My drink was so good, I wasn't even thinking about writing a review about it until I finished. Bucky showed up and showed out. I arrived today in the early evening, unsure what kind of frappe I wanted to try. Like a seasoned tour guide, Bucky walked me through, not only the differences between the two flavors I was thinking about, but the customized options available. He answered my questions in a way that demonstrated a keen awareness of what he knew and what he didn't, his honesty adding to the persuasiveness of his natural, unforced selling. I landed on a Mocha-ccino with oreos ft heavy whipping cream and cold brew coffee, and let me tell you: I grew up in church as a child, but I didn't believe there was a god until I took a sip of this drink. Icy. Balanced. Sweet, just enough to let the flavors of the drink dance and prance in my mouth, without burning my gums with the overpowering sugar content I was used to receiving in other coffee beverages. If Coffee and Gelato got married, my Mocha-ccino would be their baby. Carrying the strengths of each parent while offsetting their weaknesses, this drink is worth spending my Chipotle tip money on. Every week. For those interested in upgrading their Frappuccino experience from milk to heavy cream, don't even start crying about the $0.95 upcharge they include. Listen: the upcharge is an UPgrade. They should be charging $3+ for the value of this hidden gem. If money's tight, I get it. Go recycle your soda pop cans and beer glasses, and you should be able to come out break-even (or better yet, just stop buying the drinks). Customer service is also refreshing here. Devin recognized me when I came in (and I've only seen her once before), a welcome that paired well with Jenna's positive, subtly upbeat energy (an energy level somewhere between Winnie The Pooh and Tigger). We're pretty loyal to a certain chain of coffee purveyors, and we get rewarded with their loyalty program. We've been in this area of Thousand Oaks a lot recently due to medical appointments nearby. I'd noticed that there was a newer coffee place on the boulevard and suggested to Dear Hubby that I wanted to try it. It's very attractive inside with an artistic flair to the architecture and the decor. We were nicely greeted the second we walked in the door. The friendly cashier answered questions about the options. I ordered a vanilla frappe with added lavender flavor - decaf with oat milk and no whipped cream. It was creamy and delicious! Such a fun changeup from some of my other go-to orders at the other chain. Speaking of chains, this small local group of coffee / gelato / baked goods delectable offerings is said to be family-owned and expanding around Ventura County. They do offer gelato, with several vegan options. Will try that another time. I really enjoyed my frappe beverage, and DH went with a savory filled croissant. He reported that it was excellent. We sat outside on their patio area on the east side of the shop. It extends quite a ways along the building. There's a pedestrian area in between Honey Cup and a sushi bar to the east. A serene water feature anchors that zone, adding some serenity to sitting outdoors and lingering over your food / beverage. They feature a lot of yummy looking baked goods, in addition to the coffee/tea selections and the gelato bar. Now that we've tried it, we will certainly be back. read more

I never even knew such a pastry existed! The sweetness was about the level I can stand without being cloyingly sweet. I trend towards savory, but I tried half and it was plenty. The cafe is so brightly lit and beautiful with the most excellent service! I bought a fruit pie as a gift & my husband tried the cowboy cookie which was delicious! I am looking forward to trying more flavors -- I will say the prices seem more on the expensive side especially for this area (on par with bakery pricing from Santa Monica/West LA). The parking might be tight given it's just street parking with some limited parking in the adjacent parking complex. Wow! This shop has only been open for a day and it's killing it with good offerings! If you want a solid European sandwich, pastry or gelato, then stop in! I stopped in for a drink and ended up with a warm prosciutto and Brie baguette sandwich! The sandwich is solid: crisp bread and flavors that melt in your mouth! Make sure u get heated up! Plus yummy desserts are offered that are made fresh daily! They are so cute looking: so French! The shop offers both indoor and outdoor seating. A nice outdoor patio with plenty of shade. I have been to the other Honey Cup locations and enjoyed my experience so I wanted to give this one a try. I visited this location during their soft opening. Parking might become an issue with this location, but I was lucky and there was street parking available. The only parking option is street parking, which is limited. The interior of Honey Cup is cute. I love the "Honey, I'm home," sign. The employee who was taking orders was friendly and nice. I decided to get their cinnamon toast crunch iced latte. It is definitely a treat because of how sweet it is, but it is delicious. I am impressed at how thick they make their cold foam. The cold foam is maple flavored and then topped with the cinnamon toast crunch cereal. The cereal sits on top of the foam and doesn't fall through which is impressive. I was planning on getting food when I was there, but thought they food prices were expensive. It was a little more than I wanted to spend on simple items like a chocolate croissant. Seating is mildly limited inside, but pretty nice seating area outside; unfortunately I went with my sibling on a day when the sun decided to burn every living thing outside so we tried our best to find a corner spot inside to study in to avoid the heat. The lucky charms latte was rly good, it reminded me that cereal exists and is a pretty good snack. My sister got a freddo (I think) it was also good, just very strong so when we mixed the latte and freddo together it was the perfect mix of just slightly sweet and strong coffee. We both left the cafe being productive and extra caffeinated. I appreciate the workers who allowed us ample time to read the menu and decide what we wanted :) read more

Stopped in on a late Sunday morning. My husband ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Latte and I ordered a Cold Brew with Half and Half. The latte was sweet and flavorful. The cold brew was ok, but I thought it was odd there is no option to add cream yourself and you have to pay .95 extra to add it. Above all, appreciate there is both a gluten free and vegan item to devour: the chocolate ricco muffin was my scrumptious delight. Plenty of in house made pastries and choices of drink. Stopped by Honey Cup after the long anticipated opening and it did not disappoint. I ordered from the very nice staff and got a matcha latte with vanilla which turned out to be very delicious! I also picked up the Caesar chicken sandwich and was honestly surprised by how good it was... I'd come back just for that alone. This place is so awful, literally everything about it. To preface this, we came in during their first week after opening, which was a huge mistake. So incredibly busy, coffee tasted bad, just nothing worked. But we live down the street and wanted to try it once again so we came in here for a second time yesterday. Even worse. First, the little blonde girl behind the counter (didn't catch her name) was very sarcastic and unfriendly, so we're off to a good start. I was looking over the coffee menu and pastry case and thought about getting a pastry or something else to eat but after I noticed her poor attitude and tone I didn't even want to talk to her any more than I already had to (She was working the register between 4-5pm.) I think we all know why all the little kids of Gen Z are the way they are but it's still unfortunate. So while we're waiting for our coffees, a mother and her daughter come in and they have a super big white dog with them. And while I like dogs I think it's just common courtesy to not bring your dog up to the front counter where there's a display of to-go drinks and let your dog lick or brush up against all the merchandise. And then we finally get our iced coffee drinks and they're warm. Not even cold, even though there's ice in the cup. Still warm and the taste is, once again, just off. Their syrups must be terrible or their baristas just don't know how to pull shots correctly, maybe both. All I know is, never again. Don't waste your money, go to Philz down the street, where the baristas are actually properly trained and have approachable attitudes. I'd even take Starbucks over this place, which is saying something. read more

I've been to the original newbury park (dv) location, and while it's great, this spot feels like an elevated version. everything just hits a little harder: the consistency, the quality, the overall experience. I'm obsessed. I also just found out they have ceremonial matcha, which is now at the very top of my list to try.
