I have come to Rolling Pin many times. Anytime we are near by my little one recognizes it and wants to stop by. When I walk in, it's always nice that someone always greets us. Super nice employees all the time. Anytime I have gone, they always have a good selection of donuts. We always find some that we like. They have a drink menu. They offer a variety of different coffees, lattes, and other drinks. I have not had their drinks. They do sound good. They do take card but cash is preferred. There is a small fee to use card. They have outdoor and indoor seating just in case you want to enjoy your donut and drink. Also great lighting if you want to bring a book to read. Overall, love coming here and find it adorable that my little one knows this place and gets excited to grab some donuts. read more

This spot is a total "D'oh-not" miss! Beyond the fantastic treats, I loved the nods to The Simpsons--from the themed boxes to the iconic Homer donut. The shop itself is very clean, inviting, and surprisingly spacious with plenty of seating to sit back and enjoy your haul. The large selection of donuts and all beautifully displayed. I came here with a friend on Saturday morning (about 11am) as part of a Yelp Elite event where registered Yelp folks could get donuts and a small coffee for free. There were three other Yelpers attending while I visited, and all of them were given their pick of two donuts (from particular shelves/categories) but for some reason I was just given two donuts the staff picked. I'm not sure why. I received a custard filled with chocolate on top, and a cinnamon crumble covered donut. I liked the custard a fair bit, and the cinnamon was okay but those type tend to leave a funny aftertaste in my mouth and this was no exception. I would have selected two other ones if I had been given the option. Staff was friendly and generally welcoming, especially the younger man. Regarding the coffee, I asked for a decaf and they said they could only give me what was approved, so I told them just to skip that, since I wouldn't drink a regular, and I was really happy they were able to work something out and provided me with a decaf. That was very nice of them. Yelp also had a little swag for participants and that was fun. In other news, I bought myself a mini apple fritter and an apple cronut to-go, along with 2 dozen donut holes I brought to a get-together. The apple fritter was great, just as it should be, and the apple cronut was fantastic, though messy to eat. It was like a cronut, sliced in half, with some apple filling added, and then coated in sugar. Flaky, delicious. It was also $5 which was more than I expected, so I'm not sure if I'd order it again for price alone, but for taste it was my favorite thing. My friends all liked the donut holes. I got to try a bite of my friend's lemon old fashioned, which sounded amazing, but was ultimately disappointing. Not very lemony at all. It would have been better with a nice strong lemon glaze on top! The shop was clean, comfortable, and a spacious feel to it. Good selection of donuts, including some fun ones like cereal topped. Store also sells merch items. Open LONG hours, like 5am to midnight or something. Overall a good place to stop if you're in the mood for something sweet. read more

I was craving the cake donut holes -although it's unfortunate that this location doesn't make them :( (so sad!). Settled on a cinnamon roll -which was great, heated up when I got home. Service was good -we chatted about how it was the owner's decision to NOT sell the cake donut holes at this location, as supposedly they weren't selling well. I was in the area and had some time before an appointment to stop by for a sweet treat. I got the cinnamon roll. It's big, soft and fresh. The clerk asked me if I wanted it warmed up so naturally I said yes. It was delicious and although it looked like a lot of frosting it was just the right ratio. read more

The staff was super helpful going through each donut and answering questions regarding possible cross contamination with peanuts due to my little ones allergy. They could not guarantee anything but let us know the peanuts are kept in a separate container, glaze chocolate round donuts are made at a different time than those with peanuts, all donuts are transferred using gloves, etc. My kids peanut allergy has subsided to only if he ingests actual peanuts so we went with a chocolate with sprinkles which he ate without issue. He said it was really good and given the size of it he was full before he finished the donut. The Mrs Yelper got a mini apple fritter, which she ate some of and brought home given that she ate some of my blueberry round. I'd say their apple fritters are the best thing in the menu. The dining area had ample room and this is a great place for families to come for a donut, with donuts such as the Homer Simpson, and m&m donuts. They usually have plain, apple, strawberry or custard. They are all tasty. I also like their buttermilk bars, chocolate bars/raised donuts, and old fashioned donuts. They also have cake donuts, sprinkled donuts, blueberry, red velvet, maple bacon, and seasonal holiday special donuts. I had heard of the notorious Rolling Pin in Camarillo so getting one in Ventura was super exciting. I love donuts (who doesn't!?) so I was happy to treat myself and finally try this spot. As a girl who doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, I really came here for science lol. I wanted to be able to jump on the cool person bandwagon to review this hot and new donut shop in Ventura. Rolling pin has a cult following in the 805 and living in Camarillo myself, I am fully aware of the hype of this spot as the Camarillo location is always busy. I was mentally prepared that this spot is likely to stay super busy and of course it's nice that people were excited about trying this business. After reading a few other reviews, I knew it would be smart to come earlier in the morning before their stock ran out. Came on a weekday at 7:45am and it was thankfully pretty quiet, at least compared to what I expected. When I walked in there were only three ahead of me. I appreciated that even though there weren't many of us the manager was keeping tabs and politely asked his staff to open up the second register. I thought that was pretty awesome as it moved it right along quicker. It's little attention to details and stellar customer service that made me a fan today. The donut selection was on point before 8am. They had everything in stock and plenty to choose from. I had the Homer Simpson white frosted donut with rainbow sprinkles. The donut was really good and large. Again, not much of a sweet tooth type of a person, but for a one off donut it was good. Donuts are on the thicker side here so preference wise just good to know. It was definitely fresh and tasty. I'd give it a 4/5 overall. Very good but I like a little bit of a lighter airy donut, it's a preference thing. I thought pricing was reasonable. Two donuts came to under $4. Not sure what the going rate for donuts are but with this place being super hyped I honestly expected to pay more, so that was a happy update. Staff here are very nice and the gal working the counter when I came in was bubbly and friendly. I acknowledged how the manager also seemed real nice and thoughtful earlier. Nice people work here. Also the storefront itself was very clean and the inside immaculate. Cleared off clean tables inside and the decor pops. This store gives a very retro fun look and honestly this place would be really enjoyable for kids coming in. Happy to have rolling pin on this side of town. I was advised to try this place out from a friend who knows I love donuts, but only indulge once in a while. I got what I think is the Tiger's Tail. It was glazed, long and twisted. It was fresh and melt in your mouth soft and delicious. Just be by a couch or bed afterwards, because you will definitely have a sugar high and be ready to knock out if you don't eat sweets often! You know we were there at 4:45am opening day, waiting for them to open at 5 - so excited to get a Rolling Pin right here in Ventura that we could not wait to get a donut! Delicious donuts as expected! Love their new Blueberry Crumbs (the crumb on top was so flaky and tasty!) and Oreo cookie donuts. Both so fresh. While it's super close, the blueberry just squeezes out on top over the Oreo. Great new additions! Different than the Camarillo location in that you order inside. Plenty of indoor seating as well. Rolling Pin Donuts have good donuts and definitely will satisfy your donut cravings. I went around a week after their grand opening and had to wait in a mini line. Upon entering, I realized that the aroma was different than other donut shops. It really reminded me of freshly baked sourdough. I asked the cashier why it had this certain smell and supposedly, they make their donuts with a different type of yeast compared to other donut shops. Looking at the selections, there weren't that many to choose from. I decided to go with the classic and chocolate sprinkle donuts. It tasted yummy, warm and fresh, but it really didn't have much of a different taste and texture than other mom and pop donut shops. Randomly drove by the area and was happy to see this location finally open on a Friday morning after school drop offs. There was a line inside. The inside is bright, clean, and welcoming. The character statues inside are cute. It's pretty neat that they used the Google map location for its background showcasing both of their store locations. I've only been to the Camarillo location once years ago, so I won't compare the two places. As this was still a soft opening, it was understandable that they had limited donuts available by 10 am (so stop complaining people!) The staff were hard at work & remained welcoming and friendly. Who in their right mind would give this place a 1 star rating? Such an amazing donut shop to stop at during my lunch or even on the way home! Service is amazing and fast. I've never waited more than five minutes to get my donut. Place is bigger than most donut shops and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. Not relaxing like steam is being shot out of a hose kind of relaxing, but like, there's not a lot of noise inside of donut shop kind of relaxing I definitely love their chocolate chip donut or anything with sprinkles! Honestly, all of it is yummy Their hot chocolate is THE BEST!!!! Especially with some creamer on it. All of their stuff is great. 5 stars for the flavor of the donuts. But, I ordered a birthday cake a week in advance for my son's 10th birthday and paid online via their TOAST website. We selected the flavors and toppings to his liking. When we arrived at pick up time they had forgotten to make the cake. So weird. And it was like they were anticipating our arrival and knew the cake wasn't made all morning. Why wouldn't someone call us to let us know there was no cake to pick up? Finally got to check out the new Ventura location of rolling pin. The location is huge which is nice when there's a line you can be inside versus the cam location where you are outside in the elements, on a cold winter evening when a craving hits that's a plus. There are seats inside and outside on a patio where you can enjoy the treats. They had tons of options freshly made, I will say for a place that was glorified for the cronut they only had a couple custard filled cronuts and no other options. I'd like more of those options to really set them above the other local donut shops. All in all a fantastic shop, tons of options and great service! read more

This place was a lot bigger than I expected. Especially compared to the original location. The inside's aesthetic is classic donut diner. During October they have an orange glazed that is my favorite. I called ahead to make sure they had them. Staff were nice when we got there and ordered. This review is of the opening day experience and was a soft opening. I love Rolling Pin Donuts and have been to the Camarillo location several times, so I was looking forward to their opening here. Due to the soft opening, they had only a few products, but that was enough for me since I can only eat a little. The cashier lady also said that they sold all the items once in the morning, so I was lucky if I only had a few items. I tried the original and maple donuts. I already knew they tasted good, and they were also delicious in this location. They were large, fluffy donuts, and I ate two at once. I would have liked to try cronuts if they were on sale, but unfortunately, they weren't, so I'll try them next time I get a chance. Another thing that makes me happy is that this store is next to my favorite, Pincha Boba. You all know that my diet won't work, lol . The store is located near Winco and Dollar Tree, so it's an excellent place to grab a donut while shopping. There are plenty of parking spaces, but depending on the time of day, it can get very crowded, so you may have to park a little further away. read more
