I come here when I'm planning on sitting for a few hours to play video games and want a fat plate of food that will last me awhile. I usually grab noodles, some sort of chicken (like teriyaki chicken) and then sweet and sour pork. The container is usually pretty well packed so you get quite a bit of food. This place is pretty decent. I have been a few times to get the orange chicken and fried rice which tastes good but always leaves my stomach hurting! They stack up the plate so you definitely get a bank for your buck but stomach aches in return! My friends have also had the same issue but nonetheless we all agree it still tastes good! My 6'5" nephew (with a matching appetite) loves this place because you get a LOT for your money. The food is amazing, tasty, and delicious if fresh. My nephew makes me accompany him whenever I'm over to visit and attest to the deliciousness when fresh. We've had staler/older food a couple times and it wasn't so good. All dishes are appetizing and with extremely generous portions. We were there once when the own was present and he's a chill guy. Some of the cashiers need a lesson in customer service however. read more

4.5 stars (+) First of all, the servings are generous, almost uncomfortably too much at first but once you try the food... you ask yourself why can't these portions be the norm at other places? And isn't it fun to see if they can still close the boxes after? :) (+) Bbq pork is totally worth the extra charge. That tender glistening red colored meat can't be found anywhere else nearby that I know of. And you really can't go wrong with any of the chicken options... from orange to zesty to I think the Japanese style one. (+) They cook up fast if low or missing a particular standard item. Just ask and wait patiently for a few minutes and you'll get some of the next fresh batch! (+) From my personal experience with the staff, it's always been kosher. Maybe there is an individual worker that's been deserving of some recent negative reviews, but usually I've seen the Asian chef (so it's legit right?), maybe he's the owner, in the back doing his thing in the kitchen. The young women cashier and servers in front grind too to take orders and help you get your food. Having said that, there may be off days and stressful bad days for folks on either side of the food counter... everyone is going through something. I also can't imagine the random crazies and rude people that food service has to encounter on the daily. Empathy and respect goes a long way in general, but esp for the food industry. I really hate to say this, but this by far the worst imitation asian food I've ever had. :/ Their fried rice is mush, their chowmein is below standard (even for fast food asian food) and their entrees are bland. I can bypass the messy interior of the store because I typically take things to go, but let me tell you, this food is just really bad. First off I want to mention that my Togo order sat at home for about an hour before I rate it. ( FYI ) I walk-in for a Togo order I ordered orange chicken with 1/2 and 1/2 rice and chow. The orange chicken had a good flavor. Nice and crispy Tho there were some chewy parts. The rice was GOOD. Nice moist and fluffy. The noodles were tasty too! Not to greasy but just enough oil for flavor. Over all everything services,food , and customer services was good. Just wish I stayed in and take my food fresh and hot. The ambiance was cute. My buddy Mike recently moved to Simi. We both like Chinese food so he recommended New Panda. After the 10 minute drive to get there, I saw from the outside of the place your nondescript, run-of-the-mill cheap, Chinese place in a typical strip mall. What awaited me was nothing ordinary at all. The first thing I noticed was that each entree looked fresh. Usually, any Panda Express type place has a tray of food that's been sitting out for a while. Everything looking fresh here was definitely a plus. I got the 2 item combo which was reasonably priced. I ordered fried rice and noodles to start. The portions were enormous! I chose Mushroom Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. Each looked good, and again, huge portions! I started with the fried rice. The flavor was outstanding. I'm not sure what they added to the rice to make it taste that way, but it was moist, flavorful, and damned good. The Van powah noodles. were standard fare Chinese noodles. Good flavor. The mushroom chicken had lots of big chunks of mushrooms and chicken. The sauce it was mixed with was good as well. The chicken was slightly overcooked but tasty. The Kung Pao chicken was very mild. It was ok but nothing to write home about. It did, as other yelpers reported, have a lot of celery in it. It wasn't bad, there were just too many of them. Overall, this was a great meal. Spent 65 dollars tonight to have my order messed up. I ordered 4 two entree plates and two were messed up. I even double checked and asked if they gave me a specific item and they said yes. I also ordered 2 order cream cheese Rangoon's which should be 12 pieces and they gave me 5.5 pieces, so not even one order. The food was old and stale as well. When my sister asked if I wanted to eat here, I was a little hesitant. I have been vegan for almost a year and haven't had Chinese food since. This is mostly because I heard that panda express put chicken flavoring in everything and I didn't really want to risk it. However, I figured I would go in, see what they have, and run to Del Taco if I needed too. The second I walked in, it looked like a family owned restaurant. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't even as "high class" as even McDonald's. The tables weren't anything special, they were using some of the dining room for storage, and overall, it just looked old. But hey, some of the best food comes from hole-in-the-wall places, so not judging. Now, I've seen some of the reviews on here mentioning the service, but the employee who helped me was outstanding! I asked if their chow mein or fried rice was vegan, she informed me that they were not. My hopes weren't high, but i was a little disappointed. However, then she informs me that they have plain white. I said yes, but wasn't too excited because I could literally just go home and make my own white rice. But then, she also asks me if I would like 'orange tofu' (like orange chicken, but with tofu). That's where they got me. I was so excited I could hardly wait! When I got home and started to eat, I realised what a great choice it was. The portion size was huge, the rice was good, and the tofu was great! The orange chicken that I ordered was delivered and it didn't even resemble orange chicken. It was a very dark red color, no breading, and no orange flavor. It was swimming in oil too. I must say however that it didn't taste bad, but it's not what I ordered. The egg rolls were flavorless and mushy inside. The Good: The food here is good I must say. The hot chicken wings are very tasty as well as the Mongolian Beef. They always always are playing good music here lol. The portions are also generous The Bad: The price is a little high compared to most Chinese food joints. And they are very sticky with the napkins and condiments which is very annoying. I absolutely love New Panda for buffet style Asian Food! The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. I will hands down pick this place over Panda Express any day of the week! The staff is always super friendly, will make things most the time if requested because the bin is towards the bottom, and just great food!
