Ok my first time trying Makenna Koffee and it was very good!! I tried the Cabo San Lucas iced with almond milk and half sweet. It was very tasty and the foam they put on top was very tasty!! Mmmmmmm... I also tried the chocolate muffin which was so 5/5!! So fresh and when you warm it up, it's even better. The service was good and since it was my first time, the lady who worked there was very informative on what to try. I also learned that they use Maui milk, which is a secret ingredient milk that they use for their milk. It's very nice inside giving beach vibes and very energetic!! It's very clean and spacious. So on the way back from Carpinteria needed a pick me up for the drive back to LA. As always Yelp for the win! Makenna Koffee was great. I ordered the Cabo San Lucas. It had the perfect mix of coffee. It wasn't to overbearing. Perfect coffee and sweetness. My nephew ordered the Chocolate Chipping chip freeze that was yummy as well. It was freshening and not overbearing on the chocolate. While eating at Latitude restaurant this coffee place was next door. I wanted a dessert so I went there after eating, and decided to try it out. I had the special recipe vanilla latte with a chocolate muffin. The latte was so creamy and tasty, with a smoothness, and the muffin was soft and very flavorful. This place is the Cheesecake Factory of Coffee Shops. Not too long ago I tried the Ventura location and was happy with the experience although I didn't care for my drink. So when I saw they opened a location near my home I wanted to try a different drink. Upon arrival it was very busy but surprisingly clean. No empty coffee cups just sitting around or trash on the floor. You can even watch them make the coffees and that area looked nearly spotless. The counter person was very nice and attentive even greeting us with a smile. This time I ordered the Haylee and was very happy with the taste. My only issue was the wait time for the coffee. I love this place so much but every time I come here it's my 5/6th time at Camarillo location they always get my order wrong Today I bought a chocolate croissant and by the time they made my order they told me they sold out when they we're making other people's orders and when it came time to give me my croissant, of course they had ran out so I just got a refund. I love to see Valley location. My order is always correct. They're always on point. I have had this on my Yelp bookmark list of "must-try" for a while. Camarillo is a good 20 minute drive from me so it's not exactly a convenient location from me. But I had to go to Camarillo this morning for an errand and took advantage of this trip to stop by. Let me start with the pros: the vibe is welcoming, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Yes, this is definitely a young-coffee spot. I did see a few older people sitting down inside but I also saw a lot of 20-30 something picking up their mobile orders. The decor is very modern with a strong travel or vacation vibe. The pastry display looked amazing. The coffee cakes are about 4 inches in diameter and I love they offer some gluten-free options. You don't see that at most coffee shops. The drink menu is pretty extensive and if you look at the barista counters you see the shelves filled with lots of Toriani flavored syrups. Their Christmas menu is one of the most extensive ones I have seen. Now the con and the main reason I had to give it a 3 star. I ordered a hot caramel chai with a shot of espresso. "Hot" and my coffee cannot be associated. My coffee was lukewarm. I was so sad when I took my first sip and realized it couldn't have been more than 100°F. I didn't want to be "that" customer and go back in and complain that it was not hot. I don't know if the barista just didn't realize that she didn't steam the milk long enough or if they use a chai concentrate that is refrigerated and that was not warmed enough or what. But it's really upsetting to pay $7.25 for a lukewarm coffee plus I had tipped $1 which I now deeply regret as the barista that made my drink did not deserve a tip for this. I had to wait until I got home and nuke it in the microwave to make it drinkable. Update: I had paid through Square and received the text about my order. I was able to rate how the service as on it and insert a comment. The owner messaged me back and apologized and refunded me. I think they take their customer complaints seriously and that shows me that they care. So I have changed from a 3 to a 5 stars. read more

My husband and I were doing a quick drive through of the outlets and he def needed coffee. He said Makenna came up a few times when he was researching earlier this morning. It's super clean, organized, and cute. Walking in, it gave a combo of California and Hawaii vibes - that fun, chill, laid back feeling. The guy who took our order was attentive and answered questions we had and also asked questions to make sure we got what we wanted. When my husband asked about the Maui milk (their special blend of sweetened dairy milk) he noted that it's dairy based since we were ordering oat milk with our coffees. My husband said YOLO and went for it. He's alive and well if you were concerned lol We both ordered their holiday specials: cookie butter and the peppermint snowball (I'm on a white chocolate peppermint kick). Their lattes are delicious! The only thing is that I wished it had a little more coffee (it's super light with the coffee flavor). They have an extensive menu so take your time because they have several screens of options. Also, there was a girl working who was calling out orders and she noticed my husband standing there (not for very long) and sweetly checked in with him about our order and she gave us a status update. Good for a date or coffee meet up. The only reason I have less than 5 stars is because I was a little disappointed with the service. All are young staff which is not bad. In fact, good for them for working and learning. It seems the cashier was just starting there. When I got my order I specifically asked sandwich and the croissant? I did because my name was totally wrong so wanted to sure and one of the packages didn't look like it was a croissant. He pointed to both and named it as my ordered items. When I took it back they were two breakfast sandwiches. When I went back to tell them, they insisted it was my order. Makenna Koffee Company is taking over the 805 and we are so lucky to have one of their newest, big, beautiful shops right here in Camarillo. Located at the Camarillo Outlets, it's the perfect stop for some pre-shopping fuel. If you haven't tried Makenna yet...it's paradise in a cup. Their menu is HUGE and they have unique flavors that help separate them from other coffee shops. I've visited a few locations and honestly haven't found a drink I didn't love. Plus, they've got hot food and pastries, so it's a whole vibe inside. My forever fave - the Surfer Girl : A strawberry lemonade that's creamy, fruity, refreshing, and absolutely perfect if you want something non-coffee. I also love their Red Bull energy drinks. I tried the seasonal caramel green apple and it tasted like fall in a cup. Loved the caramel drizzle, and it definitely woke me up. Lol. Honestly, the drink options here are endless and you'll find something for even your pickiest of coffee drinkers. And HUGE shoutout to the amazing team at this location. We were in Camarillo visiting for the holidays and heard this new coffee joint was a must try. To be transparent, I'm a bit of a bougie coffee girl. I have a Nespresso at home and make myself all sorts of fun things regularly. And we have an abundance of cute and delicious coffee shops in Idaho. With that said... I have been to Makenna Koffee every day since I arrived in Camarillo! It's SO GOOD! I ordered a Large iced "heart attack" and I was so impressed that it had such good coffee flavor and wasn't too sweet even with all the yummy stuff they put in it. Then today my friend told me to try the "Sandy kisses chiller" Wow! It was so tasty! I'll be getting that one again for sure. I'll be trying something different tomorrow too!! This place has consistently had a long line since it opened. Perhaps seeing that led me to raise my expectations and end up disappointed. Aside from the modern island ambiance, sporting modern Hawaiian decor on the walls, and the some pretty good customer service, I fail to see the attraction. They use Torani syrups, which you can get at any store. However, their chocolate is one of the worst tasting chocolates to use for mochas, it makes a mocha or any chocolate based drink taste like it came out of a vending machine. They don't have any ceramic mugs to properly enjoy a hot coffee or latte, and the coffee itself was just mediocre. It wasn't bitter, but it wasn't that good either. It somewhat reminded me of the artificial stuff you get at Dutch Bros. Coffee for people that don't like the taste of coffee. I also got to try a Caramel Crunch Chai, an extremely syrupy sweet concoction my significant other drank half of and threw away. For the mini-me I got a strawberry smoothie. I thought it tasted like a virgin margarita with the whip cream, it was the only thing I found tasty but alas, the kid said it was "too sour" and that too ended up in the trash. Overall if you're in the area and looking for a quick pick me up I guess this would do the trick, especially given the lack of good coffee options in Camarillo. However Starbucks is just down the road in the target shopping center and offers better drinks in my opinion. Makenna Koffee seems to be all the rage, so of course we had to try it. With its cute aesthetic and ambiance this koffee place definitely gives us island vibes. Service was great and pretty fast, considering how busy they were. My husband ordered a mocha, I ordered the caramel crunch chai, and strawberry smoothie for my son. Out of the three, the smoothie was hands down the favorite. The caramel crunch chai was sweet, which I expected, however it just didn't do it for me. Everything sunk to the bottom of the cup and I had to constantly stir. My husband described his mocha as horrible and wondered why this place was popular. Love this location that opened a few months ago. Makenna has quickly become the local hot spot to get caffeinated! Today I tried the seasonal pumpkin Cream Spice Latte , iced of course , with their signature foam top. Little crunchy sprinkles were scattered amongst the foam cloud. Making it feel like fall! The lovely blonde cashier was so friendly and helpful with her gorgeous big blue eyes, reminding me of AnnaSophia Robb. There were a line of customers that joined after me but the entire crew were working like busy bees to get everyone's orders in and out. Highly recommend checking out the Camarillo location! Coffee is good. Lacks consistency. The only thing consistent there is how long they take to make the drinks. Service is so slow even with the most amount of workers on the floor.
