It's 2pm. We waited for a few minutes to get to our seats. Just like last visits. They probably just done with lunch crowd so it took a while to let us sit down. Service was friendly and quick. Food was okay too. Great nachos but not a fan of the blintz. I like the Blintz that is a thin crepe not a rolled pancake. Its too thick and take away the delicate flavor and not enough creme to moist it. Corned beef is good. So many things to try still. Will come.back again. read more

Jose is a fantastic server. This place is one of my favorites because of the 50's diner feels. I love it. Food is great. The staff all are wonderful and kind. They make you feel good while you are there. I grew up going to the one on Sherman Way in the valley. Today however it was a strange and different experience for me. Josephine was there and checking in on things. She was constantly asking the staff whose drink was their's and at one point proceeded to say loud enough that there would be no more drinks on the house for the staff. She kept asking people whose stuff was what. It's very unprofessional for her to be doing so in front of all of the patrons eating. Pull your staff to the back. Have a conversation back in the back. It makes me uncomfortable for the employees. It makes it hard to enjoy the ambiance because I feel for your employees. I'm amazed that no one has quit working there because of this. Be kind to your team lift them up so they can continue to help you be successful. Treat your employees how you'd want them to treat your customers. Because if you do that they will follow and go above and beyond for you. You may have been running your business this way forever. It doesn't mean you can't make some small changes to be better for your team. To all the Beeps employees please don't let her get you down. You all are wonderful and kind. Beeps Diner is tucked away in an old parking lot of Simi Valley. Retro theme with fun 50s and 60s memorabilia. As you walk in you are greeted by Marilyn Monroe. We have ordered beeps through door dash once before and decided to go in to eat. Portions are plentiful!! I got the deluxe breakfast which comes with two eggs, two sausage, two bacon, pancakes, French toast, potatoes and a side of toast. I skipped the pancakes and they offered me to replace it with more French toast. Holy smokes what a meal! For the cost it's definitely worth the money compared to many places nowadays. We also ordered the classic biscuit and gravy with a little extra gravy of course and the dish came out steaming hot! The gravy itself could be much better.. it needs a bit more authentic sausage flavor along with the biscuit but for what this place is its good. The scrambled eggs I received did taste like liquid eggs but everything else did taste really good. Staff was friendly and attentive. Take this place for what it is an old diner establishment great for the locals with food thats good enough. I would definitely stick with their French toast... especially topped with Nutella and strawberries you can't go wrong. read more

Been here many times. This time service was good. Food was terrible. Server was very apologetic, you would expect the manager to come by and apologize but that did not happen. I pretty much left most of my dinner uneaten. Note the last photo of my hash browns. The first photos were from a previous visit when the food was good. Not this time though, left feeling sick to my stomach. This chef has no clue how to cook breakfast food. Bacon was undercooked, ordered the eggs well done they were still wet. The hash browns were raw and terrible. Had an awful experience. The men's bathroom was quite dirty and there were no hand towels only an air dryer that is was so inefficient it wouldn't dry your hands. I used the hand soap and when I pushed the soap dispenser it shot across my arm. The toilet was disgusting and I left the restroom with my hands dripping wet. read more

Stopped by Beeps Diner in Simi Valley just for a cup of coffee. The bar was completely empty, but Jose the waiter rudely told us we couldn't sit there without any explanation. The waitress said nothing, which made it even more confusing. There was no reason for the attitude. Very unwelcoming experience, and customer service definitely needs improvement. read more

We stopped at Beeps on the way home from an event in LA, completely on a whim. The interior is fun and silly, more or less what you expect from a themed diner. The custom upholstered booths are rad. Service was good. We got a coffee, a sundae, and an apple pie à la mode. The coffee and the pie were great, but I couldn't eat much of the sundae. I should have gotten vanilla ice cream - the chocolate chip I ordered was super grainy, bad texture. I admit I'm sensitive to food textures, but I really couldn't eat more than a few bites. Surprised this place doesn't have better ratings, so I thought I'd add my 2 cents. Deducting 1 star for the nasty chocolate chip ice cream, though. read more

Longstanding, very clean diner in Simi where the food is decent and the prices more reasonable than other places in Simi - although their prices have increased! Service is excellent and the ambience is that of 50's and Hollywood theme. My experience was good. I had the "classic" corned beef hash, rye toast and eggs over medium. Food was hot, great and prepared as I ordered it. My friend had eggs, bacon (she thought it salty) and hash browns which were smothered in liquid butter. A perfect little 50's diner nestled right off the 118 in sexy Simi Valley. We had an incredible meal and loved its kitschy retro 50's Route 66 decor. The chrome details, the pink and turquoise neons, checkerboard floor, vinyl glitter booths, and of course a jukebox to go along with the various 50's icons statues scattered throughout. Our meal was nothing short of delicious and compared to other LA area diners that offer what I call "everything menus", Beeps's offerings rate at the top for me when it comes to taste. Drove up from West LA specifically for this diner because I am working through a list of all diners in LA County and I'm happy to say that I had a great experience at Beeps. The menu is one of the largest menus I've ever seen and inside is a true retro 50s style diner. It's a blast from the past and somewhere that would be fun for someone of all ages. Parking is also extremely easy because it's in a shopping center that has tons of free parking surrounding the restaurant. Everything that we ordered arrived quickly and our server was very polite. He stopped in and checked on as many times. We started off with a Cinnamon Roll, which was absolutely gigantic. It would be enough for four people to split and we hardly could finish it, but we both really enjoyed it. It was a great treat to start the meal. For my breakfast, I chose the California Eggs Benedict and honestly really liked it. The eggs were done exactly as I like them and the hollandaise was especially good. The portion size was large and the price was fair so I would highly recommend this place to anyone searching for a great diner or breakfast option. read more

I've been to Beep's Diner many times now. My daughter really likes their pancakes, so that's usually why we come. Most of the time I don't even eat here, or I'll order her a pancake combo and just pick at the eggs and sausage. I actually stopped eating their breakfast because it's almost always overly salty and just not that good. Today I made the mistake of trying the steak and eggs -- bad idea. The hash browns were salty like usual, and the steak had that weird taste that low-quality meat has. Service is consistently pretty subpar. The servers aren't very personable, which honestly wouldn't bother me if the food made up for it. The only things I actually like here are one of their salads, and the ribs dinner is good. That's what I planned to get today, but I didn't realize they don't serve it until after 3pm, so I went with the steak instead. Normally I eat before bringing my kid here, but since I thought I was getting ribs, I came hungry -- mistake. I really don't recommend the breakfast here other than the French toast. Even the pancakes aren't great, but my kid seems to like them, so here we are. Unfortunately, Simi Valley just doesn't have a lot of great places to eat, and this ends up being one of those "it'll do" spots rather than somewhere I actually enjoy. read more

Beep's is amazing! Cute 50s decor, a little noisy but not so it's hard to hear your table mates. Menus have more options than one needs in a great way. The prices are extremely fair, like $7 for a speciality burger. Burgers are a la carte but side are totally shareable across two to three people. Service is fun and friendly. How have I never been here before! What a fun little gem tucked in a strip mall! Statues of Elvis and Marilyn, 50s decor and music you can't help but sing along to and breakfast food that really hits that sweet spot! I got the Kings French toast and it had the perfect amount of sweet peanut butter, bananas, whip cream AND bacon ON the French toast! It was only about $11 and you could add a side of eggs AND meat for about $4! The waitress was kind and the kitchen was quick! We all got exactly what we ordered. We did have to wait outside, but only for about 15 min on a Sunday at brunch time, so not bad at all! There are mostly booths of 4 so keep that in mind when you go, we will definitely be back! read more

I wanted to go give this local place another chance. I ordered two waffles and was given 10 minutes time frame. I arrived snd paid, was told they would hand it over. Waited and double checked after another 20 minutes. Another employee set it aside and by now the waffle became a damp towel. I was informed they would remake it, and would take 5 minutes. 2 waffles took a total of 40 minutes, because employees here lack communication skills. Not acceptable period. read more

This was our first time trying this diner because we were in the area. Parking was easy to find, and when we entered the establishment, it was very hot. It seemed like they did not have AC and the fans were off. We were greeted by some careless host who took our name down and seated us about 10 minutes later. It's an old diner so the decor and furniture is pretty worn down and all the decor was super dusty. Another employee came and took our drink order. After several minutes, our server came and took our food order, and she was very friendly. Our food came out very fast for their being such an extensive menu. We ordered the Chilaquiles and the waffle. To the Chilaquiles we added chorizo and it was incredibly salty but the rest of the Chilaquiles were delicious. I added vanilla ice cream to the waffle which helped with the sweetness of it because it was way way too sweet and I didn't even use the syrup. The plates were very large and one plate is enough for two people. The pricing was pretty average for a diner in this area ranging from $15-$20 a plate. The service was efficient and friendly. In the end, I think we would return again and probably try something different maybe lunch items. read more

I came to Beeps Diner in Simi Valley with a friend just to have a cup of coffee. The place was not busy at all, and the bar area was completely empty except for us. The waitress never said anything to us, but suddenly Jose, the waiter, came over and very rudely told us we could not sit at the bar. He did not explain why, and his tone was unwelcoming and disrespectful. We were confused because there was no sign, no prior instruction, and no one else sitting there. There was absolutely no reason to be treated that way, especially when we were simply customers trying to enjoy a coffee. Customer service matters, and unfortunately Jose made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Because of this experience, I don't think I would return or recommend this place unless customer service improves. read more

As someone who is quite the foodie & has been to plenty of diners this one is definitely a place to check out in Simi! If you ever dined at Cafe 50s in LA on SM Blvd then you'll pretty much enjoy this spot too. Similar aesthetic, bigger with a much larger menu. I definitely enjoyed the Fried Zucchini. My go-to for any American diner is to see if they have a country fried steak & eggs and they do! Very family oriented & quite popular. Been going to Beeps for 5 years. Use to be a go to place for us. Seen a steady decline in quality and quantity in the food while the prices have increased. 2 years ago the St Pat's day corn beef and cabbage was great, so we went back this year, bitter disappointment. The potato serving was sparse and burnt. The carrots were under cooked and hard. The cabbage was not sliced, but clumped to a inedible stem. My corn beef was "heat lamp" dry with no flavor. My wife had a Reuben sandwich which was filled with the fatty pieces of corn beef hid between the bread. The best part was the after dinner cupcake and the service from our server. Can't believe I'm writing this review because we've been such loyal customers here and love coming here. This review isn't for the food because that was great except for a few hiccups like burnt toast for the open face turkey sandwich mountain or 2 of our beef dip sandwiches that needed to be changed since they ran out. This review is more for the embarrassment and inconvenience that was caused because the "reservation/heads up" I gave for our large party of 23 was overlooked. I called Thursday around noon to let them know that I was going to have a large party of 23 guests for lunch at 11:30 for today (Saturday). They lady on the phone said that was totally fine and that they would definitely be able to accommodate us and have it all set up and ready for us AND that she wouldn't want to lose our large party. She even said if I can come in around 11 and I agreed. She stated she would leave a note at the hostess' booth to let them know. Come 11:05a today, I show up with my family and the place is looking packed and not a single table free nor an area that looked reserved for my party. I figured ok cool I am early anyways. Checked in with the hostess and when I told her my name and reservation, right then and there I knew something wasn't good. She pointed to the note on her podium and look flustered. She said to give them 15-20mins. Ok great no problem (again I was early). Come 11:30 (mind you all 20 but 3 of my guests- who came from far distances were present), I check in again and still 1 table that sat 4 was the only table available. They said "another 20mins. The reservation is at 11:30 anyways." (Umm ya it's 11:30 and my table isn't ready, so don't try to be snarky with me!) I go back out and apologize to my guests and by now, all 23 of us are present (with kids hungry and restless). It's now a little past 12 and I go back in since they haven't called us. Again... nothing & all they can tell me was "oh we're just waiting for 1 more table to wrap up. We have a lot of large parties today." Well I guess my large party which was def the largest in that restaurant was definitely overlooked. By this time I tell them "if we don't get seated in the next 10mins, I'm taking my business elsewhere because this is absolutely embarrassing & uncalled for. I have all of my guests here on time waiting outside." Now I'm just standing there waiting and lo and behold at exactly 12:25 (you know 1 hour past my original reservation and 1 1/2 hours of standing waiting ) the entire back area finally clears up and they're scrambling to set up tables. Luckily our server was on top of it & got our orders. It was just a very disappointing, uncomfortable and embarrassing experience because it was my husband's bday and this where he wanted to celebrate his bday since like I said, we love Beeps and we're loyal customers who never had a single negative experience until today. What's worse is this was a first time for our guests to experience Beeps and we always rave about it. Luckily they all enjoyed their food so it took off some of the edge from the long wait and delay. I on the other hand felt so uncomfortable and just couldnt thoroughly enjoy myself because of how upsetting and embarrassing this was. As someone who likes to have it all planned out and be on time and on point, this was not ok. This is also my 5yr old's favorite place and she requested to have her bday here in May with our family BUT after today, I don't think I can make that wish come true because I can't risk another disappointment and embarrassment . So that leaves me with taking my 20+ guests elsewhere to celebrate. I had so much confidence in this place and we were so excited but this put a very bad taste. To add, not even an apology was given by the host/hostesses. Yes I get it you have a lot of large parties but you had more than enough notice for my larger party compared to the other "large parties" of 6-8 that were there. My party was overlooked and the host/hostess definitely did not have a good game plan for the day. Sorry Beeps, we'll be back for the food but know that I can no longer trust you for large gatherings. Today left such a bitterness in me and I'm one who doesn't like to complain. Today was just unacceptable & called for a complaint to be made. Do better and maybe one day in the far future I'll trust enough to bring our entire family back. read more
