Heard about this place I was intrigued I love Donuts. I think I'm a doughnut connoisseur !! When was the little dry but I still recommend them. You know when you go on an half an hour sometimes they can be older, but I had a fresher one and they do have a big variety of donuts so I give them a thumbs up. Thanks to a Yelp event I had the opportunity to explore a shop that I may not of known about tucked in a shopping center in Ventura. Through this experience I got to experience Rolling Pin Doughnuts- and join in their celebration of being open for one year at this location. This is their second location: the first is in Camarillo, where I hear they sell out quickly! At the shop in Ventura they baked twice daily! The quality and the freshness shows! I was totally impressed with my blueberry doughnut- it was so fresh! The perfect balance of sweetness! Plus my ola coffee was amazing: I would come back just for the coffee! I'm in luck as they sell the coffee by a pound! There are plenty of places to relax at a table inside or you can take you food to go! Inside is super clean! After dinner out we were looking for a place to get dessert on the way home. Passed Rolling Pin Donuts and decided to give it a try. It doesn't look like much from the curb. But looks are deceiving. 8 PM on a Wednesday and no line. Huge selection available. We decided to try the jumbo donut with chocolate and sprinkles ($5.50) (see the photo). Good choice. We came after midnight and there were young people hanging out in the outdoor dining area. Overall, this is good place if you craving a late night snack. Can't go wrong with a late-night snack at this beloved Camarillo landmark! The parking area is small but I've always managed to find a spot. Sometimes there's a bit of a line, especially at night, but the wait time is reasonably quick. Make sure to bring cash if possible as there is a small fee when paying with card. This was my first time trying the ham & cheese croissant and it was huuuuuuuge! The croissant was so buttery and flaky with just the right amount of ham and cheese inside. All their doughnuts are delicious, so whenever I go (unless I'm craving something specific), I ask for whatever's fresh to ensure the best possible bites :P During my most recent visit, they had just finished a batch of chocolate chip rolls (MY FAV) so I knew I had to get one. They are enormous and the chocolate is so rich and luscious and not toooo terribly sweet. An easy five stars from me! read more

No words. Just the best chocolate stuffed donut I've ever had. They prepared the chocolate donuts I ordered fresh and the inside of the chocolate melted in my mouth with every bite. I wish I could bring a dozen of these donuts with me to Chicago. Service is always great. This place is a Camarillo favorite so there's always a short line when I go, but it never disappoints. Stumbling into this store during a fierce morning rain storm of April Showers, I finally made it to this store which everyone has hyped about. After moving here for 2 years now, all I hear around the water cooler is that this store is famous in Camarillo. It's where the young people gather at night with lines wrapped around the store. It sounds like M&Ms donuts or SeaSide bakery in Orange County. As with everything, I was skeptical whenever something is the trend. Now I've eaten from a lot of Mom and Pop's family owned donut stores. They can rival any chain donut store, I've noticed. They're also cheaper as well. Krispy Kreme is good but as I got older, I noticed that it is overly sweet in my view. I arrived here at 8:30 AM on a sunday. There was no lines when I went. I guess it's not really hopping until when the sun sets. I saw the offering outside the glass window. It would look like the Pacific North West style of donuts where everything is outdoor and there's not really an indoor space for customers to eat. I decided to get a glazed and blue sprinkled donut. It was about $2.25 per donut. After I bit into the donut, I realized that it was half as sweet as a regular Krispy Kreme donut. It's good for those who are sensitive to sugar. However, as I continued chewing on the donut, I realized that it was not better than any family owned donut stores. It was substandard at best. Just as I suspected, it was more trendy and hype than quality. I would not go out of my way to get this again, even if it was a minute wait, let alone hours at night waiting for it. read more

I probably choose this donut place over others. There's a good amount of selection, the donuts were fresh/hot, they have specialty donuts including the Homer Simpson jumbo donut. Unfortunately, someone took the iconic jumbo pink donut and had to settle for another jumbo donut but hey, rice is rice. This place is really lit at night where you don't feel like you're in a creepy area. You can smell the fresh donuts as soon as you step out of your car. I thought this was a solid donut place. It's definitely a step up from the typical donut shops you'll find all over the place. I had the Tiger Tail, which was pretty large, and it was nice and good tasting. It went for $3.50.
