What a wonderful spot! The warm welcoming atmosphere is evident the moment I walked into the eatery. I saw tables with folks working on their laptops as well as folks reading and chatting with each other. This morning I enjoyed a cup of chai tea and although it was a bit sweet for my taste, the warming spices were tasty. Was a beautiful morning so sat outside in the fresh air. I love coming to Five07. The seating may be limited but I always enjoy sitting outside. The staff is friendly and the service has always been good. I enjoyed their avocado toast. Every time I come back here I fall more and more in love with this place. From the warmed breakfast pastries to the delicious mochas, I find very little to complain about. Despite always being busy they bring your order out to you within a reasonable amount of time. After I had my warmed ham and cheese croissant, which was one of the best most flavorful ham and cheese croissants I've ever had, I opted for a warmed almond croissant to finish off my large mocha. Everything was good to the last drop or crumb. My only complaint is that all the outside tables appeared to be dirty, they could use a wipe down after each party. The Five07 is true staple of Thousand Oaks. Every time my sister is in town she always asks to go, and I never complain! High quality drinks, delicious menu, and fun flavors that compliment the lovely atmosphere. There are students working on homework, families doing activities, and friends catching up, making for a lovely experience. I will say it is a tad pricey, but the consistent quality service and product always brings me back. I love trying local coffee shops, and I can't recommend enough! This place is great, they had a hip hop Christian playlist overhead when we were inside, lots of seating inside and outside, free wifi, outlets, the whole shebang. A lot of people around were working, catching up with friends, going on first dates, it was a fun place to get energy and people watch. But the drinks and food are miss or barely hit. The food looks great, the toasts are always gorgeous and delicious. The drinks were unfortunately, very disappointing. I got a large Kauai smoothie and it isn't bad, coconut water, pineapple, strawberry, and banana in a large (24oz) and it tastes like crunchy coconut water. But for $13 I feel like it could've been a lot better. A friend got the morning blend smoothie bowl ($16.50) and an iced London Fog (6) but also didn't like any of it in the end. Describing the London fog as the worst one in her entire life, and only ate the bananas on top of the smoothie bowl. I think personally it's on me that I didn't get one of their signatures, I am a BIG fan of almost every raspberry white mocha I had, but didn't end up getting them, will go next time! The pastries in the window looked so delicious too, but an almost $30 cafe visit is not in my budget as much as I hope it was. I love that they're so accommodating for different restrictions and life goals though, I have multiple friends who don't take seed oils, different milks, vegans, or gluten free and they have an option for literally everyone. I feel like this spot was really great to come to, we got a Kuaiu smoothie and an iced matcha latte, and you can choose between the 12 oz or the 16 oz for your drinks. The cashier was super nice and made sure to add a note to my girlfriend's but allergy and made sure to ask if certain ingredients in the drink she ordered were okay too. The cafe is always bustling with people and good energy, whether folks are studying or chatting with friends. The line was out the door and I almost turned around but when I saw that they were taking orders on tablets, I knew the line would move more quickly. I really appreciate the hustle to get all the orders in and respect everyone's time. I came in for a bag of coffe beans and it was $21. I like that my purchase comes with a free drink. I got the drip of the day and tried out a new brew that they sell beans for. Once I was awake, I noticed too late that my beans weren't the same as last time. I was hoping to get a light roast but this time it was a dark roast- not bad, just not what I had expected. I guess they are constantly selling out and getting a lot of varieties in so if you get hooked on a certain bean, you need to double check or go to their other location. I finally tried this coffee shop in TO and really liked it. There's plenty of tables to sit at both inside and outside. The pastries were clearly labeled. They had a mix of croissants, coffee cake, muffins and bagels. We both got almond croissants which they warmed for us. The croissant was slightly dry but overall good. This morning I had the opportunity to try The Five07 in Thousand Oaks, CA! I am 100% gluten-free, so I have to review the menu online before I can go to a coffee shop and ensure I will have something to eat and drink. I was happy to see that Five07 had their menu clearly displayed online, unfortunately a quality that most coffee shops don't implement (which is usually a HUGE point-knocker.) Five07's menu is extremely gluten-friendly, offering GF bread options, and listing the GF items clearly. These are the items that I tried: - Hot Minty Matcha (9/10): This was absolutely delicious!! Such a unique flavor that kept me entertained. It was perfectly sweet, perfectly creamy, and just the right balance of mint and matcha. - GF Passionfruit Donut (6/10): This was not quite my jam. I could see how someone who really enjoys the fruity/chocolate combo would love this, but it honestly left my tastebuds a little confused. The frosting was very intensely fruity, and the donut itself was pure chocolate. I would've liked it to be a little overall sweeter, but I did enjoy it and finish every bite. I would recommend this if you want something interesting and new! As for the environment, I was surprised to see it wasn't super busy on this Wednesday morning! Many tables open, which I know is unusual for this cafe. I was able to finish some work, and read a couple chapters of my book in peace. The environment was not extravagant, and didn't have any special quality to it, but it's manageable. Service was fantastic. When the growing ordering line began to overwhelm the cashier, another barista started taking orders down the line, leaving the cashier with the simple task of taking payment.
