Carrara's pastries are absolutely delicious. I really enjoy the strawberry cheesecake, the Nutella Crostatine di Cereali, and the Shortbread Sandwiches ( they offer them in apricot, raspberry, or Nutella). Everything tastes fresh. Their packaging is also beautiful, which makes their pastries really nice for gifts or bringing to gatherings. I prefer ordering pastries ahead of time and picking them up rather than dining in, and overall I've had mostly good experiences doing that. I did place a pickup order today that was supposed to be ready at 9:45am, but when arrived shortly after that they hadn't started putting it together yet. To be fair, they seemed very short staffed and they gave us some freebies for the wait, which was appreciated. One thing I don't love is the tipping setup. I completely understand tipping when dining in and being served, but it feels uncomfortable being prompted so aggressively for a tip even when you're just grabbing a box of pastries to go. Tip culture everywhere is starting to feel a little out of hand. I'll also be honest that I ordered their Thanksgiving meal a couple years ago and unfortunately it was pretty inedible and not good at all. That said, I haven't tried their lunch sandwiches or dined there for lunch before, so I can't speak on that side of the menu. I still keep coming back because the pastries themselves are truly excellent.

I thought it was great. The seating inside and outside were comfortable. Lots of space and greenery. The pastries looked and tasted good. The coffee was great. So many good options for vegetarian food on the menu. Tasty. Very kind, quick, and helpful staff. I didn't have any, but there are also multiple kinds of interesting gelato to choose from. The bathrooms were very clean and minimal. And it was a clean and relaxed environment. It has high ceilings but it's comfy. I was surprised that it was so expansive. I think it's a good place. It made me happy. I recommend trying it.

Had an early Mother's Day dinner here after a local suggested it. Everything was amazing. The vibe was adorable. Had the spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, and lasagna. Started withy heir special for the night as an appetizer and it was delicious. Ended with two pastures and had a bottle of red . Everything was delicious, but I think the lasagna was the favorite.

Whenever I come back home for the holidays, I make visiting Carrara's a MUST. The interior and various pastry, gelato, and wine offerings are always displayed so beautifully and adds to the Italian vibe they set. My all time favorite dish is the salmon fettuccine! So flavorful, tasty and balanced with a large and generous amount of salmon and well cooked zucchini and cherry tomatoes that balance the dish wonderfully. We also ordered small gelato in the flavors Carrara and Giandiu which was a sweet way to end the meal. Mason, our server, was very kind, attentive and helpful! He definitely adds to the warm welcoming atmosphere. Can't wait til my next visit home!

We had a wonderful experience last night at Carrara's. Our friend group had enjoyed the holiday show at the High Street Arts Center and were planning to have a meal afterward. We don't always join the group as they have season tickets and we pick and choose performances. They have visited various places on their theater days, but none of them were familiar with Carrara's, so I had suggested it. One of our friends made a reservation ahead of time, so the restaurant had a table set up for us in advance. They were ready for us, even though the show let out early and we arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation. Michelle took excellent care of us. Most of the group shared entrees, as they are generously sized, especially the chicken dishes. Dear Hubby and I shared some samples of our respective orders with each other. I was quite hungry and finished my entree of gnocchi. It was supposed to come with pesto sauce, but I thought that would be too rich, so I asked for marinara with a side of pesto. That allowed me to drizzle the pesto sauce on top and enjoy both signature Italian flavors. It was delicious! The gnocchi itself was among the lightest texture I'd ever had, which made it the opposite of heavy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. DH's Chicken Milanese was prepared in a wonderful style, as well. His came with a side salad. It would be nice to have a small potion of pasta with it, I would say. I saw a lot of plates cleaned down to the porcelain with just a smidge of sauce left. One couple especially enjoyed the shrimp pasta dish after having the caprese appetizer. DH and I encouraged the group to check out the dessert options. We followed our own advice. He went for the rum baba pastry, and I tried the Trilogia chocolate masterpiece. I also had a smooth decaf mocha cappuccino with oat milk. No one left hungry or without their taste buds being taken to a happy state.

Went in for dinner on a Friday night. There was live music and we were seated on the other side of the restaurant, so it was a good background noise and we could still talk. Ordered fried calamari and it seems they've returned to the generous portion of veggies added to the calamari (yum). Dinner was the meatball sandwich, which was always good, but if you've come back in the day, it no longer comes with the broccolini. My wife said her fries weren't as crispy as before, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Our werver was attentive and friendly, even catching me when I forgot to put away my credit card .

We popped in for dessert and were warmly greeted by the owner. The Frittelle is a decadent fluffy pastry filled with pastry cream and oh so delicious. The Sfogliatelle, a pastry with crispy layers and filled with ricotta cheese and orange zest, is unique and satisfying. We also enjoyed a rum baba dripping with rum. A guitarist was playing live music which really added to the ambience. You can order pastries to go in beautiful gift packaging. It would bring a smile to anyone.

I've been here a few times for the bakery items and they are all soooo yummy!! They have a great selection. This time we went for lunch and ordered the meatball sandwich which was very tasty! They split it for us and put it on two different boards which was appreciated. The truffle fries hardly tasted like truffle and they were cold. The side Caesar salad was disappointing and didn't taste like a Caesar. The service was accommodating to our large group and brought out waters for us which is normally a self service. We also ordered a cake and they sliced it up for us and brought it out after we finished our meal. The ambiance inside is nice as well and there is plenty of seating.

Wonderful desserts that are not too sweet. The flavors are delicate. The only con is that they are pricey.

Ask the Community - Carrara's Pastries

Are there vegan dinner options, please?

I think I did see some on the menu if you look them up it should tell you!

Vegan options for dessert or lunch?

Yes, but as far as I know, there is only one vegan dessert option. I could be wrong.

Do they have non-dairy birthday cakes?

They have a catering line- I'm sure you can request!

Oh how I wish you would make zeppoles? Wonderful dollops of fried dough served in a brown paper bag with lots of powdered sugar.

They have these amazing pastries called fritelle that are similar - rolled in sugar instead of powdered sugar and filled with a delightfully light chantilly cream.

Much to my surprise, it was about as lively as I had remembered it. The Alley was established during Covid times and offered a retreat to escape from the humdrum of the homestead. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. At the end of the night, my light pinot paired perfectly with the Mushroom Arugula pizza from Fire & Vice. And I felt right at home, surrounded by friends.

My husband got the Mexican mocha and said it was good, but both our drinks had way too much ice. We also ordered sausage and egg croissants. I came here to try out California Bun, an eatery that has harnessed an interesting (long overdue) concept, to package portable food. Here they prepare snack sized bites (or a little more) of favorite food fancies, enveloped in a daily fresh baked round brioche bun. The store is high ceiling, spacious and large, with ample space to dine in or carry out. It is a mom and pop joint, that is slowly but surely, beginning to make a mark. On the main wall, elegantly displayed, are all the many enticing varieties, for the day. My visit was designed to take something to go. The conundrum here is, what to order, because there were so many inviting choices that were talking to you. I finally decided to select three of these evenly browned and differently topped buns. The El Sabroso (Egg, cheddar & jack cheese, bacon & Jalapeno salsa, garnished with Cheese, bacon & jalapeño). The Roadside Burger (Seasoned ground beef, grilled onions, white American cheese, & secret house burger sauce, garnished with Cheese & bacon). The Mac Daddy (Creamy mac and cheese with a cheddar, jack, and parmesan cheese blend, garnished with Panko bread crumbs). So whats the verdict? The Mac Daddy was my least favorite. In comparing the other two, the Roadside Burger seemed to have the higher of (inside filling/inside bread) ratio, as compared to the El Sabroso. However, the latter is the most attractive bun on the outside and overall, contains a good mix of flavors and slight kick. Any food with a visible Jalapeño is a magnet, for me. Still, this concoction needs more of the egg mixture, to achieve the right balance. In general, all 3 buns were soft, had a nice texture, bread taste and chew. Service here is warm, inviting, friendly and informative.
