First Timer ! Outstanding coffee place ! It's a must try ! Coffee names are just something else ! We were actually kind of shocked that the big corporate Mermaid was no longer at the outlets. It was time for my afternoon caffeine fix and this was the only place to get some iced coffee without having to jump in the car and go elsewhere. We ordered an iced coffee and one of their special caramel iced coffees. The cashier was very nice and patient as we picked out what we wanted. This is actually I nice place to relax and enjoy your drink and people watch.
I understand wanting some flavor in your coffee, but this was pure sugar. More like "do you want a side of coffee with your creamer?" vibes. I got the brown sugar shaken espresso with oat milk, and honestly, sugar was pretty much all I could taste. It was way too sweet and almost sickly. That said, the service was excellent. I asked if I could get some water to dilute it, but instead, she kindly offered to remake it at 1/4 sweetness. Honestly, that was where it was good! Much more balanced and I could actually taste the coffee. They weren't the quickest, so I'd say this is more of a spot to come when you have time to sit, chat, and hang out rather than grab something quickly. Overall, it's okay. Nothing I'd go out of my way for, but I'd give it another shot at the lower sweetness.
Ok my first time trying Makenna Koffee and it was very good!! I tried the Cabo San Lucas iced with almond milk and half sweet. It was very tasty and the foam they put on top was very tasty!! Mmmmmmm... I also tried the chocolate muffin which was so 5/5!! So fresh and when you warm it up, it's even better. The service was good and since it was my first time, the lady who worked there was very informative on what to try. I also learned that they use Maui milk, which is a secret ingredient milk that they use for their milk. It's very nice inside giving beach vibes and very energetic!! It's very clean and spacious. It has many seats as well and merch to buy! Cool ambiance for sure to take a coffee break! They have many different types of drinks here! I am happy one is opening near me in Northridge!! Makenna Koffee has quickly become one of my favorite cafes. I love Hawaii and I love everything that has the Hawaiia vibe, but not only was the atmosphere great, the coffe was delicious. I tried the Maui Latte, and I loved it!!! Very delicious. Delicious coffee will soothe your tired body after shopping. Recommended for those who like sweet coffee. I didn't try, but they had a Valentine's drink menu, so it seems they have seasonal special drinks. The service was friendly and nice. Why not give it a try when you go shopping at the outlet mall in Camarillo?

I have had this on my Yelp bookmark list of "must-try" for a while. Camarillo is a good 20 minute drive from me so it's not exactly a convenient location from me. But I had to go to Camarillo this morning for an errand and took advantage of this trip to stop by. Let me start with the pros: the vibe is welcoming, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Yes, this is definitely a young-coffee spot. I did see a few older people sitting down inside but I also saw a lot of 20-30 something picking up their mobile orders. The decor is very modern with a strong travel or vacation vibe. The pastry display looked amazing. The coffee cakes are about 4 inches in diameter and I love they offer some gluten-free options. You don't see that at most coffee shops. The drink menu is pretty extensive and if you look at the barista counters you see the shelves filled with lots of Toriani flavored syrups. Their Christmas menu is one of the most extensive ones I have seen. Now the con and the main reason I had to give it a 3 star. I ordered a hot caramel chai with a shot of espresso. "Hot" and my coffee cannot be associated. My coffee was lukewarm. I was so sad when I took my first sip and realized it couldn't have been more than 100°F. I didn't want to be "that" customer and go back in and complain that it was not hot. I don't know if the barista just didn't realize that she didn't steam the milk long enough or if they use a chai concentrate that is refrigerated and that was not warmed enough or what. But it's really upsetting to pay $7.25 for a lukewarm coffee plus I had tipped $1 which I now deeply regret as the barista that made my drink did not deserve a tip for this. I had to wait until I got home and nuke it in the microwave to make it drinkable. Update: I had paid through Square and received the text about my order. I was able to rate how the service as on it and insert a comment. The owner messaged me back and apologized and refunded me. I think they take their customer complaints seriously and that shows me that they care. So I have changed from a 3 to a 5 stars.
This place is the Cheesecake Factory of Coffee Shops. Not too long ago I tried the Ventura location and was happy with the experience although I didn't care for my drink. So when I saw they opened a location near my home I wanted to try a different drink. Upon arrival it was very busy but surprisingly clean. No empty coffee cups just sitting around or trash on the floor. You can even watch them make the coffees and that area looked nearly spotless. The counter person was very nice and attentive even greeting us with a smile. This time I ordered the Haylee and was very happy with the taste. My only issue was the wait time for the coffee. It took a very long time for our order. If they can dial in on their methods of order preparation this place could be my new go-to coffee place.
Drinks were good, service was quick, and ambiance is nice with plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor. Can't wait for the one in Gardena to open up!
I love this place so much but every time I come here it's my 5/6th time at Camarillo location they always get my order wrong Today I bought a chocolate croissant and by the time they made my order they told me they sold out when they we're making other people's orders and when it came time to give me my croissant, of course they had ran out so I just got a refund. I love to see Valley location. My order is always correct. They're always on point. I think Camarillo has some work to do as far as customer service I get that it's a young staff, but also the attitude doesn't help but overall very good quality product products.
My husband and I were doing a quick drive through of the outlets and he def needed coffee. He said Makenna came up a few times when he was researching earlier this morning. It's super clean, organized, and cute. Walking in, it gave a combo of California and Hawaii vibes - that fun, chill, laid back feeling. The guy who took our order was attentive and answered questions we had and also asked questions to make sure we got what we wanted. When my husband asked about the Maui milk (their special blend of sweetened dairy milk) he noted that it's dairy based since we were ordering oat milk with our coffees. My husband said YOLO and went for it. He's alive and well if you were concerned lol We both ordered their holiday specials: cookie butter and the peppermint snowball (I'm on a white chocolate peppermint kick). Their lattes are delicious! The only thing is that I wished it had a little more coffee (it's super light with the coffee flavor). They have an extensive menu so take your time because they have several screens of options. Also, there was a girl working who was calling out orders and she noticed my husband standing there (not for very long) and sweetly checked in with him about our order and she gave us a status update. They're great. If we're in the area, we'll be back!

I got the Taylor which has toasted marshmallow and white chocolate flavor. It was pretty good. Sweet so definitely a treat type of coffee. Their turkey breakfast sandwich and croissant were also good! Buttery croissant warmed up was a hit. Love the vibe. A little loud but just like a Starbucks would be. But really cute and casual vibe. Good for a date or coffee meet up. The only reason I have less than 5 stars is because I was a little disappointed with the service. All are young staff which is not bad. In fact, good for them for working and learning. It seems the cashier was just starting there. When I got my order I specifically asked sandwich and the croissant? I did because my name was totally wrong so wanted to sure and one of the packages didn't look like it was a croissant. He pointed to both and named it as my ordered items. Just looking at each other trying to figure out what happened. It's not the mistake or learning curve that bothered me. But, I felt some disbelief from her when I said I did not get my ordered items. Hoping this is a moment for learning customer service.

Makenna Koffee is such a cute Hawaiian coffee shop! The ambience is amazing, super cool, laid-back, and welcoming. It can get a little loud, but you could definitely still bring your laptop, study, get some work done, or just hang out and enjoy your coffee. We ordered the cheese danish, the Summer Love, which is a delicious iced vanilla coffee, and the Salty Ex-Girlfriend which is a caramel and vanilla latte with salted caramel cold foam. Everything was so good! The drinks were flavorful and refreshing, and the cheese danish was the perfect little treat to go with them. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the drinks, and the whole Hawaiian coffee shop vibe. Such a fun spot to chill and enjoy a good coffee. Definitely recommend checking out Makena Coffee! read more

Great coffee and lattes! You can apparently preorder online and pick up later, which might be the way to go. We stopped by on a Saturday morning in June when the store was basically empty--only 2 people waiting for drinks and about 5-6 baristas working. Somehow, it still took around 20 minutes to get our drinks. Tasty drinks, but definitely expect a wait, even when it doesn't look busy! read more

Makenna Koffee Company is taking over the 805 and we are so lucky to have one of their newest, big, beautiful shops right here in Camarillo. Located at the Camarillo Outlets, it's the perfect stop for some pre-shopping fuel. If you haven't tried Makenna yet...it's paradise in a cup. Their menu is HUGE and they have unique flavors that help separate them from other coffee shops. I've visited a few locations and honestly haven't found a drink I didn't love. Plus, they've got hot food and pastries, so it's a whole vibe inside. My forever fave - the Surfer Girl : A strawberry lemonade that's creamy, fruity, refreshing, and absolutely perfect if you want something non-coffee. I also love their Red Bull energy drinks. I tried the seasonal caramel green apple and it tasted like fall in a cup. Loved the caramel drizzle, and it definitely woke me up. Lol. Honestly, the drink options here are endless and you'll find something for even your pickiest of coffee drinkers. And HUGE shoutout to the amazing team at this location. Makenna's staff is always so friendly and helpful, and Alexa made my visit feel so warm and welcoming. Customer service is always a 10/10 here. read more

It's perfect for a quick coffee stop, a casual date, or a little break while shopping. The modern island decor and open, airy feel definitely give it character. Drinks are WAY sweet, treat-style lattes, but the coffee flavor can feel light and underwhelming. Chocolate-based drinks, like mochas, leaned a bit artificial to me, and the caramel crunch chai was overly syrupy. I also tried a matcha-like drink, and unfortunately couldn't finish it. If you're just after a sweet pick-me-up, it'll do the job, but coffee purists may be disappointed. Food is pretty solid, breakfast sandwiches and buttery croissants are definitely good, and they don't skimp on portions. Service is generally friendly, though there were some hiccups with order accuracy, likely due to new or training staff. Overall, Makenna Koffee is cute, fun, and has a friendly atmosphere, but the coffee itself didn't quite live up to the hype. A solid 3/5. read more
While eating at Latitude restaurant this coffee place was next door. I wanted a dessert so I went there after eating, and decided to try it out. I had the special recipe vanilla latte with a chocolate muffin. The latte was so creamy and tasty, with a smoothness, and the muffin was soft and very flavorful. Service was good and the place is cute with a trendy atmosphere. It has beautiful blue colors. Parking was easy in front of the location. read more

So on the way back from Carpinteria needed a pick me up for the drive back to LA. As always Yelp for the win! Makenna Koffee was great. I ordered the Cabo San Lucas. It had the perfect mix of coffee. It wasn't to overbearing. Perfect coffee and sweetness. My nephew ordered the Chocolate Chipping chip freeze that was yummy as well. It was freshening and not overbearing on the chocolate. The cashier was very nice and sweet. It's a nice chill location. Place was packed. People coming and going constantly. So many options the menu can be a little much. I'll definitely take a drive back to try some other options. Great job read more

We were in Camarillo visiting for the holidays and heard this new coffee joint was a must try. To be transparent, I'm a bit of a bougie coffee girl. I have a Nespresso at home and make myself all sorts of fun things regularly. And we have an abundance of cute and delicious coffee shops in Idaho. With that said... I have been to Makenna Koffee every day since I arrived in Camarillo! It's SO GOOD! I ordered a Large iced "heart attack" and I was so impressed that it had such good coffee flavor and wasn't too sweet even with all the yummy stuff they put in it. Then today my friend told me to try the "Sandy kisses chiller" Wow! It was so tasty! I'll be getting that one again for sure. I'll be trying something different tomorrow too!! I also ended up buying some bags of coffee to take back home to Idaho and enjoy. read more

An absolute gem. I stopped in on my way to Oxnard for work after being referred by a friend, and this place exceeded every expectation. From the start, everything felt seamless--easy parking, a beautifully clean space, and genuinely welcoming staff who made the experience feel warm and inviting. The pastry case was nothing short of stunning, with each item looking like a work of art. I chose the marble cake, an almond croissant, and a large heart-shaped pistachio pastry--and every single bite delivered. The croissant was perfectly flaky and buttery, the marble cake incredibly moist and balanced, and the pistachio pastry rich, delicate, and absolutely indulgent. Even during the busy 8 AM rush, the wait time was only about 10 minutes, which speaks to how efficiently everything is run without sacrificing quality. read more

I've been waiting for this moment when Makenna would open up this location and it's finally here! Had to come by on their first day open for a pick me up . Super cute inside . Love the open space with plenty of seatings . I highly appreciate the thoughtfulness put in to where you stand in line for when it gets busy. I've tried a few and loved depending on what I'm in the mood for : Shaken cinnamon brown sugar oat espresso is sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet . Gives me the happy pick me up I need every time . 5/5 Sandy brunette is simply sweet and light. 4/5 Brown sugar cinnamon cold brew (with oat milk ) was my first drink here . Less sweet than the shaken one . 4/5 Cabo San Lucas is light and clean . Slightly sweet. 4/5 Overall I loooove it here . They got me hooked! read more
what a cutie little spot Makenna Koffee is! with a huge variety of drinks to choose from, there is surely something for everyone (coffee and non-coffee drinkers unite)! the staff are extremely friendly, explained the menu to us, and made great recommendations! i unfortunately only took a picture of my vanilla latte with protein powder. we also had a chocolate cream cold brew, the chili verde breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich with bacon, and a ham and cheese croissant! the food was 10/10; no notes!. the coffee however i wished was just a taaaad milky for my preference. i would've loved a stronger coffee flavor. i felt like it was super light -- even the cold brew. otherwise it was just lovely. the inside is decorated SO fun and cute; on brand with the hawaiian vibe. will absolutely be back the next time we're in the area! read more

This place has consistently had a long line since it opened. Perhaps seeing that led me to raise my expectations and end up disappointed. Aside from the modern island ambiance, sporting modern Hawaiian decor on the walls, and the some pretty good customer service, I fail to see the attraction. They use Torani syrups, which you can get at any store. However, their chocolate is one of the worst tasting chocolates to use for mochas, it makes a mocha or any chocolate based drink taste like it came out of a vending machine. They don't have any ceramic mugs to properly enjoy a hot coffee or latte, and the coffee itself was just mediocre. It wasn't bitter, but it wasn't that good either. It somewhat reminded me of the artificial stuff you get at Dutch Bros. Coffee for people that don't like the taste of coffee. I also got to try a Caramel Crunch Chai, an extremely syrupy sweet concoction my significant other drank half of and threw away. For the mini-me I got a strawberry smoothie. I thought it tasted like a virgin margarita with the whip cream, it was the only thing I found tasty but alas, the kid said it was "too sour" and that too ended up in the trash. Overall if you're in the area and looking for a quick pick me up I guess this would do the trick, especially given the lack of good coffee options in Camarillo. However Starbucks is just down the road in the target shopping center and offers better drinks in my opinion. This place does offer a nicer atmosphere to sit down with friends, and rest while shopping though. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating. read more
Makenna Koffee seems to be all the rage, so of course we had to try it. With its cute aesthetic and ambiance this koffee place definitely gives us island vibes. Service was great and pretty fast, considering how busy they were. My husband ordered a mocha, I ordered the caramel crunch chai, and strawberry smoothie for my son. Out of the three, the smoothie was hands down the favorite. The caramel crunch chai was sweet, which I expected, however it just didn't do it for me. Everything sunk to the bottom of the cup and I had to constantly stir. My husband described his mocha as horrible and wondered why this place was popular. Overall, we probably won't be back but due to its atmosphere and service the place deserves three stars. read more

needed some caffeine after a long day. the fam were out shopping and i recruited my dad to look for some coffee with me. makenna koffee is exactly what i needed!!! what a stinkin cute shop!! total island vibes. love it. service was cool. i believe it is the only coffee shop in the outlets? smart move. their menu is a bit extensive. 4 boards of drinks. i ordered: iced santa's cookie: White chocolate, toasted marshmallow, almond roca latte with kona cloud not sure what drink i ended up getting bc there was no toasted marshmallow? it was really good tho LOL parking: located in between Ubatuba Açaí and Latitude 34 in the promenade section of the outlets. there is usually no issues finding parking on this end. read more

The people were friendly & the coffee was even more amazing! I'll deff be back. I got the chillin in Cabo and as you can see.... It was deliciously devoured! To date idk what Maui milk is but I would drive from LA to Camarillo on any given weekend to have some more. read more

Crazy busy. Line out the door; and we asked, yes it is always like this. Trendy, faddy and confusing menu. They played retro 80's music which was cool. The coffee was not bold, no matter how many shots you add. I had a pistachio americano, that lacked any coherent pistachio flavor. Love this location that opened a few months ago. Makenna has quickly become the local hot spot to get caffeinated! Today I tried the seasonal pumpkin Cream Spice Latte , iced of course , with their signature foam top. Little crunchy sprinkles were scattered amongst the foam cloud. Making it feel like fall! The lovely blonde cashier was so friendly and helpful with her gorgeous big blue eyes, reminding me of AnnaSophia Robb. There were a line of customers that joined after me but the entire crew were working like busy bees to get everyone's orders in and out. Highly recommend checking out the Camarillo location! You can find them in the outlets, snuggled in between a variety of other places to eat. read more
