My family and I came here after church. We thought they have good reviews and good food options so I'd give it a try. Service I would give it zero stars in my opinion. Our server seem to be really new and not knowing what she was doing. It was frustrating having to ask for everything the whole time. We decided to get the meat lovers skillet, tricolor burrito, fiesta omelette, French toast. I asked for the shredded beef for my tricolor burrito, I also asked for no onions as this was another ingredient with this burrito. When I got my burrito, I thought there was a lot of onions. So I asked the server. She went to the kitchen and asked and was told that the shredded beef comes with onions. I believe that since I had mentioned, I don't want any onions, it would have been great to mention that the shredded beef already has onions so we would have chosen another meat option and not send the dish back to the kitchen. After I received my plate, saw so many onions, decided to mention it to the server and that's when she went back to the kitchen to ask, then realized it has the onions. And when I asked for asada meat, I was told it's extra. All this conversation, the server keeps coming back-and-forth to the kitchen, which was really frustrating. I end up getting the chicken, it was a good option. Honestly not sure what happened here. I'm just greatful Uner Eats gave us a partial refund for this disaster. Our order: 1 French toast combo, 2 bacon and egg breakfast sandwhiches with sides of crispy hash brown, and 1 strawberries & cream French toast. 1. French toast combo wasn't actually a combo, just French toast. They missed the entire rest of the combo which was hash brown, egg, and 2 slices bacon. 2. Strawberries & "cream" French toast came with no butter / no cream as advertised on the photo. Dry and without any syrup, and little flavor. At least they managed to include strawberries. 3. Hash browns for both sandwhiches were ordered as "crispy". They arrived almost soggy with just a slightly burnt top layer, no salt, and sad. We were looking for a brunch place that could accommodate 7 of us on Easter. When I messaged them on Yelp, they said of course! They had a table ready for us and a large selection of breakfast and lunch items to choose from. I of course ordered the Eggs Benedict with fruit since why mess with perfection. We enjoyed our first visit to Scrambled Eggs Cafe. We weren't the biggest fan of their Cafe De Olla, but the food was good and reasonably priced. We ordered the California Omelette and Machaca Plate as well as the Tres Leches Pancakes to share. Our entrees were decent, but needed a bit of help from their homemade habanero sauce. It's spicy and packled with flavor! Definitely worth the burn. The Tres Leches Pancakes were by far the best thing we ordered. They were perfectly sweet and refreshing. The food and customer service aren't good enough to rate Scrambled Eggs Cafe 5 stars but, overall we enjoyed our meal and will be back for more! read more

I asked our server Marlene for suggestions. I said I definitely wanted Mexican food. She recommended the chilaquiles. Normally I won't order because everyone makes them differently. She explained they use the chile commonly used in Mexico City, I gave it a try. I got rice and beans instead of potatoes. Chilaquiles were delicious. Eggs over easy cooked perfectly. The creaminess of the egg with the flavor of the salsa was a perfect union. I didn't love the raw onions but it complimented the chips. The rice and beans were abuela approved. Beans were flavorful. Rice was perfectly cooked and very comforting homemade taste. Marlene was super sweet and attentive even though she was the only one working. The restaurant is very cute. I loved all the cow decor. We came from a bit of a distance, and was so worth it. My father who is hard to please loved his breakfast sandwich, complimented with crispy Tots, and wants to go back again instead of our local breakfast place. It is lovely to have a breakfast/brunch place open from 7 AM- 2 PM. There are not a lot of these eateries with this kind of timing, especially if you got up early. However, one of these places is a less known, hardly advertised restaurant, called Scrambled Eggs Cafe, in Simi Valley. Walking in around noon, there were only two other tables that were occupied. The cozy, uniquely decorated place was quiet and one gets the brain thought, unsolicited of course, did I come to the right place? I had done some homework and pretty much knew what I was going to order. Still, I was inquisitive and eager to peruse the extensive menu and, as expected, ended up still choosing my favorite class of breakfast selection. Needless to say, it had to be an Eggs Benedict concoction. They had more than one choice in this category and I decided to go for the California Eggs Benedict, with bacon, tomato, and instead of the avocado, I asked for the sautéed spinach. Just had the urge, to try a new twist to this combination. They fully obliged. For the side, I chose potatoes, requesting the best of both worlds. Half of the house potatoes and half of the hash browns. They politely consented. When the breakfast dish came to my table, it was simple, but had griddle aroma and one could observe and smell the freshness. I first went for the potatoes. Both of them blew me away. The house potatoes were fresh, nicely browned, not overdone, a light crisp on the outside, perfect texture, amazing taste. You could actually absorb the rich starch of the potatoes. Hashbrowns were the same, very nicely prepared. Needless to say, the poached eggs were perfect. It is not often that you come to a place where every Item on a multi component dish, is superb. My wife called it in as a phone pick up, I chose the BBQ chicken wrap, and she picked the Tipsy toast. They said it would be ready in 15 and they sure kept that promise, great looking place indoors, clean and great staff. Took 25 minutes to get the food. When they brought out our food, the order was incorrect. My kids fruit cup was sticky and dirty-- had avocado remnants in it. My plate was dirty with strawberry juice but didnt order strawberries. The hollandaise was grainy and raw tasting like flour. We had to ask 3 times for silverware before receiving it. Had breakfast there this morning. The place is very clean and well organized. I will say the farmhouse decorations seem to be every breakfast place in Simi. The young lady that served me was so nice and courteous. She said she made the hot sauce. 10 Stars for the sauce. I ordered the Florentine Eggs Benedict. Really good, although the sauce was little thin. The has browns were crispy as they should be. Overall, great restaurant in Simi. We are lacking good small restaurants besides all the mexican food. I tried the Tres Leches strawberry pancakes, I'm hooked! Now all other pancakes that I've ever tried pale in comparison like they're bare sponges. I normally do not write reviews, but this restaurant deserved one. I stopped to get a quick breakfast to go, and I am so glad that I did! If you are looking for a breakfast that is reasonably priced and cooked exactly the way you ask for it, then this is your place. I ordered my eggs over medium, (which can be very difficult) and they were cooked perfectly. My bacon was not the thin I-HOP style, bacon, it was the bacon that you would cook for yourself at home. It was also cooked the way I asked it for it...crispy. It was a delicious breakfast and I highly recommend that anyone in the area, (or if you are passing through Simi Valley)..then stop and give this Mom and Pop place try. You won't be disappointed. This place used to be great. Now it's just mid at best. I try to avoid eating there since they rebranded and changed ownership. Not enough servers to cover the floor. They must have changed chefs (edit: turns out it's the same chef allegedly. But my meat scramble was burnt to heck and they used garlic butter on my sour dough???) We loved this place when we moved here. I hope they do better. I talked to the "manager" and ask him to have more than 2 servers on a Saturday morning and a brand new server should be shadowing an experienced server before they are on their own. I will come back again someday and give them another chance but there are plenty of other options in the neighborhood. Please do better. read more

I went with my family so we got a bunch of dishes to try - the steak and eggs, country fried steak, tres leches pancakes, and carnitas burrito. Everything was delicious, but my favorites especially were the tres leches pancakes and carnitas burrito. The tres leches pancakes came with milk syrup, strawberries, whipped cream, and condensed milk. It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, which I appreciated. As for the carnitas burrito, it was flavorful and savory but not too salty. I like having a variety of things in my burrito and it was plenty stuffed with rice, beans, onions, cilantro, and carnitas. Since we ordered so much food, we definitely didn't finish but I happily took my leftovers home to continue eating later in the day. I'd love to come back and try more items on their menu. I loved everything about this visit! The service was more than amazing! At 9:30 in the morning on a Sunday, there was no wait to be seated. Prior to ordering, the server (who I'm pretty sure is the owner of the restaurant) provided us with the specials (that were not listed on the menu). So grateful for that because my husband was craving Chilaquiles. He enjoyed his meal, because although the chips were covered in sauce, the chips maintained its crispness! I ordered Machaca and eggs, and it was so tasty! I was given a good size portion, and our server even gave us a side of habanero salsa on the side. I'm not a fan of too hot salsa , but this salsa was perfect! The kids enjoyed their meals also, especially the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were flaky and buttery and were covered with delicious gravy. We will absolutely make this our go-to brunch spot the next time we are in the Simi Valley area. read more
