This place has been on my list to try for awhile! I'm glad I finally made it to enjoy a place that is surely enjoyed by many as people keep coming and going with boxes of delight! I'm impressed with how many different bake goods this small bakery puts out! Not only can you get sweet, but they also have savory delights! Plus arrange of drinks, including matcha from Japan and teas from France! Tight seating inside but plenty of tables! One table can be enjoyed outside. The music is pumping out French tunes and other soft gentle songs! Super friendly serve that was kind in helping me choose from all the delightful choices! Definitely a place worth visiting.

Happened to be in the area and heard about this bakery. They have a large variety of breads. Tried quiet a few items since likely won't be in this area soon. 1. Popeye* 2. Caprese danish* 3. Curry bread* 4. Egg salad bread 5. Jalapeño bacon bread* 6. Spinach bacon quiche 7. Espresso almond croissant 8. Pistachio croissant 9. Matcha almond croissant 10. Lemon brioche 11. Donut 12. Cherry danish 13. Yuzu lemon drink* 14. Matcha strawberry drink The drinks are pretty big for the price compared to L.A. Felt the savory breads were better than the sweet especially if you crisp them up in the oven. Overall 3.5

Le Herisson my favorite bakery in Simi Valley. They've perfected their Strawberry Croissant and make admirable attempts with their drinks and other pastries. They're not without their faults, but my love for that perfectly sweet Strawberry Croissant lets me look past them. The staff aren't very talkative, but you can tell almost all of them are sweet and happy to help. There is one staff member that I try to avoid. She isn't rude. Just grouchy and not the type of interaction I want when I'm excited for a sweet treat. It's rare to find a bakery with quality pastries, plenty of parking, and reasonable prices. Le Herisson still seems to be flying under the radar, but don't wait too late in the day to pick up your Strawberry Croissants because they always sell out!

Le Herrison, is a unique destination in Simi Valley in that, it is both a Japanese and French bakery. What a lovely concept. So I had to go there to see what it was all about. It is a small dining space, but clearly very popular. In the baked goods display, there are numerous freshly prepared breakfast items. You can also have it for lunch :) Many of their products are unique, because I have not seen them at other bakeries. Yes, there is the standard croissant, the danish and there are different varieties, off other staples that you would expect in a bakery. I was immediately attracted to the jalapeño bacon bread, optics and all. It is like a mini loaf generously topped with its colorful ingredients. What attracted me most about it visually, was that there were lots of jalapeño slices. I had to have it. And yes, when I took it to go, warmed it back at home, several hours later, it held up. It was truly fantastic. Fresh and abundant jalapeño heat and mouth sensations. The dough in the bread is actually Japanese, nice and soft had the right chew, a distinct taste so much so, that you couldn't stop eating it. This place was a good find for me. I saw so many other mouth watering selections on display. I will have to go over the mountain again, get back into Simi Valley, to taste more of their daily changing menu. Service was excellent.

The aroma as soon as you walk in is just heavenly! It's what dreams are made of lol. Super fresh and warm, you feel as if nothing could get better than this.... UNTIL you take your first bite!!! When I thought everything looks stunning, the staff continued to bring out more items and placed on display. I went to order twice. Contemplated a third to be honest. Amazing variety from savory to sweet - I'm sure there's something for everybody here. The customer service matches the presentation and quality of the pastries. The interior is super cute and cozy, filled with hedge hogs and delicate design. Numerous tables and a bar top by the window. I believe there are tables outside as well, but it was way too cold that morning. They do have a drink menu! I ordered an iced hojicha with oat milk. Unfortunately, it was lacking and tasted a majority of the oat milk. Next time I visit, I'll be opting for a latte or matcha instead. I ordered the pistachio croissant and the Popeyes to eat there. To go, I ordered the mixed berry danish and the white chocolate matcha croissant. Pistachio croissant (4/5) - beautiful and just the perfect crisp/flakiness. I wish it was a bit more potent for pistachio flavor but it was well balanced and truly enjoyable. Decent portion as well. Popeye (4/5) - great breakfast option with spinach and egg. It won't fill you up, but it's a nice item if you're on the go or want to balance your sweet tooth. Mixed berry danish (3/5) - fresh berries were phenomenal and the structure held up well all day. However, the custard or whatever filled the pastry was a little flavorless. The texture was nice though. White children matcha croissant (4/5) - beautiful paired to compliment each other. I like that it was dipped on one side because if it was covered any more with chocolate, it would be too overpowering and wouldn't allow any of the matcha to come through. The pearls were cute and fun to eat. The matcha was not overly sweet and I really liked that. I can't wait to go back and eat my weight in fresh pastries!

Came here around 7:30 am, on a Friday. We thought the place would be quiet, nope. It's a small cute place. Maybe 6 tables that were mostly occupied. Probably 6 people in line, but the line moves quickly. They have a ton of delicious looking pastries, some are sweet some are savory. We had the espresso croissant, a chocolate banana croissant, an egg salad tart and a potato pesto tart. Everything was amazing. The croissants were light and flaky. They had a nice crunch followed by buttery notes. The filling was distributed throughout the whole pastry. The egg salad was reminiscent of the egg salad in Tokyo. The potato had great flavor on its own but the pesto gave it a beautiful herbaceous finish. Every pastry was perfect. We will definitely come back to try different items

I haven't seen an actual good bakery in a while! This one was very impressive! I always travel to Japan and has top tier bakeries in the world! So when I found this place, it just gave me those vibes every time I went to a Japanese bakery. I couldn't believe they have legit Japanese pastries but everything looked so delicious! The atmosphere felt like I was in a French bakery. From the music, to what I believe was the owner in her chiefs outfit and of course, all of the different pastries. There's so many choices that I would have to come back several times to taste everything. Also, the coffee was great too! I've been to other bakeries and the coffee is always water down. Overall, service was great, we devoured all of the food and left nothing behind and can't get more legit than this place. Definitely coming back to try other pastries!

Wow - Le Herisson is still sporting a five star rating with almost 300 reviews. That's well-deserved high praise from the local community and visitors lucky enough to have found their way to this French/Japanese bakery cafe. It's a true gem for Simi. They're only open Thursdays through Sundays, so you need to plan your bakery fix for those days. Their pastries are Outstanding, specially any of them involving the flaky perfection of croissants, or croissant-adjacent offerings. We took our sister-in-law and two nieces when they were in town in late July. They were duly impressed. So much so that the next morning, SIL was up early and made a run over to the cafe for a specialty coffee and brought home pastries for all. Yay! Dear Hubby and I go over at least once or twice a month. We prefer to eat there, if we have the time. The petite tables placed closely together remind me of cafes / bistros that I've experience in Europe. DH has been making runs to Le Herisson lately on game days. He'll pick up an eggy pastry for each of us, and then something sweet to share. Today I was blown away by their egg salad on a super-fresh croissant. The egg salad is made with Japanese mayo, an extremely light interpretation of mayonnaise with minimal tangy vinegar taste. They also do a rounded pastry with egg salad inside that is also delicious. As for their sweet options, there are many rotating flavors to enjoy like pistachio, mango, pineapple, pear, and, of course, chocolate. Thankfully, the baker and her staff are there to answer questions as they serve up the beautiful confections into distinctive bakery boxes for their patrons. This bakery is most definitely legit!

Love everything at Le Herisson! The espresso croissant is amazing! The chocolate croissant has the perfect balance of Crossiant and chocolate. The egg Popeyes are delicious for something savory. All of the pastries are fresh and high quality. You can't go wrong with anything at Le Herisson!

I ordered a variety of pastries to go- they have a great selection! Service was quick and the line grew long after me. I ordered the Matcha almond croissant, peach danish, pear danish, cherry danish, and pistachio croissant. I love the variety in fruit danish- the pear one was my favorite because of the light flavor and layer of chocolate. I also ordered a Hojicha Latte- and to my surprise came in a very large cup! It was delicious with its strong, roasted flavor. Such a hidden gem in that shopping plaza next to the Stater Bros. Parking- big lot shared with other businesses

I've been here a couple times with friends and family and it's a hidden gem! They have lattes, matcha, and other drinks you can sip on while you eat your pastries. The sausage in my chefs special was perfectly snappy and went so well with the jalapeño bun!

Le Herisson is an amazing French Japanese bakery with delicious treats! I always go in the morning for croissants, danishes and either their ice matcha latte or hojicha latte. This is my favorite bakery in Ventura county. Highly recommended!

Love the decor here. Come early to get all your favorite. By 1:30 pm, most stuff are gone.
