My introduction to this place was a very sugary glazed chocolate round donut with sprinkles that reminded me of a bigger thicker Kristy Kreme. The entire round donut was glazed, even the chocolate seemed super sweet. So much so that glaze fell off and stuck to my fingers as I ate it. Overall the donuts are decent, very sugary, and could probably use some regular coffee to cut the sweetness. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating. read more

The first time I came to this donut shop I had a weird experience. But I later visited a second time and talked to the staff member about how I felt the last time I had come. He seemed to find it funny and told me that he was just tired because he has to be there at 4:00 in the morning to start making donuts and he's there all day. I disregarded it and came here two more times after with my friend. The last time I reviewed I gave three stars, I have to say that the Tiger Tail here is delicious and one of my favorites. Probably the only reason I come here occasionally. Don't mind that the staff is tired, I probably would be too if I had to be up that early. Either way try the Tiger Tail. read more

Let's face it, donuts are a guilty pleasure. Pleasurable to eat, per say, guilt follows. They are so unhealthy, but oh so good. With a donut place rated 5.0 stars, well, it's what dreams are made of. Coffee & Donuts is a 1/2 block south of New LA Ave, located next to a busy 7-11, a lawnmower shop, and a Dollar Store. Parking not an issue on a Saturday morning, I went on in. 1 or 2 tables, and a bit of a letdown. Not a 5.0 star experience looks-wise, but two double cases of donuts, croissants, and muffins had be salivating. Heaven is what I call it. A Raspberry-filled, and a Boston Cream, and 2 donut holes thru me over the fricken edge. Perhaps a little too sugary, but these donuts were made right: fresh oil and light dough. I walked in as I was passing by the area, I really like supporting small local businesses like this one, to my surprise this place was a delight. The shop is clean and it's ran by hard working owners, I got a chocolate donut with peanuts and a breakfast croissant sandwich, with BACON! I really appreciate good crispy bacon, I can tell it was fresh. Their selection is phenomenal: fresh donuts, coffee, breakfast sandwiches, cold drinks, blended drinks, and BOBA! On a whim, I came in here for lunch, thinking "what could I possibly get at a donut shop for lunch?" I saw their sandwich menu and decided to try a turkey sandwich... guys..... mine blown. This is BY FAR one of the best turkey sandwiches I have ever had, I'm not being sarcastic and this is not a drill! It's so good! And you can't beat that price. On what I believe is homemade croissants... it had juicy tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, mustard, onion, cheese and lettuce. So simple yet so delicious. I'll come back for the donuts for sure! read more

Apple fritters were over cooked, burnt. I enjoy a good apple fritter. Did I eat it anyway, yeah, I still liked that sugary fried dough, but it had a subtle burnt taste. All the apple fritters looked almost black and I thought to myself "they look like they got fried in oil that was too hot, or cooked for too long. It's times like this that I realize how good the other donut artist are. Consistency is so important and yet often unnoticeable, like the drummer or bass player in a great band. They go unnoticed until they are missing. Will I go back, yeah because this was my first donut experience in my new home town. And after all, you're not out until you get 3 strikes. Great donuts, couldn't believe the price of a dozen donuts and three egg, ham, and cheese croissants though. But it's what you pay for quality pastries, otherwise you can always go to some crap mega chain. I'll still frequent these proprietors because their donuts are fantastic. I'll just be more mindful of the upcharges, and what I'm adding on. It's definitely possible I went over board which led to the price increase.
