Stopped by Coffee a La Mode next to Magma Pizzeria in Moorpark, and wow... I was completely blown away. I ordered an iced café latte mocha--half white chocolate, half mocha--and from the very first sip, the coffee just spoke. It was incredibly smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The blend of white chocolate and mocha wasn't overpowering at all--it was just right. What also surprised me was the size of the drink for the price--great value. On top of that, the service was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The inside of the shop was also a treat to see--clean, inviting, and just a really nice place to hang out and enjoy your drink. We usually go to places like Coffee Bean or Makena, but after this visit, I think we've found our new favorite spot. If you're in the area, this place is a must-try. Stopped by to get coffee on my way to Underwood Farms. Lots of parking in the plaza. The store is busy with so many things all around. Looked so messy, stuff everywhere. They sell cookies wrapped in cello wraps. Not appealing at all. Anyways the iced latte I got was ok. A bit watered down but ok to drink. Customer service was friendly and welcoming. I wanted to try a local coffee shop before heading to work and I ordered an iced latte through yelp, which I would not recommend doing. I had noticed my order had not been accepted by the restaurant so I wasn't expecting my drink to be ready. I tried ordering a large vanilla ice latte with low fat milk and light ice. When I got to the coffee shop I told the girl at the counter that I placed my order online through yelp and noticed my order was hadn't been confirmed and the girl looked at me confused saying they don't take orders through yelp but then walks away to the back and grabs my order that was made. I wasn't a fan of the coffee it was way too strong and the vanilla syrup that she added was not good. I noticed they don't have too many options on their iced coffee menu as they did years ago. I wanted to give a shout out to Lauren and Kayleen (sorry if I misspelled this) for being so incredibly kind and exuding good energy I ordered the iced chai tea latte with soy milk and honestly it's one of the best chai tea lattes I've had- better than Starbucks! Their chocolate croissant was delicious, not overly filled with chocolate where it was too sweet. Highly recommend this spot! You can sit outdoors or inside. This place is really cute. I really like the vibe that's happening. It feels like an art show which is fun. I love the mix of sofa chairs and regular chairs. It feels more like home and I tend to feel more relaxed. I went to do work with my co worker and it wasn't busy which I was glad about. The girls that were working were both very sweet. They greeted us as soon as we got to the counter and were patient waiting for us to order. They have a good selection of drinks, bakery items, and breakfast food. Not sure if they have any vegan or gluten free food options. I got a hot apple cider. My co worker got a vanilla latte. We both got breakfast sandwiches. I am not sure what they taught of theirs. It did look good. I got the egg and cheese croissant with bacon. It was a little burnt but it was still very delicious. Glad we found this place since it's in between both of us. A nice little place. I actually like it more with the private ownership than when it was an It's a Grind location. The seating is a whole mix of eclectic chairs and tables with a nice mix of sizes for different groups. There is also the outside seating shared with the rest of the plaza, but I prefer the inside. As for the drinks, I was very pleased when the baristas helped me find a drink that I could have but also wasn't too strange. I came here for the first time in a good 15 years since this place was "It's a Grind." We've been looking for a good place to get coffee in Moorpark. it can be scary trying a new place because it's hit or miss, but this place does not disappoint! The ambiance is old cafe vibes. Perfect place to study and relax with friends, or have coffee in the AM. What stood out first was the staff. They are so nice, friendly, and genuinely engaged! They seemed HAPPY to be at their work- imagine! The cashier, who's name I believe was Jacy, was helping us patiently while we had no idea what to order (their menu has many options)! I decided to customize a drink and ask questions, and they made it perfectly to what I wanted. I tend to be picky about good coffee, but wow. I took the first sip and was like, yesssss. The food also tasted REAL. Not like pre-frozen and preservative filled as it does from the big chain places. It kept me full for a good 6 hours! The ONE drawback I would have is that the place is more expensive than any cafe I've been to in a while. It was $38 for two coffees, two breakfast items, and a chocolate croissant. I messaged the business about the way I was treated in the store and they responded with a list of orders under someone else's card number claiming this was my past visit information and belittled me in a indirect way in very large text message. (My credit card info can be backed up) I would like to make sure no one else was brought to tears over a drink order. This is why I'm posting a review. I feel more humiliated now than before. I come here pretty often! It's cute, cozy, and I like to support small businesses. I usually get a small latte and a breakfast sandwich to go for $12-$14 depending on what I add to the sandwich. The employees are friendly and easy to chat with. They're super accommodating and help me out with drinks if I have an issue or question about the sweetness level (I limit my sugar intake). I removed one star because the seating is a little gross. PLEASE, whoever owns this, please clean or replace the armchairs. Picture a melted watered down Java Chip Frappuccino from Starbucks, that accidentally got some dirt in it, and that's what the iced mocha here tastes like. I think I've found the cutest coffee shop while spending some time in Moorpark; the ambience is adorable, the horchata latte is stupidly good, and it pairs really well with a nice warm peanut butter cookie. This coffee shop is hidden in the corner of a shopping strip, but I want to tell the WHOLE WORLD about it!!! The staff was incredibly nice, chatty but not annoying. Their pastry offerings all looked delicious, and they do have breakfast sandwiches available all day. I opted for banana walnut bread (which they warmed up for me) and the horchata latte. Let me tell you, that latte changed my life! LOL!!! Ok, maybe that's a little overboard, but if you like horchata (cinnamon) you NEED to try it. So so so good! Such a cute shop with amazing vegan and non vegan drinks and treats to choose from! Friendly atmosphere and pretty surroundings, this shop is my new favorite to visit when I'm in town.
