Combination chow mein with crispy noodles. Where the hell is the chow mein here?? Gave me the combination of shrimp and chicken but missing chow mein and the guy the I spoke to said the chow mein is the crispy noodles! This is a joke!

nope... egg rolls too much cabbage pineapple fried rice too spicy and filled with meat, pork chicken and canned pineapple (didn't ask for meat or spice. duh) sweet n sour chicken was breaded (yuck) and the red sauce was huh?

We love it here! Food is always delicious and good portions. We order a few different plates and everyone shares. My favorite is the sweet and sour chicken and salt and pepper shrimp. Give this place a try!

Our go-to Chinese restaurant! We always order takeout and have never been disappointed with the taste or serving sizes. Service is super quick so we never have to wait long to pick up our order. We love their Kung pao chicken and sesame chicken! We tried two new things this time - the 3 chili chicken and the chicken and broccoli. The 3 chili chicken is very spicy! We normally find anything up to the 2 chilis on their menu quite mild (and having to add chili oil), but this is true to scale! The chicken and broccoli was bland with an off texture - it tasted like boiled chicken and luckily we mixed it in with the 3 chili chicken to make up for it.

Honey Walnut Shrimp is a must!!! Shrimp and noodles, wontons, egg rolls and bbq pork fried rice and OH!!!! My shu pork!

I'm not sure what's going on with our usual go-to Chinese restaurant in Newbury Park, but after a…read moreyear and a half absence from getting takeout from them, they don't appear to be open. Their voicemail message continues to say "temporarily closed." So I started searching closer to home, which is a challenge because I don't usually view any Simi Valley restaurant as being worthy of our patronage... yet, I searched anyway. I found Bao Su on Yelp, so we decided to give them a try based on other Yelper reviews. Bottom line is that my husband and I were incredibly impressed with their food, not to mention, happy that it is so much closer. We ordered the following (takeout): Shrimp Fried Rice Shrimp with Lobster Sauce Szechuan Style Eggplant Sizzling Chicken Mongolian Beef I had a bit of a problem deciphering their menu because there weren't a lot of details as to ingredients, so I took chances and prayed they were dishes we've had before. Everything was delicious, plentiful and mostly recognizable... with the exception of the shrimp with lobster sauce. That was more soup-like and watered down from what we're used to, but it was still really good. All dishes were loaded with protein and vegetables, well seasoned and sauced, and textures were soft or crunchy, just as we knew them to be... and just as we loved them. We've since ordered from them again, and they were (very happily) consistently delicious. We are sooooooo happy to now have a LOCAL Chinese restaurant that we can trust and enjoy. We may even dine there and not do the takeout thing for a change. (I really would like to ask them what some of their other dishes are on the menu cuz I would like more options, truth be told. However, if the dishes above are the only ones I would ever choose to order, I'm fine with that, too.)

I can't believe that I haven't written a review for Yunnan Restaurant when it is one of the two…read moreChinese restaurants in the area that are my Taiwanese-parent-approved! Since its opening, Yunnan Restaurant has become a staple in our rotation for good reason. The pro-tip that I almost want to gatekeep is to go for lunch because that's the only way to guarantee that all of the best cold dishes are still in stock. My family's go-to is the vinegar potato strings, bamboo shoots, and sliced mushrooms, but we've recently also gotten into getting a side order of the peanuts with anchovies. The peanuts have a great sweet and salty roasted flavor and would pair perfectly with some rice. I could honestly be happy just ordered a big plate of the vegetarian cold dishes with rice, but it would be criminal to not order some of the noodles. The Sichuan style cold noodle is my absolute favorite item on the menu. It is vinegary, spicy, a little bit sweet, and super refreshing! The noodle texture is nice and bouncy, and the sliced carrots and scallions and blanched bean curds add a great crunchy texture. Despite being meatless, this noodle dish is absolutely satisfying and delicious! Most of the praises I sing are about this cold noodle dish, but their other items are also quite yummy. I enjoy the braised garlic seafood tofu dish, which pairs well with rice, and there are whole cloves of garlic that were braised with the seafood to be subtlety sweet and not at all pungent. Yunnan Restaurant really lives up to the hype!

Top notch authentic southern Chinese food…read more The yunnan rice noodle was beyond delicious, kind of like a Chinese pho with silky Chinese noodle This is definitely one of the best Chinese restaurant in the area I use to goto the original Monterey Park location back in college, and now Being able to get it here is definitely a win! I'm not from the area but visit a good amount. This was our first time coming here. We ordered crispy walnut shrimp, kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, edamame, dumplings & hot and sour soup & egg flower soup. They have great deals for their lunch specials. Around $12 for the main dish, rice, egg rolls, & soup. The edamame, dumplings (actually now that I think about it we ordered dumplings but I think we got potstickers but not their fault since the child that placed the order basically whispered it), & egg flower soup was kid approved. The mapo tofu is marked as spicy. When I placed the order she wanted to make sure that I knew this, which I appreciated. The dish had a good amount of spice. A bit of a kick but still enjoyable. I think it was a pretty big serving so I was able to take half of it home, which I ate for dinner. I can't speak for the other dishes, but those that ordered it said it was good. So no complaints there. The atmosphere was pretty calm when we were there since it was not that crowded at that time.

We ordered chow mein combo, their recommended Kung pao combo which brings shrimp, beef, and chicken, mixed vegetables, and steamed rice. I really enjoyed the Kung pao combo. It was packed w flavor and enough of each meat and shrimp. The chow mein combo was also flavorful but o think I've had better as well as the mixed vegetables. I wasn't too fond of the mixed vegetables, had this funky after taste. Inside was nice and had this fancy look to it. Plenty of parking in the mini shopping center.
