The place was great and then turned into a joke. The owner / management has a personality of a gnat. Go take out the garbage and leave the concierge for a professional. Pushes mediocre food they try to pass as BBQ. I'd bet the owner has never been a a real BBq joint to even compare. Way, way overpriced for gristle riddled entrées. The meat quality is far substandard! They completely ruined the vibe of what was great. Cocktails are double the price from once was, and watered down. Drinks Only- Located at the Simi Vally Golf Course, a public golf course, you will find a small restaurant/bar by the putting green. This is a very causal bar/restaurant that has recently been upgraded with a more extensive menu featuring bbq. The bbq smells good, but we have not tried the food at this location. They do offer waiter/waitress service inside and outside. We just come to relax with some drinks- the drinks are not fancy- the drink offerings include beer, wine and mix drinks. I like to come for my John Daly- seems like the perfect drink to have at a golf course. You can have a single or a double for under ten dollars. As for the vibe- the bar has a small indoor space and a large patio. The indoor space is tight and tends to be loud with golfers boasting over their performance or lack of it on the course. The outdoor area is more spacious- consist of plastic outdoor chairs, so nothing fancy, but provide views of the golf course and the mountains. Much better view outside than inside where you look at the small bar or the walls. Plenty of parking outside of the bar in the lot. read more

You can smell them burning tasty wood for the smoker in the morning, very pleasant while you're playing, makes you strive for a reward afterwards. Love the patio! Grub while you watch people putt off the 9th Hole, I tried the Prime Rib Sandwhich, it was Devine, light smoke flavor, cheese sauce, Au Jus, tried the MacNCheeze, very comforting. We go to Grill on the Green fairly regularly on Saturdays to have dinner and hear our favorite band. Servers are always very friendly and helpful. I had an unpleasant experience a few months ago, which is unusual, and it is still on my mind. Our food was delayed and I went inside to check since the servers were busy. Our food was on the counter. I pointed it out to someone later identified as Marco, one of the owners. I was not rude in any way. Marco became very angry and raised his voice, and told me twice to let them do their job. His demeaner was shocking and I was very upset. I can't remember the last time someone spoke to me in that manner. He did not give me our food, and a server brought it later. The server was very apologetic about the experience. It's too bad that one person, in particular an owner, can ruin an experience that is usually so great. read more

We went to Grill on the Green a couple of weeks ago to catch a friend's band and arrived early so we could try the food. We'd heard the new team in charge was serving some great barbecue, and we weren't disappointed! I ordered the short rib sandwich (I can never resist good short rib), and it was fantastic--amazingly juicy and full of flavor. My husband had the mushroom burger, cooked perfectly to his requested medium rare, and he loved it. We shared an order of fries, fried just right--not too crispy, just the way he likes them. While we ate, we noticed a few of the salads being delivered to a nearby table, and they looked just as tempting. I already know what I'll be ordering next time we're there! One small suggestion -- the garlic aioli on the short rib sandwich was lovely, but a lighter hand with it might let the short rib itself shine even more. So if you are looking for the old cheap $5 hot dog or burger....go elsewhere! This place is now for someone with a more discerning pallet. The food is flavorful. My husband and I have tried the tacos, wings, smoked pork belly blat, classic cheeseburger, ceviche tostada's, tri-tip meal. Would not recommend the fries. I feel the fries should be included as a side when you order a burger or sandwich. The BBQ sauces are mediocre. Best barbecue around I started of with the Brisket Quesadilla Roll wow awesome. I had the mushroom burger best mushroom burger I've ever had. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich. Off the charts. EMILY was our server. She did a fantastic job. This restaurant is going through city permits to expand their menu and their kitchen so it is a temporary menu that they are serving. Golfers buy hotdogs at the turn for a reason, because they're quick and cheep. Not at this place. They're gonna take a $.25 hotdog, throw it it the microwave while the bun sits with water under a pan on the grill. When the dog is done, they'll throw it in with the soggy bun and let it sit there for a few minutes. When thats done, good luck getting the right condiments added. All of this will cost you $9, yes $9. Without fries or a drink or anything. Add a chip and drink, with tip, $16. All American baby!! Hotdog was terrible of course. Worst of all, the entire process from ordering and receiving took 15 min. I was forced to miss the10th hole and catch up to the group because who has 15mins on a course? At least I got to eat the hot dog while I watched my group golf. The $12 lowball cocktail after the round was salt in the wound. Had me looking around, wondering where exactly I was. Classic example of recouping money by passing it onto the consumer and trying to fix something that wasn't broken. read more

This place is a hidden gem! Located adjacent to the Simi Hills Golf club house. Sat on the spacious patio with a view of the golf course. Was not impressed at all. My wife and I had lunch and she ordered a tri-tip sandwich and I had the club. She ordered a diet coke and I just had water. Neither of the sandwiches came with fries and had to be ordered as a side for $2.95 / $3.50 each, her diet coke was $4 and the sandwiches were $12.95 and $14.95. With tax and a 20% tip the total was $49. My wife enjoyed her tri-tip sandwich but I didn't care for my club (first time I remember having mustard on a club sandwich).
