I was introduced to cafe sapientia by a coworker. It's a pretty popular place. We were there from 10a-11:30a on a Friday and there was a constant stream of customers. We both ordered a soy cappuccino and it was delicious. I am guessing it was a light roast because I didn't have to add any sugar! Really cute place. Lots of comfortable places to sit inside and outside. Clean bathroom for customers. Only thing worth mentioning is it got a little warm and stuffy inside while we were there, but I survived. :) I will definitely go back again. Parking lot seemed very worn out/buildings in the area looked closed down so we were a little worried maybe this place was shut too, but thankfully it wasn't! It's just a lil hidden in the corner. I'm glad bc it's def gonna become one of my go-to's now. Ive been here twice and it def gets busy around lunch time, not many seats were available when we went here around 12pm. But I'm glad business seems to be doing well bc it's a cute place. Cozy little spot with great food and bingsu! They absolutely nail the fluffy snow-like texture of Korean shaved ice. Portions are pretty big so I'd say stick to either getting food or shaved ice bc I have a pretty big appetite but couldn't finish either! And it's a lil hard to store bingsu in the freezer since it's prone to becoming completely frozen if you leave it in there too long. It won't have the fluffy melt in your mouth texture anymore. So eat as soon as your can even if you take it to-go (they pack them in drink cups with lids if you order to-go). I've had the matcha, Oreo, mango, and original flavors. They're all good but I'd rank original last bc I was expecting a lore more injeolmi powder like ive seen in pics + the flavors were too subtle for me (I did order with oat milk however so that can be where I went wrong). I'd say Oreo was my fave of all that ive tried. Only the ones with a white base are available with dairy-free options btw, so matcha and Oreo can't be made dairy-free. They appear to have seasonal flavors as well. The panini was very good. My partner called it prob the best smelling sandwich he's had LOL. With all the five star reviews, had to stop in myself to check it out. My husband and I came in on an Sunday afternoon - the place was fairly busy with folks dining or working at tables inside. The baristas were quick to greet us and happily explained details on any menu items we were curious about. We ordered two cold brews and they were fresh and smooth. Solid cafe in the Oak Park area! I've been to Cafe Sapientia for a Yelp event (their bingsu is quite good), but I surprisingly haven't been back since. I have since realized why - Yelp has this place labeled as "Not a A Good Place for Working", which I personally disagree with. There's actually a decent amount of seating and outlets. Anyways, for my second visit, I ordered an Iced London Fog and a Tuna Sandwich. The tea was okay, pretty average quality for the London Fog. The Tuna Sandwich was actually really good and is something that I would order again. This place absolutely lives up to the good things people have to say about it. We went at about midday on a weekday, and it wasn't too crowded, and everything came out relatively quickly. We got the avocado toast with lox which was excellent, as well as the chive cream cheese taiyaki which was also quite good. Drinks didn't blow us away, but they were both quite solid (matcha latte and hazelnut latte). Not the cheapest, but that's to be expected for the area. The Taiyaki was wonderful as well. Stuffed with cream cheese and chives and full of flavor. It was pretty busy so service was a little slow but well worth the wait. My boss' boss invited me out to coffee here. I think it's one of her go-to spots around Thousand Oaks. We met up here on a Wednesday afternoon around 3 pm. There was ample parking since it's in a plaza. The inside wasn't crowded or busy but a large family came in later on. The high ceilings made it a bit loud and echo-y (if you're planning on doing some work here) but it wasn't too bad. The inside is cute, kind of like a rustic modern barn style. I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I decided to get an iced chai latte. I also ordered the ham and cheese taiyaki. I wanted to try the Korean shaved ice but I wasn't craving anything too sweet (the chai latte was enough for me) but would definitely come back to try it sometime. My boss got a latte and avocado toast, both looked yummy. The taiyaki was hot and slightly flaky. The ham and cheese were delicious. A great savory snack! The iced chai latte was yummy and refreshing, you can't really go wrong with it. Everything was very reasonably priced. This is my favorite coffee shop in the area, objectively top-2 shops in the conejo valley. They do everything right and don't pretend to be anything they're not. The inside is simple -- nothing distracting and relatively quiet, with ample seating and room to bring your work/school equipment if that's your thing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their coffee, and there's a variety of origins to choose from if you're a nerd. Special shout to this joint for carrying iced coffee *and* cold brew. Not a ton of places have true iced coffee anymore, and I'm a fan of theirs. I can't say I've eaten a ton of food here, but I've had their cinnamon roll a few times, and it's quite nice (obviously, if I've gotten it more than once). If you care about your coffee and want to buy from a business who cares about their coffee, this is your spot. read more

The shaved ice is so thin it melts right away, I enjoyed not getting brain freeze for a change. So refreshing I wanna go back and try the rest of their flavors! Came back again for some tasty shaved ice (Bingsoo), and it didn't disappoint! The ice is shaved so fine, it's like snow. It is not the same as those you would get in the paper cones with syrup added. It's very fluffy and light. Simply delicious! I tried the Original Snow Creme which wasn't overly sweet, but just right. If you like red bean, this one is for you. It also has small bits of Mochi to add a little more sweetness. We also had the Mango and Strawberry Snow Creme which were delicious. I have tried all the other snow cremes and you can't go wrong with any of them. Staff is always friendly, place is always clean and very roomy inside with lots of tables. Stopped by to grab a coffee and this place did not disappoint! I typically drink sugary coffee and I really enjoyed the Sapienna (I got mine iced). It has a little bit of sweetness to it, not too much, and the cheese cream that topped the drink added a nice salty touch. You can even combine different flavors of syrup in your drink, which is a great way to customize your drink. Our barista, Anthony, was super friendly, explained the menu well, and gave great recommendations. In addition, there are several small tables in indoors for you to enjoy your coffee or food and one large table that could be great for a larger group. The ambiance is very chill inside! A very nice cafe that's not run of the mill. Most notable are Asian snacks like taiyaki (red bean, ham and cheese, cream cheese are available) and bingsu (aka snow creme). This is basically like a very fine shaved ice milk. It's not straight ice- it's milky shaved ice. That's my best description! We tried a an original bingsu, which had mochi and red bean. It was fun to try these dishes. They also have avocado toast and sandwiches. The coffees and teas look great as well. They have many interesting syrup flavors. Their hours are a little weird in that they don't open till 9am. Personally, I like coffee first thing in the morning, so I'll probably never get coffee here because of their opening time. First time here and it exceeded my expectations. My husband thought we were coming to get shaved ice but he was shocked when it was shaved milk flakes - similar to an Italian icee he described it. Each bite was delicate and flavorful with it melting on your palate. The red bean and mochi were hidden treasures buried in the milky mix. Not too sweet and enough to share for two people.
