I haven't been here is a while. The food was always very good. There are no more menus so you order off your phone with a QR code which is annoying. Prices have gone way up. Portions have gone way down. Seems to be the norm now. Less quality and quantity costs more. Had the Greek Salad w gyro meat. Tiny salad and the meat was very dry. Disappointing. I'd rather pay more for the same quality and portion size but that's a death knell for restaurants today. Smaller portions, lesser quality and higher prices is the ticket to survival these days. The menu and service here is amazing. The servers are friendly and helpful. They check on you often and our beverages are never empty. The food never disappoints. The gyro is always tasty. The seasonings are perfect and its always cooked just right. The meat is tender, no matter what part of the spit it is shaved from. The salad is fresh and crisp. The avgolemono soup is my favorite. It is warm and tangy and perfect on a summer day. Another table ordered saganaki and they did present it very well by turning off the lights to get the full effect. I have yet to order it at this location but I am sure it is phenomenal as the table ordered another. I took my friend and two year old to dinner the other night and we had a great time. They had a highchair for my kid and made her feel really comfortable (my kid is also really quiet and well mannered so she wasn't making a bunch of noise and upsetting the other guests, we would have paid and left had we been) The food was excellent as always and my friend who is Greek, chowed down. The atmosphere is super friendly, and in the best possible way, feminine. Clean, comfortable, safe, well lit. It feels like the perfect place to have a filling tasty lunch for the ladies and has a great wine selection. They have a little shop in the restaurant so check it out. I have not a bad word to say about the food or the experience so make sure if you're feeling a good lamb Gyro you go check them out. We got a Veggie Combo Plate and Fish & Chips on June 27th and both meals were very good. We got the same meal today and it's terrible. it's like the food came from a completely different restaurant. My fish was burnt black and very dry. Last time the chips (fries) were golden brown and very tasty. This time they were dry and tasteless - as though they'd been fried twice. My meal wasnt edible and cost $20.00. I don't know if the place changed hands in the lady two weeks or whether it was a different cook but I would NOT have served this meal to a customer. read more

I was a bit disappointed when I went here recently. The menu price is not what they charge you. The gal at the cashier said that the price fluctuates daily and the owner increases it or decreases it depending on his mood. She pointed to a small sticker at the bottom of the menu stating that they reserve the right to increase the price, or something like that. I ordered a Gyro sandwich - nothing else was included and they charged almost $20. Menu said it was $17 and even that is high. Paying $20 for a Gyro is ridiculous. Gyro was good. Updating to 1 star based on owner's response. The owner is right, no employee should have to endure rude customers. I commend him for caring for his staff in that way. And just like he said, mistakes happen in any business, and what matters is how they're handled. That's the whole reason for this review. But that's not what I got. When I called about the mistake, the staff member wasn't calm or kind the way the response describes. She was defensive, told me she had nothing to do with placing the wrong order, and said I "talk confusing." There's a difference between a rude customer and a frustrated one who isn't being listened to. I was the latter. I had to send someone all the way back during a party that had already started, and instead of acknowledging that, I was made to feel like I should be grateful the mistake got fixed at all. If the owner cared the way this reply suggests, he would have called himself, or had the manager reach out. Instead the response doubles down and recasts my frustration as disrespect. It sounds like you've been around a long time, and I wish you all the best. Like I said, there are dishes here that are really good, and for some people that'll be enough. But for those who also care about the customer experience, I'd suggest eating elsewhere. read more

We've had Eddie serve us a handful of times and he is always kind and gives his tables great service but the whole staff is kind and helpful. We drive all the way from the valley to go there because it's the best around. We usually order the souvlaki chicken (butterfly cut,) the tallow fries, Greek salad, pita and tzatziki, chicken tenders and of course their home made banana pudding which is a must order! (I later found out that it is the same family, and the son took over, and made it into more of a sit down restaurant) We walked in and was greeted with the desserts in the cabinet. That's dangerous! We sat and ordered. I had the Gyros wrap lunch combo. My wife ordered the gyros plate. We also got the Calamari appetizer. That was amazing! It was very fresh. My Gyros wrap was large, stuffed full, and very tasty. My wife's plate was equally large. She asked for rice and was mistakenly given fries. She mentioned it, and immediately got a plate of rice with no discission. That's how a correction should be done. So the service was great, the food was great and we definitely enjoyed our meal. The meat and flavor was good, but it didn't work as a pizza. It needed a meltier cheese to bind everything. Every time I'd pick up a slice, the toppings would just tumble off. We've been coming to Greek House Cafe for years, and it's always consistently great. I had the vegetarian gyro and my wife had the chicken gyro. I asked for a couple of customizations to my order, and they were able to accommodate without any issues. The food is consistently good, and so is the service. Misael was especially helpful, taking the time to explain the vegetarian and vegan options, which isn't always easy to find at restaurants. This restaraunt been a staple in my family since I was a child!! The food is always so good and fresh. The vibe inside is also super nice and I always feel comfortable, not to mention the incredible service. Last time I went it was especially spectacular. My group came in around an hour before closing (bad part on us), but our server Savannah was so sweet and kind to us throughout the entire process. We asked for a million takeout containers and she was ecstatic to provide us with every single thing we asked for. Stellar performance from her, really made our experience worthwhile! Very good quality with fresh ingredients. I love that they use beef tallow to fry their French fries and other foods, it makes everything so flavorful and a much healthier option than canola oil. It's a cute little spot in Simi Valley, especially if you love Greek food. Definitely worth trying. read more
