What a wonderful experience! From the atmosphere to the food and overall service, everything was amazing! We ordered the Brussels sprouts, chicken sliders, and brisket sandwich, and everything was absolutely delicious! Our server, Rania, definitely made our first visit that much better! She was an absolute pleasure....welcoming, attentive, and genuinely sweet. We'll definitely be back!
Tried the happy hour menu early this evening, and it was very good! We ordered the nachos with chicken $19. They looked small, but it was so layered we didn't even finish 25%. The chicken was actually very tender, and largely diced, I liked the guacamole and the chips were sweet. My son had the bowl of chili with a large portion of cornbread with honey butter, and he loved it. The cornbread was very crumbly, so it was difficult to eat. Great deal for $9! I had the beef corn tortilla street tacos for $2 each and they were delicious! My son also ordered a margarita and I had iced tea. Service was very slow, especially the time from when we were seated to when our server came to our table. After ordering, he left our menus on the table. We were never asked if I wanted a refill or if my son wanted another drink, or even a dessert. The waiter dropped the machine off at our table to pay and thanked us. It didn't feel friendly.
Ambiance is terrific, service was great. It was the kitchen that let us down today. Dear Hubby and I are big 49ers fans. So far this season they've only been on national TV once, so we've been trying different restaurants around town which will be showing the games. I really enjoy the interior layout of the main dining room at C&B. It's almost a feeling like going to a private social club. The walls feature niches with interesting "stuff" which add visual interest and texture to the space. DH and I sat at a high top table in very comfortable bar stools. We had several big screens to watch. Despite the Chargers also playing at the same time, along with assorted other teams, whenever the 49ers had a good play, there was more vocal reaction throughout the room than for any other contest. "Our" game was also the one they were playing the audio on. (Albeit too loudly - it was hard to hear ourselves speaking to each other.) Aside from the small selection of game-time deals on food and beverages, the menu prices are quite stratospheric. Most of the sandwiches are around $25. For a sandwich???!!! That's just crazy. We ordered the chili and cornbread, a deal at $9, however, the quality meat and beans ingredients were ruined for our tastebuds by heavy-handed heat. I could only manage a few spoonfuls. DH, who tolerates heat better than I do, could only manage a few more. My recommendation would be to go much easier on the spice level to appeal to more diners, while making hot sauce available for those who want more heat. The beef sliders were excellent, so that was one nice dish we enjoyed splitting. I felt ripped off on the virgin margarita I ordered, though. On the special game menu, a margarita is $6. Since I ordered a virgin version, it was $12, plus $1 for adding peach flavor. What?! It was tasty, but it wasn't worth that price point. In the second half, since we weren't eating the chili, we asked for the regular menu. There wasn't anything else in the game menu that sounded interesting or works with my dietary restrictions. We ordered the guacamole. At $17, it felt like another steep price point. The quantity was generous, and it was beautifully prepared. Thankfully, it wasn't too spicy. The big letdown was the chips served with the guacamole. They were very heavy - the texture of pita chips. I didn't care for them, but I wanted to enjoy the guacamole, so I had more than I would have otherwise. A much lighter style chip is something both of us would have preferred. DH did have one of the draft beer specials, which he enjoyed. However, almost $70 for some bar food which was hit or miss, a beer, and a virgin drink, seemed steep. We did like the atmosphere and service. Wish the kitchen had served up dishes that DH and I could have savored. The sliders were the only winners.
This is a great family night out!! Delicious food and great service. Their BBQ is fantastic. We started with the green goddess salad (just okay--dressing was good) and the corn bread. Corn bread is a must order!! For mains we got à la carte meat--the full brisket and tri tip. Both were fantastic. For cocktails we got the prenup (husband loved it), the spicy margarita, and the mojito. All were delicious! We already can't wait to go back!
Friend local to the area too me here as he wanted to try too. Our first thoughts were around there not being any individual bbq options on the menu. We shared the $55 plate and added rib for $12. The meat was good, tender and flavorful. The pastrami was especially good, but so rich it's hard to eat much of it. Half of the meat was served cooler than room temp, which was disappointing and it took quite awhile to come out (restaurant was prob 1/2 full. ). The brisket was basically fat with a little meat on it With this sampler platter you could substitute the sides but not the meats. Service was .... Wait did we have a server?? Yea. That is how it felt. The ambience in here is great. It is upscale and new in decor, and lots of tv. Surprisingly it wasn't super loud in there. Ratings Food: 3.5/5 Ambience 4/5 Service 2/5
I came here during opening and sat at the bar. It was packed and the service was friendly while the food was fantastic. I returned and was really disappointed. My soda was flat, no refills offered. My watermelon salad tasted like expired grocery fruit and lettuce. The pork ribs and wings are still delicious, thankfully. No one came around to ask how we were doing, hardly anyone was there, yet service was slow. I had to wave my hand a couple of times to get attention. While others around me got it immediately. While I was closing my bill, I got a lot of attention with the waiter hovering over me while I calculated the tip. I wanted to round out my bill but when I custom entered the number, it would calculate incorrectly. Seems like a lot could be fixed. Really hoping it hasn't lost its luster because I really hope they stay in business.
I've been to Cork & Batter a few times now, starting from when they first opened, and the food has always been on point! My first visit I ordered the Brussels sprouts, which I absolutely LOVED, and the C&B Smash Burger SOOOO GOOD!!! Another time I came during the day with my friend and her son because we were craving BBQ. They ordered the hot links, brisket nachos which were HUGE and the smoked brisket sandwich. I was craving something lighter, so I went with the Caesar salad. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of how their Caesar is served in wedges instead of being chopped up, but overall the food was still delicious! Most recently, I came over the weekend for a little date night and we had such a fun time! The late-night wings and drinks were soooo yummy, and the servers were super friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is lively and fun with a huge open space and A LOT of seating. They also have a dance floor and live music on the weekends, which makes it such a fun spot whether you're coming for dinner, drinks, a date night, or a night out with friends. The restaurant has always been very clean every time I've visited too. Definitely one of those places in Simi Valley that works for pretty much any occasion!
Want to love C&B Roadhouse again, wish they could re-create when they first opened The food and desserts were at such a higher quality, drinks are still pretty good! I know the newer crew is trying really hard, it was fantastic when it first opened, now that the new Manager is there, hopefully they can get back to that quality? See our pictures, especially my favorite, the St. Louis ribs, which they only make sporadically now, and the desserts, huge portions and tasty, service was a bit quicker. Fingers Crossed~

5 STAR TREATMENT The hospitality at this place is second to none! This place lives up to their recommendations! We were greeted and welcomed as soon as we entered the door by someone from the management team who happened to be walking by. Very welcoming as we let him know we were in the area showing homes and found them on Yelp. We were seated in one of their comfortable booths across from the bar. Large enough to fit a group of 6+ adults comfortably. There is a billboard section in eyesight with two pool tables and a large screen tv. The open layout consists of booths, high table seating as well as standard table seating, multiple TVs, all in view of the stage where weekly events host artists, karaoke, DJs, and dancing. You get a vibe that this is definitely the hangout spot for the community. One word embodies this charming and hospitable roadhouse... "FELICIA!" We sat in her section and felt like we were old friends reconnecting. Such a sweetheart that loves her customers genuinely, wanting you to have the best experience while in her care. NOW THE FOOD: Well, that's the reason we came right!? Lol It was everything the recommendations stated and more. Being gluten-free, it's really challenging to find great-tasting options, but it was not the case at Cork & Batter. I had plenty of options available, and my husband took the route of ordering the sampler planter because he couldn't decide. Although we were 80 miles away from home, we assured Felicia we will be back to bring our family foodies to this awesome place. Oh, I forgot one other thing. Everyone knew it was our first time dining there. Not only was the chef's food great, but he sent out additional items on the house for us to try!!! Cork and Batter Roadhouse was just lukewarm for me since their food came out lukewarm. No one wants lukewarm/cold BBQ'd meats 1- service was awful, took a good 10 minutes after being seated before a waiter came to take our order. It was 6 PM and not crowded and they had a ton of workers. I had to wave my waiter down to pay the bill. I love it when they have those handheld credit card machines and They've already tapped the 25% tip. Love it!! 2- we ordered the family platter of 4 meats and 2 sides. The pork ribs were spare ribs since it had that big piece of hard fatty cartilage at the end. We got a huge chunk of fat for the brisket. Did not know I ordered "fatty" brisket. Pastrami was over salty and did not have any texture. It was gelatinous. The sausage tasted like the Hillshire farm prepackaged sausage you can buy at Ralph's. Along with the grossness of the meat's, it was all lukewarm/cold at best. I ordered the seasonal vegetable and sweet potato fries. Nowhere on the menu that these were upgraded sides and I had to pay $2 extra for each side. For my sweet potato fries, it felt like I got the bottom of the oil pan leftover small pieces of sweet potato fries. I should just stick to my favorite barbecue place. Rattler's in Santa Clarita.
Wow! My better half and I have been coming here and love this place. Radia, Robert, Anthony, and Braydon have been fanatic towards us and treat us like family they love. The smashburger has been my goto favorite in the area. To make it even better, the chillis add a nice bit of heat and flavor. If you order the nachos...plan on not ordering anything else!!!! The smoke brisket was to flavorful and tender. The pork ribs were falling off the bone!!! Like I said, I cannot tell you how much I love this place!!! The Sunday football menu is solid and you cannot complain for the price and selection. If you havent stopped by, you need to!! To top off Cork & Batter, they have two pool tables, beer pong, connect 4, and corn hole. Family friendly, great food, and the hospitality is on point. (Sorry didnt take pics of the nachos and ribs. Or I just cant fine them on my phone)

Came here to check it out on a Monday. The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the wings with apricot bbq as a starter and they were good, didn't stand out too much. The smash burger is packed with fresh flavor and so are the fries. Finally a good gourmet burger! I haven't found a good one lately so I know where to come now! However, you don't need the fries when you have delicious Mac n cheese and baked beans for sides. Prob the best Mac n cheese at a Bbq spot. We also got the sampler which is great if it's the first time here. It brings 4oz of each meat from the pit with 2 sides of your choice plus cornbread and it's enough for 2 people. The cornbread is good and crispy, does the job. The ribs were delicious, the corn beef was also flavorful. The brisket was a little dry but not bad and the sausage was okay. Our waitress was Amanda. She was nice, welcoming and friendly enough to share some of her favorites. However, we were a little put off when we asked for a box and she completely took our plate away right after we said that and as I was enjoying some of the fries she took it away as well. I was shocked lol. She did say she is new so maybe she hasn't been taught to wait or ask if it's okay to take the plate away lol but it wasn't very pleasant. She might've been nervous. The restaurant has a very laid back vibe. Really clean and country with a modern twist. Theres plenty of seating from the bar area, booth, tables, and high tops. Theres also plenty of parking since it's in the Simi valley town center. I'm excited to stop by again especially for their all you can eat bbq for $49.99 on Tuesdays! read more

Went for the first time yesterday for my girl friends birthday and had the best experience! The decor, the music, everything was perfect! I want that playlist. But really the vibes were just great and the place is decorated so well! The staff was lovely. Everyone was sooo nice! I didn't get our servers name but we spoke with Isabelle towards the end and she was just so sweet and the best energy. The food! Sooo good. We all got burgers. I had the smashburger and it was delicious with fried onions and just so much goodness. The fries were amazing and the ranch was sooo good. The Brussel sprouts were so yummy omg can't recommend them enough. The only thing that didn't really impress me were the patata appetizer I think I expected more than just potatoes. Also the drinks were great. I had an espresso martini and it was great. Def will be back! read more

This is my first time at this establishment and I have to say that this was one of the best experiences I have had. Cork & Batter Roadhouse owes it all to Antonio. I've not had a bartender be so attentive, welcoming and inclusive when surving my friends and family. Once we paid, I marched straight right up to him and asked him when he worked next. My family and friends were heartbroken to find out he has limited time here. He has made such an impact that we will rearranged our schedules to see him next. The service and food were amazing. The new staff and management, general manager and whoever else came by to help us throughout the night were wonderful. The food was quite tasty It was such a honor to be a guest at this event. The turn out was impressive. The ambiance at our event was upscale, and hip. Not sure if today was an off day but they had a lot of missing items from the menu. Service was good. Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered chili as an appetizer good as a meal on its own or sharing between two. Corn bread was flaky and dry but the honey butter helped. We ordered the family platter for 4 which fed a group of 5 of us well with some leftovers - comes with 4 different meat options and two sides and cornbread. Mash potatoes was bland. Mac and cheese was average. The pastrami and the sausage links stood out the most. Pastrami was tender and flavorful. The brisket was overcooked. Ribs were too sweet in my opinion. Extra bbq sauce on the side for those that want more sweetness. Banana pudding was a nice treat at the end but also very sweet. Ambiance was casual. Good seating arrangement options for big and small groups. Love the fact that they have karaoke night and live music on certain days. Will check out another time. read more

Alright C&B, much better this time around! After my last visit certainly had my hesitations here. Some times an experience really does come down to who's behind the kitchen and who's serving you. Came with a buddy mainly for drinks and casual food. We ordered the Cork and Batter Nachos with brisket, pastrami sliders and charred street corn. I found the meat in both the nachos and sliders to be much better this time. Tender and didn't feel rushed. Street corn was loaded with toppings and a nice touch of spice. Would order these items again. Our waitress this time, Jessica, was awesome. She was attentive, helpful and friendly. A huge difference to my previous experience. Thank you!!! read more
