First time visit to this quaint little spot in Simi Valley. The decor is kitschy in this small cozy diner. Whenever I go to a breakfast spot, I always try the biscuits and gravy and they came highly recommended by our server. They were very friendly and sat us right away and the first thing they brought to us was their complimentary house coffee cake. I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. The biscuits were as big as my face and tasted amazing. The gravy was a white gravy the kind you would normally find on a southern fried chicken steak. It was a very generous portion, however I prefer a more traditional gravy with sausage. Individually, though the gravy was tasty and the biscuits were tasty since they were both made from scratch. The bacon was thick cut and crispy just how I like it. Next visit I am going for pancakes. The customer service was amazing. Seriously top notch hospitality. If you find yourself in Simi check them out. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. No dinner service. Range: $$

I stopped by this restaurant in the morning to grab breakfast. Since I came right when they open, I was able to get the parking spot in the small plaza this restaurant is in. When I walked inside, I was their first customer of the day. The waiter said I can sit anywhere I like so I say next to the window. I went with the breakfast burrito and got a cup of fruits as my side. I asked what salsa does it come with and the waiter said the green salsa. My food came out quick and it was delicious. The green salsa was not spicy at all. The cup of fruits was a mixed of watermelon, grapes and cantaloupe which was good. The customer service was great and I didn't have any issues.

Every town has its hidden gems when it comes to small restaurants. Simi Valley has just one of these places, and it's called the egg house. We have been going there for some time now and have always been impressed with the food. Everything comes out hot, and looking really good. If you are traveling to LA, from LA, or just passing through, make this a must-stop for breakfast or lunch. The service is outstanding, the staff friendly, and the environment is cozy and welcoming. My wife and I highly recommend it.

The Egg House, on East Los AngelesAve in Simi Valley is a small breakfast/lunch location that has a diverse menu (open 6:30 am to 2 pm daily). Here you can find numerous items that are unique, in the popular categories of omelets, scrambles, pancakes, waffles, french toast, egg selections, mexican offerings, salads, soups and sandwiches, etc. When you sit at your table, you get a complementary piece of coffee cake. This is a wonderful touch at this eatery. The last time I was here, a year ago, my choice was the Huevos Rancheros. This time, the visit was specifically targeted to try their Swedish Pancakes. I asked for the powdered sugar on the side, they obliged and even brought the butter and pancake syrup on the side. I like that. In the middle of the 4 medium sized pancakes, arranged in succession, was their Lingonberries jam. For me, the beauty of the Swedish pancake, is its thinness, texture and unique taste of the cooked batter, especially when it is optimally browned. This dish checked all the boxes. I savored it with a few dabs of the butter and the jam (intermittently),so I could thoroughly enjoy the flavor of the pancake. Service here is always attentive and well executed. Easily one of my favorite places for breakfast, in Simi Valley.

I'm obsessed with this place the cutest little breakfast joint! Great environment, great staff, amazing food! I was obsessed with the banana nut pancakes! So good so much flavor, I mean so filling! Amazing food prices! We shall be back! We had amazing waitress, I didn't give get her name wish I did she was quick and so friendly! If you need a good breakfast spot! Here! Here! Here! I've seen a line out the door for this spot before! But we are early people so it works in our favor!

Food was delicious. I had the chilaquiles with chorizo and my husband had the blueberry pancakes. Portions are huge. They serve you a small piece of coffee cake while you wait for your food. My only complaint was being boxed into a corner and having to ask the table next to us to stand up and move their chairs in order to get out of our booth. Our server couldn't even serve our food properly, he had to reach over my husband's head to set the food down.

Got in right before the lunch rushed. Love how the decorated the place. It feels homey. Immediately served with a complimentary something like a cake..good because I was hungry. We had to wait for a somewhat felt like a loooong time, the food came out very late. Other table that came after me already finished their food. . I almost asked the staff if they forgotten about my table then I realized, good food take time, pancakes and salad are easier and faster. So be patient when they are busy. You won't regret it. At last, everything came. It's a bit on a warm side not hot but its delicious and we are happy. As soon as we are done, I asked for a box for my left over. I packed it. I put the fork down and another staff came to clean the table. He said, take your time, take your time then he dropped the knife on my right hand. I was startled and laughing and he apologized. Then he picked up other plate and again he said the same thing, ( I thought he probably was joking or sarcastically saying get out of here ) and then he dropped another knife on my right hand AGAIN. This time, I got a tiny poke? Cut? by the butter knife. This time, I wasn't smiling anymore because of the situation and I felt a little pain on my hand. Well, since i like this place and the person that served my table is very nice, I will try it again next time. My advice is... when you are busy, sometimes its better not to throw a joke or a comment or a knife at your customer.

Rubbery glob of eggs with the slice of processed cheese slapped on top.

We ordered three main entrees and a side of fruit. The biscuits and gravy, the omlette, and the Hawaiian pancakes. We have ordered here before and had a great experience, but today we were very surprised to see extremely poor food quality. For one, they forgot the gravy to our biscuits and gravy, which was a huge disappointment. The eggs for the omelet were a rubbery glob with a slice of processed cheese melted on top. The pancakes themselves were of poor quality and the toppings looked so haphazardly placed that I had to laugh. As someone who works in food service, it was embarrassing to see. And then, to top it off, our fruit was also old and beginning to mold. Absolutely appalling and I would have been ashamed to serve this to a customer. Unfortunately, this was it for us, and we will not risk our money here again, as our order totalled roughly 30 dollars overall.

Neon lights, cute signage, and overall they just did a really great job with the design and execution. There's a lot going on but it doesn't feel cheap. Ambiance is definitely A+. For dinner on a weeknight we found this spot wasn't too busy but we also came after happy hour. It was a relaxed vibe. Service was overall pretty good. I felt like all of the gals working were very very sweet and nice. Also, anytime we stopped them to ask for refills and such we got what we asked for. That's my only upgrade as since it wasn't super busy, it would have been nice for the staff to catch the refills on water or salsa on their own/more proactively but hey, it was again a relaxed lowkey night and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. I'm just curious how the service would be if they were super busy? Now on to the food and drinks. The menu was very impressive! Solid cocktail and drinks menu. I'm bummed I didn't get a cocktail but my party doesn't drink so it was more fun to get an agua Fresca with them. The guava one was good and served nicely chilled. However, next time I'll definitely get a cocktail because their drinks looked fun and beautiful. The food was definitely the standout for me. I ordered the cheese enchiladas Suizas and they were a 10/10. Not comparable to most enchiladas I've had but the sauce was fantastic and unique. I really loved these enchiladas and I'd honestly get them again. Solid flavor in the rice and beans as well. My friends also enjoyed their meal and it seemed like everyone was happy. The pricing is a little steep for Mexican food but also the ambiance and presentation make sense to me why it'd be a little more. For the three of us the bill was over $100. And that's for three mains and three non-alcoholic drinks. Normally at $33-ish a person I'd hope for at least a beer with my enchiladas, so keep that in mind. As a special occasion place or a spot to celebrate this spot is truly fantastic. I honestly loved my meal so much that even with the price point I'd rush back and bring more friends because this spot is vibey. Nice staff and a cute spot to diner, 5 stars in my books given the quality, taste of the food and the overall experience.

I also saw they had a taco flight. I knew I had to try those as well. I wanted to try all the different meat options to find the flavors I like. The Birria taco was my favorite flavor. Some of the meats were a little dry. I wish they had a little more flavor to them. They gave me two different salsas to add and that helped. But I would definitely like to see the flavors of the tacos improve. I always crave sushi. That was a must try for me. I thought I would try the fiesta mariachi roll for the first trip here. It was delicious. I'm craving more! I think next time I will have to try some of the other sushi options since this one was so good. Also since they basically have flights for everything..... I would love to have a sushi platter flight... with my margarita flight! I will definitely go back. I can't wait to try more menu items. The staff was all very attentive and friendly.

There are dining rooms and a bar area for further relaxation! The welcome was quick and warm, and the service was great. The menu itself is just as odd, almost like a child drew it with crayons, so I took a while to make sure I didn't miss anything, even though I pre-planned my attack on Yelp and their website. If you go in summer do not skip the Japanese ice, The ice is flown in from Japan, and I had the strawberry. It was absolutely delicious--light, delicate, and incredibly refreshing. It's a special seasonal treat you won't want to miss. I also took a picture of the Matcha ice. I purchased the strawberry ganache pastry and also got a Matcha ice drink to go on ice. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. I also always appreciate a self-serve water station that's so pretty and maintained. Every aspect of Le Hérisson is so elevated, beautiful, and thoughtfully curated. My only little suggestion would be to consider putting the more delicate pastries, like the raspberry ganache I ordered, in a small box rather than a paper bag. Something this beautiful deserves to arrive looking just as beautiful--and mine unfortunately got a little smooshed on the takeout What an amazing hidden treasure to have right here in Simi Valley. A French-Japanese pâtisserie this special feels like such a wonderful find, and the easy parking makes it even better. Thank you! Support local.

I honestly don't know why I waited so long because wow everything was delicious. The flavors were bold, rich, and absolutely delightful. I ordered the Popeye, a fresh-baked puff pastry with egg, bacon, spinach, and Parmesan cheese, along with the Caprese Danish, which was my absolute favorite! It reminded me of a margherita pizza, and I will definitely be ordering it again. For my drink, I got the Iced Chocolate Blend, and the little girl in me was screaming with excitement it was so rich and delicious, almost like a lightly thick chocolate malt. It definitely did not disappoint! The restaurant itself is super cute, with both indoor and outdoor seating available and awesome music playing throughout the café, which creates such a fun and lively atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and worked hard to keep up with the morning crowd, all while greeting everyone with a smile. One suggestion: Le Harisson should showcase their drinks more because the Iced Chocolate Blend deserves way more attention. Highly recommend! They also have a great variety Matcha and Japanese Teas MUST TRY!
