I also ordered a bagel with cream cheese, which they offered to toast for me. The food came out pretty quickly and the person taking my order was pretty patient with me taking my time to look at their menu. The ambiance was nice too - it seems like a cozy enough place for people to hang out and I even saw someone working on their laptop for awhile. I will say the foods looked good but seemed a little pricey for the service size, so I avoided ordering anything else this time. Might check them out in the future.

Pretty much every time which is what pushed me to actually write a review. The food/coffee is way overpriced for what you get as well. When I went recently, they added the up charge to add cold foam and didn't even ask if I wanted it when I went in person. BUT, upon checking the online ordering on their website, it is so much more clear that that was an optional add-on. Kind of felt like they were just upcharging me to upcharge idk... Ambiance was good. Quiet, clean and the plants all around are a great touch. Don't get me wrong, the coffee and food are great, especially the speciality drink. Just be ready to pay over $10 for a drink on the summer specials. Not worth it at all.

The bingsu was absolutely delicious--light, fluffy, and full of fresh, flavorful toppings. It tasted incredibly authentic, and the portion was huge--definitely enough to share, though you may not want to because it's that good! We also tried a couple of their boba drinks, and they were just as impressive. The tea was flavorful, the sweetness was well balanced, and the boba had the perfect chewy texture. Used to be able to get them at FunBurger, but that ceased to be an option when they changed some of their menu items. It as good to learn that Sub Zero could help me out with that wish, and also Little Calf Creamery in T.O. and Westlake Village also can oblige. The good news about Sub Zero is that you also get to enjoy the magical experience of watching the creation appear before your eyes, with the added high drama of the liquid nitrogen "show". I was able to customize to get a plant-based milk base, with the addition of mint flavoring and chocolate chips. It was delicious - creamy and flavorful. Perfect to sit outside with on their patio space in the late afternoon sun. Their building overlooks the hills to the south, which offer a pastoral view. It would be even lovelier if large power lines didn't run along Cochran at this point, but what can you do? The staff member behind the counter was very friendly, and super helpful when I told her that it was my first time to visit. Dear Hubby had been there once before. I believe he tried their Halo Halo, which is one of his favorite desert treats, and not easy to find in Simi. He'll usually select one savory item and one sweet treat. Often, their Japanese-style egg salad tucked inside a pastry is so perfect for me. The actual dough is like a marriage between a bagel and a croissant. It's lighter than a bagel, but it's flavorful and tender like a croissant, but not flaky. The egg salad filling is just right for my tastebuds, and it provides protein in a fancy, delicious fashion. Today there was a hint of savory garlic on the pastry, and that added a nice flavor accent. Today's sweet pastry was an open-faced tart filled with a smooth, light chocolate base, topped with creamy custard, and then sliced pears on top. Mmm. I like the choice of pears offering a hint of the autumn season ahead. The last time we had out of town guests staying with us, we took my them to Le Herisson one morning. They fell in love with the food and the sweet, simple ambiance. The next morning, my sister-in-law got up early and went back over, bringing back a box of pastries for everyone to share. That definitely tells the story of how much everyone enjoyed the food offerings. It's a special treat to have a quality bakery like this in Simi. We prefer it to another well-regarded bakery on the west end of town, which is a different style and more expensive.

I've been to Italy multiple times and grew up around Italian baking, and this is hands down the best frittelle I've ever tasted. This is a real Italian bakery, and once you step inside, the space completely opens up--high ceilings, a beautiful interior, and a hidden, speakeasy feel you'd never expect from the street. My wife and I both dug into a lemon cheesecake topped with a tasty lemon bar and were full before we could finish it. I'm a lemon bar fan so I stole the most of the lemon bar. Even without the bar on top, the lemon glaze gives it a nice lemon flavor while the cheesecake itself is light yet rich in flavor. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.
