I have no idea how this restaurant is still in business. The servers didn't care about providing any type of customer service. No one was there to hold anyone accountable..no manager or owner. The absolute worst food and service! The water is the regular chlorinated tap water which is not drinkable. The tea is not the normal green tea...so yes, that was below par as well. The sesame chicken and the orange chicken were the same except for the addition of sesame seeds. Both dishes were extremely overcooked. We brought it to the attention of the server. She offered to have both dishes redone. However, what we got was the same exact dishes that they microwaved for 30 seconds and put more sauce on. They ended up removing both of the dishes from our bill. The cumin beef was overloaded with cumin, and the beef was old and dry. The scallion pancakes and spring rolls were the only thing that was edible.

This Chinese restaurant was recommended to me from my friend who's also from HK. Honestly, I think I might've ordered wrong because I just got what I usually would get when ordering Chinese food back home (Colorado) but I think it was just average compared to the expectations I had from it. Again, it might just be the food we got because I read someone else's review that recced the Sichuan cold noodles. Anyways, service was good and the restaurant was nice and quiet too. I can definitely see this place as a solid comfort for people who just want good ole Chinese takeout.

Yunnan Restaurant had been on my bookmark list for awhile now since they opened. I was excited for a taste of LA in the 805 as they have multiple locations in the Los Angeles area. A nice little drive to oak park faired me well because this spot was great. The restaurant is so cozy and for an early lunch it was nice and quiet, just what I needed. The menu reminds me of home, beautiful Chinese dishes with dim sum, noodles, and soups. This restaurant is intended to be a slow and thoughtful meal. A little rest and relaxation away from life's problems. The staff leave you alone but are also very friendly and welcoming. I sat with my hot tea and had a much needed recharge moment. It's one of those places where you might need to make eye contact to get a refill or a check but it didn't bother me. I appreciate my space sometimes and again, the staff couldn't be nicer. The menu is massive and I ordered a few of my favorites which I'm happy to share: * Wonton rice noodle soup with pork & chicken broth. This broth is so flavorful and hearty. It was a heartwarming spoonful of culture and tradition. You can taste the bone broth and proteins that make this soup so amazing. The noodles were soft, fresh bokchoy, and delicious wontons. * Pork Soup Dumplings. A classic dish. No, they don't rival the larger chain dumpling shops in LA but these were still tasty and satisfying. I'd take a dumpling that's more modest as the drive was only 15 minutes with a zero wait time. Their dumpling dipping sauce was magical, sweet and vinegary, hit the spot. * Shrimp Fried Rice. Anytime I have dumplings I have to order some rice to catch all of the drippings from the sauce and juice, fried rice was calling my name. I love how light yet flavorful this fried rice is. It's no frills but just comforting. Topped with some chili oil - it's a feel good simple side. The restaurant interior was spacious and nicely decorated. It's a fairly big restaurant and I appreciate that they have a food ratio of booths but also larger tables. Very clean inside and comfortable. All in all this was a great spot and I stuffed my face for $50 after tip and had so many boxes of leftovers to take home with me. Big portions and a good value.

Not many super authentic Chinese spots to choose from in the area so this one is truly a gem around here. I got the cold platter trio and everything was delicious and they definitely generous with their portions, The price is definitely a little more $$ as if you were to get the same type of food in the San Gabriel Valley- but hey it's one of its only kind out here!

This was our 2nd visit and each time - the food was delicious. This most recent visit, we ordered: 1) dry pot intestine - this is a must get 2) seafood tofu pot - the tofu was so soft and flavors were spot on 3) hot & sour soup - decent 4) spicy eggplant in garlic sauce - this was delicious 5) cumin lamb - decent 6) bowls of white rice 7) 3 meat cold cut appetizers - tripe, headcheese, and pork tongue - good! 8) braised pork belly with napa cabbage - good

Finally! Delicious, consistent, flavorful perfection! I was guilty of ordering 3x in 2 weeks! FOOD: I ordered delivery through Postmates, etc... a few times over a period of 2 weeks. Each time was delicious. Each time was also consistent, which I appreciate. The food was flavorful without being overly salty. Over the different times that I ordered, I tried the Shrimp Chow Mein, Pan Fried Dumplings, Green Onion Pancake, Spring Rolls, and Shredded Pork with Beijing Sauce & Crepie. Everything was outstanding. My orders were always correct and it came pretty quickly. The presentation and portion size was outstanding as well! OVERALL: I would recommend trying this restaurant for takeout and delivery! I'm sure it's great for dine in as well! I have never dined in myself though. The restaurant even threw in a little freebie once, which is such a kind, generous gesture.

11/30/2024: came here for the first time with a friend who lives in the area. I was visiting and craving something "noodly" and Yelp recommend Yunnan! It looked pretty good, was so close by.. and when I saw they also have locations in Monterey Park I felt good about this choice! The place is small, but the menu options are extensive. They even have a freezer when you walk in where you can purchase various dumplings to take home to cook! There is a large cold item "salad bar" at the counter that's not listed in the menu. We were given a few things from the bar to sample, and every item was so tasty! For our first time, we chose the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wing appetizer. Generous portion on a platter, the wings were fresh and so crispy! Slightly different flavor profile than some other places I frequent, but still good. We ordered Item 23, the Lo Mein with Beef. Nice and saucy, the beef was tender and it had plenty of vegetables! Great for 2 to share. Item 33, the Green Onion Pancakes were so crisp, the presentation was lovely but on their own they needed a little "something". There was a seasoned vinegar on the table as well as a jar of chili oil.. just a little enhanced the flavor! The setting is very casual. Clean and well lit. The service was friendly and they were helpful to tell us about the menu offerings. I can't wait to come back with a larger group so we can try even more items!

Could this be the Best Chinese Food in Ventura County? Atmosphere: Pretty typical chinese decor handful of tables on the smaller side. Its loud there is a bar with unique local appetizers. Something you dont see anywhere outside of china town. Food: The Menu here is huge and extremely authentic. Think Chinese Cheescake factory. They have a bit of everything you could be looking for. The menu has English/Chinese with some local options that you have never seen. Hot & Sour Soup - Only sold in a large family style bowl, hot spicy and perfect, one of the best around. Yunnan Style Fried Rice Noodle - Spicy, chewy and SO much flavor Pan Fried Pork Dumplings - Juicy, crispy, meaty these are so good, You get 10 of them and they aren't small. Chung Fried Chicken Cubes with Hot peppers - This is so good, Spicy as heck but the flavor is bursting at the seams. Don't get this if you cant handle spicy. Orange Chicken - Crispy sweet and delicious with all white meat. Must get String Beans with Eggplant - For a veggie dish this is top tier, PACKED with flavor and cooked to perfection. Sauce Tip: ask the server to make you a dipping sauce for the dumplings, they add jalapenos and soy, vinegar and who knows what else SO GOOD. Drinks: Hot tea is served as you sit and is delicious. Allow it to steep for 5 min before drinking Price: Very affordable for the amount of food you get Parking: They have a lot in the back with plenty of free parking Service: Once you are seated the food comes out lightning fast. If you are coming to this place to eat you will be pleased with the service. If you are coming here for a fully catered multicourse meal with a waiter extremely attentive to your needs this isn't the place. Foods amazing and authentic a truly hidden gem in a town not known for its food.

You know the same people clean the bathroom as the kitchen. If this is an example of cleanliness... uh oh.

26 April 2025. We arrived at about 1:35. The food here is great. When you can get it. If you want table service, be the correct ethnic persuasion, or at least have someone at your table who looks like the staff. Our table was grudgingly waited on after several others that arrived, not a few minutes after us, more like 10-20 minutes after we did. Once the waitress deigned to give us an audience, we ordered three dishes. A "noodle" #8, described in the menu as "Wonton with rice Noodle in Chicken Broth". A pork dish, #90 Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce. A veggie dish, #108, Eggplant Tofu in Brown Sauce. We liked that hot tea was automatic. We didn't like that all other soft drinks were canned. Luckily the tea was good. The "Noodles" arrived first. They were actually a soup. This had a red broth, stuffed wontons with ground pork and sesame oil flavor, and small cubes of well seasoned meat. Not what we ordered. There were two problems with that. Nobody checked on us so we couldn't bring it up. And, luckily it was fine, so we ate it anyway. About 15 minutes later, the pork showed up. It was delicious with long pieces of stir-fried pork with julienned veggies and tree ear fungus. The portions were huge, so we happily conserved stomach space for the eggplant dish. It never arrived. We were planning to take our leftovers home for dinner. As we sat there looking sheepishly helpless, we finally decided to have seconds on the precious two dishes we were served; assuming that they "forgot" our third dish. So much for our dinner plans. We sat at that table for over an hour after receiving our first dish, as other tables around us turned twice. No eggplant. No checking on us. Nothing. The waitress wouldn't even look in our direction. It was really strange. I didn't want to believe that we were being ignored deliberately; it's so uncommon nowadays. I remember this level of prejudice from visiting the South in the early 60s; luckily this type of behavior is no longer tolerated. It was so blatant, though, we both had to accept that it was no mistake. Yep it was the real thing. I finally decided. That's it. I'm leaving. We seemed invisible. I decided to visit the restroom. Since I took my jacket and bag with me, it seemed to garner the attention of a waiter who had just arrived. He managed to notice my H looking helpless, who evidently asked for the check, which was there when I returned from the restroom. I was grateful that they saw their way clear to bring some to-go containers to our table, even though not enough for dinner. There were supposed to be two restrooms; one was out of service and the other was not very clean, with wet floors, dirt at the margins, and a nasty rag hanging on a rail behind the toilet. Oak Park is not a place we readily visit and we went out of our way to go here, based on so many good Yelp reviews. I'd say, if you want to partake from their buffet or freezer, knock yourself out. If you want to sit down and order from the menu, watch out. Or at least be Asian.

We were in the area so we decided to try this resto. Walked in and there were only two tables that were occupied and a worker was mopping the floors. So I got confused if they were open or not. There was no one at the front counter so I walked to the other side of the counter, thinking this place might be one of those fast food Chinese restaurants. To my dismay, I saw trays full of animal parts that I would never eat. I wish they would cover these trays cuz not everyone can stomach seeing those parts. Anyway, a waiter approached us and gave us the Menu. I asked if they were open and he said yes. I looked at the Menu and noticed they do serve regular Chinese food. We sat and decided what we want but no one really approached us. My husband flagged the waiter to take our orders: fried Rice, salt and pepper fish and pork dumplings. When the food arrived, I was shocked of the huge servings. And they are all good!!! Oh and after our food was delivered, a waitress came and she was more attentive and provided better service than the waiter we dealt with earlier. Overall, we might go back.... I just won't look what's behind the food shield.

It's hard to find good authentic Chinese food in the Conejo Valley so thank goodness Yunnan opened up here. This is legit Chinese food hence you will notice that many Asians dine here or come to pick up their takeout order. We've been multiple times and never disappointed. Love the cold dishes from the bar too, like the tripe. My favorite dish so far is the fish with preserved vegetables in clay pot! I would skip the soup dumplings though. The menu is big so you'll find something for everyone. Service can be a little slow at times but everyone seems very friendly and helpful.

Came here around 12:30 pm on a Tuesday for lunch during work. My boyfriend and I met up here. I came a bit early because my lunch hour is more flexible and ordered so it would be ready by the time he came. It wasn't super busy inside, about 4 tables of small groups taken with a few more open. A few Chinese coworkers have mentioned that this is the most authentic Chinese in the area and I would probably agree. I could smell the good food after I parked and was walking up. I was greeted immediately and I said that there would be 2 of us. I ordered at the counter and paid at the counter but you can definitely be sat and your order taken as well I think. My boyfriend pre chose 3 items: sichuan cold noodle (which I got spicy), eggplant with garlic sauce (classic), and Szechuan style braised pork with crepes (more like the foldable buns). I also decided to get xiaolongbao. Total was around $63 without tip but I automatically tipped because I knew it would be good. Food was ready within minutes, much faster than I expected. All the employees were very friendly and quick. They even provided a small bowl of cool dessert as I waited for my partner to show up. The food was still piping hot when he arrived. I was pleasantly surprised with the xiaolongbao. Although the skin wasn't extremely thin, the inside was very juicy and had great savory flavor! The premade soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar dipping sauce went well with it (a though a bit salty, I usually just prefer black vinegar). I'm sure they hand make all of them because they sell frozen ziplock bags of them for $33. For 50 dumplings, I would definitely buy this bag! Will have to do it when I bring a cooler so they don't melt in the car. The eggplant was delicious. Exactly what I expected and one of my favorite Chinese dishes. Perfectly blistered by a hot wok on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. The garlic sauce was fantastic and white rice is provided. The Szechuan cold noodle was also delicious. Reminded me of the ones my mom makes, although a bit more oily. Still super refreshing with the carrot and bean sprouts. Very delicious and would get again. My least favorite item was the braised pork but I'm usually not a fan of braised items. The presentation was great. The pickled veg helped cut through the heavy and fatty meat. Just because it was my least favorite, doesn't mean it wasn't delicious. I would get it again if other people were with us but not personally for myself. When we took leftovers home, eating it with cucumber really made me enjoy it more. I'm so happy to have finally tried this place! Will definitely come again for lunch more often and would even take family and guests here on the way to Malibu or Venture/Oxnard.

Feet and hands down Best Chinese restaurant in the west lake/Thousand Oaks area. My girlfriend and I met here for a bite during our time crunch lunch hour. She arrived a bit early and put in our orders a few minutes before i arrived. Coming here for the first time i knew it was a gem telling by their all Asian clientele also getting lunch here. The food was served with a few minutes and looked scrumptious! The portions are hefty and the flavors are incredible given the great ingredients. From everything on the table I think the Szechuan cold noodles were the standout. Their spicy kick did not overpower its other flavors and had great crunchy and fresh veggies sprinkled over the savory noodles. Very fresh entree perfect for the punishing heat. Their soup pork dumplings were also so juicy, steamy and packed with plenty protein. The dough was a bit on the thicker side but very delicious. Side note - they also sell frozen dumplings by the bag in their freezer out front. The restaurant was a special find that gave us all the reasons to return. Their service was amazing, the furniture was clean, and food was amazing. Certainly will try more items on their extensive menu.

The food was flavorful, the portions were generous, and it felt like the kitchen cared about what they were sending out. Unfortunately, today's experience was the complete opposite--and disappointing enough that I felt the need to leave this review. Order #1: Broccoli Beef The beef was largely fatty, chewy, and very rough to eat. It honestly felt like low-quality cuts that shouldn't have been served at all. The broccoli itself was undercooked, leaving it hard rather than tender. To make matters worse, the brown sauce was overly thick and completely lacking in flavor. It added nothing to the dish and only highlighted how poorly executed it was. Order #2: Chicken Chow Mein This dish was even more disappointing. The chicken portion was not even half of what it was just a few months ago, which was immediately noticeable. The noodles were smaller, dry, and bland, and the entire dish had absolutely no taste. No seasoning, no depth--just food going through the motions. This brings me to a larger issue that I've noticed not just here, but at many restaurants lately: to-go orders are not being treated with the same care as dine-in meals. It feels like once the food leaves the building, quality and pride go out the window. That should never be the case. People are still spending real money on these meals. We spent over $40 on today's order, and quite frankly, it was inedible. That's unacceptable. When customers are spending $40-$50 on takeout, the food should still be made with care, attention, and pride--just like it would be if it were being served at a table. To give the restaurant a chance to address the issue, I called and spoke with the manager before writing this review. Unfortunately, that interaction was just as disappointing. She offered a brief "sorry," seemed completely uninterested in the feedback, and made no real effort to address the situation or make it right. It felt dismissive and left me with the impression that customer satisfaction simply wasn't a priority. I genuinely hope management reads this and takes it seriously. This place used to be good, which is why this experience is so frustrating. Please remind the kitchen that every order matters, especially takeout. People are choosing to spend their hard-earned money here, and they deserve food that's prepared with care and respect. Based on this experience, I will not be returning or spending my hard-earned money at Lakeview Garden again.

Moderate wait time for food after ordering but nothing major - the food is worth it. I didn't think to take any pictures but would highly recommend the following: - Egg Drop Soup - Braised Short Ribs (sooo tender) - Pork Soup XLB (my personal fav) - Pork and Shrimp Dumplings - Shrimp Shumai - Pork Bao Buns (best bao I've ever had) - Chocolate Dumplings Go eat! After waiting, we noticed all the parties ahead of us had been crossed off and we were next. About 20-30 minutes later, we came back and saw two available tables that could accommodate our family of four. One waitress reminded another that we were "on the waitlist," and she then loudly shouted across a room full of customers, "We don't have any available tables right now." The way the situation was handled felt very dismissive and humiliating, especially in front of my children. It was disappointing because we had been looking forward to returning and spending a special family afternoon there. Thankfully, we walked over to Muzen Sushi instead and the experience there completely turned our day around. The sushi was excellent, the customer service was outstanding, and they made our family feel genuinely welcomed. Highly recommend Muzen Sushi.
