greeted and immediately seated. From this moment forward, my wife and I agreed: If anyone hopes to run a highly successful small restaurant, Bella's Bistro is the template. Inside, the ambiance was tasteful with gentle background music at the absolutely perfect tempo and volume to allow for conversation. We found the furnishings, tableware and restroom immaculate. Fresh flowers and a candle adorned each table, and the decorations for Valentine's Day were just the right tone, conveying appeal without being garish. Kudos to the staff for getting it right on all of the above. Though I generally set expectations low for the wine list or bartending at a small establishment, Bella's features a diverse wine list and specialty cocktails that pair very well with their menu. Of particular note was the superb crafting of cocktails during our visit - again, exceeding our expectations. It was during cocktail service that we noticed the full-service bar tucked in the rear corner of the restaurant, offering barstool seating and counter service for those who may be so inclined. We shared a nicely prepared caesar salad, while enjoying the basket of varied breads. While refrigerated butter pats were provided in the basket, it would have been a tad easier and more appealing if a small container of whipped butter had been offered instead. Our entrees included their homemade ravioli as well as chicken parmigiana, the latter included a large perfectly crafted portion of chicken accompanied by perfectly prepared spaghetti. To say this restaurant knows how to make and served great pasta is in understatement, with the ravioli a choice to be savored. A simple cheesecake dessert topped off the evening. Though the restaurant was full as our meal ended, we never felt rushed or ignored. Service was at all times attentive but never overbearing. There was genuine interest in our enjoyment and satisfaction. We encourage you to try Bella's Bistro!
