Great place. Great prices in this rising economy. Great food my favorite place to eat.

Went around 3pm on Friday. There was only one other person but we came at good time as at about 4 more people showed up. The place didn't smell like a restaurant. Didn't smell like food. It had an interesting smell that want good or cleaning products. The food was pretty good. We got to pick all the ingredients from the meat, veggies, and sauces. The service wasn't very good... the server seemed annoyed and unhappy to be there. Talked as little as possible.

Fortune cookie at the end

The lunch special!!! $12.99 for a gooood portion of food IN HIS ECONOMY !? It's basically build your own huge bowl, meat, veggies, peanuts, noodles, SAUCE GALORE. Dinner is still great AYCE for $19.99 cannot beat it yes come here

My husband and I have never been to a Mongolian restaurant before and thought we would try it today. First of all I have to say everyone who worked here is very friendly and pleasant. It's large inside with lots of seating. We went for lunch and there was pretty many customers there. You fill a bowl and they cook it for you on this big round flat top. Very entertaining! They have a robot deliver your drinks to the table which was interesting. The lunch special we got was $12.99 and it filled us up. Came with rice and soup. I would go back.

The room has that "we survived several administrations" energy. Not dirty enough to make you leave. Just mysterious enough to make you text somebody your location. Very David Fincher. Very if the egg roll starts giving clues, mind your business. The food is not here to be cute. It is here to fill you up and send you home humbled. The noodles came in heavy. The beef and chicken did their job. Solid. Saucy. Filling in that real way where halfway through you realize this plate is actually trying to raise you. Not the most mind-blowing meal of your life, but definitely the kind of food that shows up to work. If you want a lot of food for your money, this place is not playing with you. Big portions. Strong value. No tiny forkfuls pretending to be a dining experience. The service though. Amazing. That is the plot twist. Warm. Attentive. Genuinely kind. The staff had more polish than the room, and honestly, they are the reason I would come back. They make the whole experience feel more inviting than the décor has any business allowing. So yes, the interior feels like it was decorated by suspense. But the food is solid, the portions are serious, and the service is good enough to make you forgive the fact that the carpet feels like it knows too much. it's giving... Se7en but with great customer service.

I'm not sure what's going on with our usual go-to Chinese restaurant in Newbury Park, but after a…read moreyear and a half absence from getting takeout from them, they don't appear to be open. Their voicemail message continues to say "temporarily closed." So I started searching closer to home, which is a challenge because I don't usually view any Simi Valley restaurant as being worthy of our patronage... yet, I searched anyway. I found Bao Su on Yelp, so we decided to give them a try based on other Yelper reviews. Bottom line is that my husband and I were incredibly impressed with their food, not to mention, happy that it is so much closer. We ordered the following (takeout): Shrimp Fried Rice Shrimp with Lobster Sauce Szechuan Style Eggplant Sizzling Chicken Mongolian Beef I had a bit of a problem deciphering their menu because there weren't a lot of details as to ingredients, so I took chances and prayed they were dishes we've had before. Everything was delicious, plentiful and mostly recognizable... with the exception of the shrimp with lobster sauce. That was more soup-like and watered down from what we're used to, but it was still really good. All dishes were loaded with protein and vegetables, well seasoned and sauced, and textures were soft or crunchy, just as we knew them to be... and just as we loved them. We've since ordered from them again, and they were (very happily) consistently delicious. We are sooooooo happy to now have a LOCAL Chinese restaurant that we can trust and enjoy. We may even dine there and not do the takeout thing for a change. (I really would like to ask them what some of their other dishes are on the menu cuz I would like more options, truth be told. However, if the dishes above are the only ones I would ever choose to order, I'm fine with that, too.)

Service and interior were really great but the food itself was extremely disappointing…read more My partner and I tried the ribeye + beef brisket with kombu base & sukiyaki. The first thing that I was surprised by was that any base broth that wasn't effectively just water coated extra. The seaweed water base was pretty much flavorless and would only recommend for people looking for something more bland. The sukiyaki was also not amazing because it was more salty than sweet. Felt like too much soy sauce was added for my taste The briskets were pretty low grade for the price (imo). They were super tough to chew and the ribeye was only marginally better. The veggie platter that came with the order was pretty standard and nothing bad nor special about it. Seating arrangement is a bit awkward for larger groups. My group was 5 people and since it's all bar seating it was difficult to converse with everyone so I wouldn't recommend this spot for bigger groups Staff here were awesome. They were professional and took care of us well during our entire dining experience Overall, for the price and quality of food I wouldn't recommend this spot for folks who regularly have Shabu Shabu.
