This place seems like it's hidden lol. But they have good ice cream! It's the one with the nitrogen thing which makes the ice cream taste so smooth. When we got ours it was so sugary though but still very good! They gave you one topping for the mix for free, we chose cheesecake for our salted caramel. It was a GOOD combination, even though it was very sugary lol. But will come again for sure! The server with pink hair was really nice too! The inside was clean, and they have different chairs like a booth type and regular type of tables/chairs. read more

Came here a couple weeks ago with a friend, and while it wasn't my first time trying nitrogen ice cream, it was his. We both had a great experience, and the ice cream was delicious! My only complaint is that there was just one employee working while several of us were waiting in line. Her service was still great, and the ice cream was too--I just felt bad that she had to handle everything on her own. I'd definitely come back, though. It's a shame there's only one location that I know of because this place feels a little hidden away. read more

Came here to try the New "Halo Halo" dessert and I was very happy! It was SOO GOOD! And with how the weather has been lately, it was really refreshing! It was my first time here so I wasn't sure if they could replicate the Halo Halo flavor I'm so used to and they definitely did! And with the way they use the Nitrogen to freeze the Ice Cream while they make it, the dessert came out colder than usual! Other than the Halo Halo they have other Ice Cream flavors as well as Coffee options and Waffle treats! So happy coming here! Yay! This place was awesome!!! The kids loved watching them make the ice cream. Best part, if you don't see what you're craving as long as you can describe it, they can make it. The employees are really helpful and can suggest different fun options. My kids favorite part were the Dragon Breath cereal balls, they made videos and joked around. Kids had a blast with it. Highly recommend if your kids are bored and want a treat, worth the 20 min drive for us. We will definitely be back with friends, it's too good not to share. read more

Woohoo! Simi Valley has a Sub Zero Creamery now in town. I have had tried a handful of times at various events and was always impressed. Not only for the taste but also the presentation. This is a place my daughter loves, and approximately two years ago, it just disappeared. We thought it was gone forever from their first location, which was very close to our home. When my daughter would visit us, she would occasionally get her "fix" of liquid nitrogen ice cream. (Sounds awful, but trust me, it is not.) In any event, little did we know that Sub Zero moved. They did not close forever like we thought. They didn't move to their new location right away, so it was easy to think they were gone forever. Now they have a new home on Cochran Street, which is still relatively close to us. To be honest, my daughter loves this place so much, she'd drive anywhere to get it. She gets some chocolate/peanut butter/Oreo combination, and it is divine. That said, I've been trying not to get it because I don't need to add any sweet temptations to my list. I already have enough places that I struggle with, L O L, but this place really is good for a nice, cold, ice cream treat... and it's really fun to watch them make it too. read more

They have almost anything your taste buds may be craving and do it with your choice of several bases. I was out in simi with the family and found this little gem on Yelp. From the pictures and reviews, it seemed like a cool place to take my little one. I'm glad we decided to stop by because my son was in aw, when the lady at the counter would make the ice cream with the hydrogen (I believe it was hydrogen). The staff was super helpful and friendly. They create ice cream from scratch by adding the cream base and other ingredients to a bowl and then adding liquid nitrogen. It's fun to watch and the kids love it. My issue is they flavor the ice credit artificial syrup and that's exactly how it tastes. I'd rather get premade frozen ice cream that uses fresh ingredients. But my 9 y/o loved it so we may be going back. Went back a second time and ordered a non-fruit flavor and it didn't taste so artificial. The staff was amazing again. read more

We explicitly called ahead of our arrival to ask if they had any keto-friendly options. The man who answered the phone gave an emphatic "yes." I asked to clarify if they had it in stock on this specific day. The answer was also yes. So when we drive all the way there, bringing the entire family, we were told by the very nice lady behind the counter that they in fact, did NOT have any keto friendly options. She apologized, and said that they haven't had any keto options for a long time, and that this is a common miscommunication (especially since they advertise keto options on their website). It is ridiculous, and it is embarrassing that this is a regular occurrence. I don't know what the motive was to lie to me over the phone, but I will definitely not be coming back. Update:: The situation was rectified. They do in fact have keto mix, but a miscommunication prevented the employees from knowing about it, which is a management error. read more

I had been to SubZero many times in the old location near the Target. So when I found out they had a store on Cochran I was all for going as it was always delicious. Tonight I went and waited 15 minutes while the single employee that was doing everything, was able to make my order. They were making the order before mine and ringing up that customer until a large group walked in and they called for someone in the back to come help. I got a regular size custard with 3 dry toppings, paid $10.94 for it including tip. It tasted like freezer burn. I'm not sure how that is possible since the custard is in liquid form at the start, unless somehow they have the freeze temperature set too low that it flash 'burns' the ingredients. I had my husband taste it and he agreed. What a disappointment. I can't recommend this place to anyone. Don't bother. read more

We went here on 4th of July so it wasn't particularly busy that day, not sure if it normally is. The ice cream does take a minute to prep per person so there's a little bit of a wait but it's not bad. Definitely a different way to have your ice cream! They also had Dragon's Breath which was more of a fun treat to try out once or twice, kind of tasted like captain crunch berries a little bit. Very clean and open indoor seating. read more

I had lost a sentimental necklace the day I visited (don't know where exactly) and he went the extra mile to check (moving booths and looking everywhere for this necklace). I gave this place a shot again today and there was a small kid in front of me that kept dipping her fingers into her cup and then sucking her fingers off, about four times total. It grossed me the heck out, but I avoided the handles she touched and was at that point SO thankful that she was not touching the whole toppings bar, handles and possible toppings. Her little brother started coughing while at the toppings bar telling the employee his preferences, and again I was SO thankful that the toppings were enclosed by plexiglass and not in the open for his germs to fly on as he did. Bottom line, I realized that this setup (though seemingly 'less fun') is WAY more hygienic and actually made me feel a little queasy thinking about all the other times I went to open bar froyo places and touched/ate all the little kid grimy licked finger handles and coughs. This actually will become my new place of preference for this reason! The staff was also very pleasant this time and they listened very well to my picky preferences...I've changed my review from 2 to 5 stars for how clean and hygienic this place always is!

This is the second time one of your employees has acted completely inappropriately. Between the customer service and the lack of cleanliness, your employees are going to ruin your business. It was crispy enough and if you do like it on the softer side, just a little bit in the microwave and it'll come out just right. It tasted like it just came out from the oven. I didn't get coffee because it was too late in the day but I happen to be around the next day and stopped by to get a latte! Although they dont have their flavored lattes on the menu they do have different ones you just gotta ask. I got the iced hazelnut latte which was so good, not a lot of ice, and only $4.50 for a 16oz! I just had to share my experience at this place I visited with my sister! Honestly, I was really impressed. My sister suggested it, and I wasn't sure if it would be our vibe, but the staff were incredibly friendly and patient. A big shoutout to Vanna for being amazing! She not only helped me choose something but also took the time to share some really interesting facts with me and my sister. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting that I can't wait to go back. He'll usually select one savory item and one sweet treat. Often, their Japanese-style egg salad tucked inside a pastry is so perfect for me. The actual dough is like a marriage between a bagel and a croissant. It's lighter than a bagel, but it's flavorful and tender like a croissant, but not flaky. The egg salad filling is just right for my tastebuds, and it provides protein in a fancy, delicious fashion. Today there was a hint of savory garlic on the pastry, and that added a nice flavor accent. Today's sweet pastry was an open-faced tart filled with a smooth, light chocolate base, topped with creamy custard, and then sliced pears on top. Mmm. I like the choice of pears offering a hint of the autumn season ahead. The last time we had out of town guests staying with us, we took my them to Le Herisson one morning. They fell in love with the food and the sweet, simple ambiance. The next morning, my sister-in-law got up early and went back over, bringing back a box of pastries for everyone to share. That definitely tells the story of how much everyone enjoyed the food offerings. It's a special treat to have a quality bakery like this in Simi. We prefer it to another well-regarded bakery on the west end of town, which is a different style and more expensive.
