They also have La Marzocco and Mahlkoenig setup as well as their own beans and are half the price on almost anything. Plus their ambiance is much nicer. It was $70 for (2) avocado toast and (2) frittatas nothing else. It was delicious but frittata could have fit in the palm of my hand. Just a lot of money for just that. This was my first time ever trying Ragamuffin even though I live right by the one in The Collection in Oxnard. I happened to be driving through Camarillo and decided to go a bit further just to check out this location. All the staff was friendly and the feel of the place is very trendy and edgy. The music was a bit loud similar to some Starbucks locations. All the Baristas appear to be college-aged. There was an older gentlemen on the back kitchen area that looked like he was preparing food and to be honest I didn't get a great look at what he was making; I could just see from a distance he was behind a window. I had looked online and saw they had an espresso whole bean coffee I was interested in buying. And I love that they provide the roasted date on their beans. The reason why they only get a 3 star is my drink plain sucked. "Plain" is the best description for my drink. I had ordered a Chai Bliss Latte with almond milk instead of cream. It was awful. I honestly think the barista completely omitted the chai. There was not a hint of chai in my drink at all. All I tasted was the almond milk. It was extremely disappointing and I was even more upset that it was priced at $6 for hot milk. I hope the beans are good but so far this place did not impress. read more

Tried and true local spot. Staff is always friendly and the drinks come strong, flavorful and have always been made correctly. I especially like the breakfast burrito - super filling and they'll even cut in half and wrap separately to make it easy to share. The bagel and ham and cheese frittata are also great options. Parking can be a little tricky given this location is in a Trader Joe's parking lot, but I've never not been able to find something. To avoid wait, they have a great app to order ahead. read more

Ragamuffin is hands down one of the best coffee shops in the Conejo Valley. The staff here are truly wonderful -- they radiate positivity, greet you with genuine smiles, and make you feel like you're part of the community the second you walk in. The energy is always welcoming, the drinks are consistently delicious (seriously, everything I've tried is spot on), and the whole vibe of the shop makes it one of my favorite places to spend time. That said, the only reason I can't give a full 5 stars is because of a recurring issue with a customer who hangs around the Newbury Park location. He's a tall white man with white hair, usually wearing a hat and often carrying a notepad. Today he had that notepad and a coffee cup wrapped in a napkin, and while I tried to enjoy my drink outside, he stared me down the entire time -- to the point where it made me genuinely uncomfortable. I also overheard him make a derogatory, condescending comment about a woman walking by, which was incredibly off-putting. I've noticed this same man around closing time at Ragamuffin before, and I really think the owners should take a closer look at preventing creeps like this from loitering outside the business. It doesn't reflect on the staff -- who are amazing -- but it does affect how safe and comfortable customers feel when visiting. Spent an entire day working here. Breakfast was first. I had the seasonal Blueberry Basil cold brew. Those flavors were subtle, but the drink as a whole was fantastic. They top it off with a cold foam that really good as it melts and diffuses through the drink. I also had a Strawberry Almond danish that wasn't very good. It tasted like it might have been a couple of days old, but the coffee was good enough that I wasn't too upset about it. Around noon I had a breakfast burrito. They had stopped making them, but one of the people behind the bar said she was willing to make me one before she went on break. Excellent. I forgot to put any kind of meat in it, but everything else about it was great, including some kind of special sauce that really added to it. Later in the afternoon I went back for more coffee and had a Vanilla Cold Brew. Also really good for the same reason as the first one. Only complaint I'd have about this place are the prices ($8.50 for a cold brew seems a little steep), but this was Thousand Oaks, so waddyagonnado. Would definitely return here for more drinks and breakfast burritos. read more

Delicious local coffee spot! I have not been to Ragamuffin in a while, so it was nice to visit again. When immediately coming inside, one of the most noticeable things about this coffee shop is that it's wildly popular, meaning, there is EXTREMELY limited seating. Be wary of coming during times with heavy foot traffic because finding seating can be troublesome! We eventually were able to snag a spot. We ordered, and the menu has a LARGE selection of options, which I really appreciated! There is something for everyone to get here. I ordered The VCB - one of their special drinks, and a gluten free blueberry muffin. The staff was very patient with us and willing to explain things. After placing our order, it came out in a very timely fashion, less than 5 minutes! There is music but it is a bit quiet, and there is also a nice hum of the coffee being made and such. The VCB was AMAZING! I love getting special drinks and this did not disappoint. The muffin was also delicious too, especially being gluten free! Wow! Would definitely come back, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is great. However, be sure to snag a seat, because seating fills up quickly on heavy traffic times. read more

I am so sorry that I "slept" on this sweet little coffee shop in Newbury Park. I love this Raggamuffin location opposed to their bigger store in Oxnard, I just love a more cozy vibe and this spot definitely fit the bill. My friend had been encouraging me to try this spot with her so we stopped in for a late breakfast at about 10:40am on a Sunday. I was happy personally that it wasn't too busy. Seems like this is the right time to come if you want to avoid the crowds. I've driven by this spot on the weekends closer to 9am and it can be pretty busy, good to note depending on what kind of atmosphere you want. They had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so that was ideal. We opted for outside so we can get some fresh air and talk. The staff here are very friendly and efficient. The girl taking my order was nice and friendly. She was quick to take our orders and food/drinks were called out in under 10 minutes. I really like that they use a name based system for calling out your order! Please don't change this. I always find it awkward when coffee shops just call out the drink or food item because then you sometimes have more than one person rushing up to grab it. It doesn't help my anxiety lol. I loved that this place takes your name and writes it on the drink and food box, it just made for such an easy experience and ensuring everyone gets their correct order. The inside of the coffee shop is cozy and welcoming. I liked that they have different merch swag that you can buy like hats and shirts. Always nice to support and represent local businesses. Prices were reasonable and the menu here is great for drink and food options. While they have plenty of pastry goods I love that they had warm made to order dishes like burritos and toasts etc. Service, atmosphere, and ambience were an easy 5/5! The food and drinks are also 5 stars. To drink I had the iced vanilla matcha latte and it was one of the best matcha's I've had at a non-Asian inspired coffee shop. The matcha wasn't too sweet but had a really delicious flavor. Next time I'm ordering a bigger cup because it was just too yummy. The avocado toast was fantastic! I'm glad I only ordered a half portion because it was huge, very generous. In some ways it was a no frills toast but the flavor was on point. I also didn't fancy it up by adding an egg or anything which you can do here. I just loved the simplicity of the delicious avocado, pepper flakes, and olive oil. The bread was perfection, it held the ingredients nicely but wasn't too hard. Really the perfect avocado toast. I'll be adding this spot on my coffee shop rotation for sure. I truly enjoyed the drink and food I had here! And taking a second to just appreciate the coffee art :) The sandwich was a new item on the menu, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well balanced with a lot of flavor and it is very filling. The drinks were also simple and well-made. No complaints. Everyone that worked there was super helpful and very customer focused, which is a nice change from the busy-ness of other coffee shops. There is a a decent amount of seating inside and even more outside, which is perfect! A couple of reasons I would give them a 4.5/5 are the prices (of the food) and the temperature of the drinks. I am very torn about Ragamuffin. I visit them maybe once a week or less for their matcha when I don't have time to make my own. You can either get their culinary grade or upgrade to ceremonial for $1. It is an extra $1 for a special syrup (like lavender) and another extra $1 for oatmilk. And $1 (or more sometimes!) for a cream top. And therein lies the problem. Often a 12oz drink becomes $9-$12 and that is significantly more than I spend on a 12-16oz matcha literally anywhere else. I've tried all the spots from La La Land, Caje, Stagger, Series A, Danbi, Dash Coffee Bar, Morning Mood, Lynx... and all of their drinks are 1. Better than Ragamuffin, 2. Cheaper, and 3. Sometimes larger! Don't get me wrong, Ragamuffin's matcha is not bad and I will continue to go, but the price is simply ridiculous and it is certainly not a standout from other places in Ventura County or LA. I will say the Oxnard location is often much better than the Newbury Park in terms of customer service and consistency of the drinks. And their rewards program kinda sucks. Man. Maybe there is a lot wrong with this shop? But much room for improvement! read more

We had to wait like 15 minutes for just one simple iced latte -- I was able to go to TJoes to the bathroom (they also have no bathroom) AND make a transaction and be back before they had the drink ready. Ambiance is nice and bustling on a Saturday morning with lots of people eating breakfast and socializing. The service people are nice though. I am 100% gluten-free and always look for cafes who post their menu online so I can look it over and make sure that I will have something to eat. I am not able to find a menu online, which was a huge turn away, but my mom visited the cafe and was able to let me know if there were any gluten-free pastries, which there were. I have tried them both now: - GF Ricotta Cake (9/10): Quite possibly one of the best GF pastries I have ever tried. The perfect flavor, texture and quality. I highly recommend this item even if you aren't GF! - GF Blueberry Muffin (7/10): I have a theory that all the GF blueberry muffins at the cafes in the area are from the same bakery, and are exactly the same. But this was was still yummy! The environment was great! A little loud, but it seemed very friendly. Service was fast, and easy as well. Nothing too special to comment on there. I have also tried a couple different lattes as well. - Hot Chai Latte (9/10): I definitely enjoyed this latte. The creaminess and flavor was delicious. Only come to Ragamuffin (like get over yourself with the cutest coffee shop name ever) if you want to be caught off guard by the stellar service and off the charts charisma EACH and EVERY staff brings to the table...and on top of THAT...the smiles and laughter are consistent and authentic every interaction! It's sickening to see a value-driven business walking the walk nowadays like Rag's sphere promoting and fostering "things" like "community" and "connection", "joy" and "unity". I am not even going to start in on the fresh baked goods. I wouldnt dare think to order that ridiculously decadent and moist olive cake to befriend my Chai Bliss latte...it's hedonistic activity if you ask me! We came into Raggamuffin because we were at Trader Joe's and needed a pick me up. There's ample parking because of the little strip. The inside is pretty spacious and a couple people were working (we went 30 min before close). Staff was nice and efficient. The drink was fantastic! I got a 16 oz. iced mocha latte and it was one of the best I've had. It was just sweet enough and rich because of the whole milk. The best chocolate coffee concoction I've had in awhile.
