My family and I have had their food for take out several times. My aunt ordered dinner from here last night and picked it up for all us. The rice is always excellent. I especially like their chicken. The salad was mediocre though. I have never been to the location itself, so I can't comment on it. We definitely plan to get food from here again, and if we are in the area, we may even drop by and eat here. read more

I was in the area looking for healthy food options and found this place on Yelp. After reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try--and I'm so glad I did! Mediterranean food comes in many styles and flavors, and this restaurant focuses on Persian cuisine. The marinated chicken literally melted in my mouth. I ordered it to go, but it smelled so good I couldn't resist eating it right there. The fresh bread dipped into the eggplant appetizer was absolutely to die for. On top of that, the owner/chef is incredibly kind and welcoming. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the area, and I highly recommend this spot! read more

Sorry I did not take photos I grabbed an order to go and was not in a good position to take photos. Really great service. Resturant was clean and well maintained. Food was really good and they gave me an extra salad as I had to wait a little while, which was a nice touch. read more

Such a wonderful inclusive experience! I've never had Iranian food before and this was definitely a new perspective I needed on what 'Mediterranean' includes. I loved the chicken and lamb it was all so flavorful and I'm dreaming of that salad dressing still!!! Lots of seating! Great for larger groups! I must say that they have some of the most delicious food in Simi Valley! I love the Chicken Koobideh! Although the first time I came into the restaurant, a gentleman came for behind the counter with some grilled chicken in his hand and he kind of shoved it towards my face and I said what is this? He said you don't ask, you just eat! So I grabbed the chicken out of his hand and ate it, and it was delicious! Another dish, I will try in the future. The Koobideh is seasoned just perfectly and served with rice and grilled tomato and then you get a nice large fresh salad. My running joke is when I get the food I always ask them for the salad to be in a separate bag because by the time I get to my office, it's warm when it's in there with the hot dish. I asked them for a separate bag they said this time only! They have delicious food and a good sense of humor. Highly recommended. read more

Tried Atlas on the recommendation of my sister, oh let me say I'm glad I took her advice. Incredible dishes, kabobs, lamb shank, cherry rice, everything we tried was amazing. Great service from some kind and caring people, it's family owned so they really do care. The place is nicely decorated and clean as a whistle. I was impressed. Was craving Persian food and haven't been here in forever. Decided on the filet mignon. The owner is nice and friendly. Salad was super fresh and crisp. I liked the salad dressing too. Tomatoes were ripe and and yummy. Plenty of rice, so brought the rest home. It was very warm in there today, not sure if their air was working. Rice was very good, but the Greek salad seems a bit of sad. For the cost of the entire meal, I expected a big more preparation and more veggies such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives. I give five stars when a restaurant meets criteria important to me: ease of parking nice/clean interior friendly service excellent food fair prices About the food... we shared this plate that had each kabab. We love Atlas and have been coming for years, and always order the same thing - the "family style" meal. Comes with salad, basmati rice, and a total of 8 pieces of meat (2 grilled chicken, 2 chicken koobideh, 2 filet mignon and 2 beef koobideh) on top of a large pita bread. We also order the hummus. I just had the juiciest, most mouthwatering chicken for lunch--what I like to call the "flat chicken"--and the owner knows exactly what I want every time. It's served with fragrant basmati rice and a fresh salad with their incredible homemade dressing. Eggplant with flat bread is amazing. Everything is made from scratch, and you can taste the love in every bite. My friends ordered the salmon and we also shared the family-style meal--it was a total hit! Now my friends from LA finally have a reason to visit Simi Valley more often... all thanks to this hidden gem! I believe they're close on Mondays so call ahead. Okay first and foremost, whatever their house dressing is- it's MAGICAL. It's seriously the best dressing I have ever had. Don't skip a salad here. Family owned and operated. The owner is incredibly sweet and kind. They make amazing fresh food. My family and I have been coming here since they opened and we love it. I have never had a bad meal here and even getting stuff to go is good. Very clean and tidy inside. Everyone's super welcoming and friendly. My wife, daughter, son-in-law and best friend just enjoyed a fabulous culinary sampling for lunch. The owners took great care of us and served very generous portions of the Atlas delicacies. The feast came with individual salads and tasty dressing. My family and I highly recommend Atlas for lunch or dinner, dine-in or takeout. You will not be disappointed. Wow. Im actually blown away by how bad this is. As a chef and someone who loves all food and will eat anything, I'm shocked with the reviews followed by the meal. I ordered the #11. Overpriced is an understatement. It was $23-24 and looked and tasted like a $9-10 meal. I've never in my life had beef tenderloin "filet" that's actually Gamey until now. Literally the worst filet I've ever had. The beef and chicken kabobs were decent but not great. Wife had a falafel salad. She enjoyed it but didn't love the falafel, thinking it was a bit too sweet. I actually didn't mind the falafel and I don't normally like it. Wife said the people were nice but sadly the food is way overpriced and sub par. First and last time eating here. read more

The chicken Koobideh is the best in a 20 mile radius. I have been to many Persian restaurants in the SFV/Simi/TO area and this place tops them all... a hidden gem. The owner is courteous and welcoming and treats you like family. Sides and salads have excellent quantity and quality. Fast service and attention to detail. Love this place! read more

We have been regulars at this restaurant since it opened 10 plus years ago. Their grilled meat is consistently good quality, amazing rice and land shank stew. I've brought visitors here frequently and everyone leaves happy and full. The crowd pleaser is their koobideh but I like to have at least 1 dish of their stew to share family style. Highly recommended Mediterranean/Persian restaurant! We were in the area and looked for a place to have lunch, and stopped in. We ordered koobideh, falafel, hummus, salads and their house made pickles (torshi). All the food was delicious and the falafel was so unique and amazing. The service was great! The owner is such a nice person and really left a lasting impression. He was very gracious and the service really brought the entire meal together. Our first time at Atlas (we were a party of 5 adults) and what a wonderful experience. Izzy, the owner, treated us like longtime friends. His humor and service were both excellent and contributed to a great meal. Being our first time, Izzy recommended a family style lunch that included filet mignon, chicken skewers, hummus and eggplant as side dishes, and some other wonderful items. I also had the lentil soup, which was tasty and one of the best I have ever enjoyed. A beautiful surprise was when Izzy brought out what was like a pizza, with the meats,, tomatoes and other items on top. We enjoyed both the crust around the dish, as well as the middle crust which has extra flavors from the meat. The quality of the food was outstanding. Taste, texture,, Flavors, etc. satisfied everyone at the table. Several of us also had their special hot tea, was also a treat. While the menu is not as expansive as some other Mediterranean restaurants, there is enough variety to satisfy most if not all palates. .Also, everything was fresh and made from scratch upon order. Nothing sitting around in pots or pans waiting for customers to place their order, but true freshly made food. We will definitely be back. read more

It also comes with a large piece of pita bread. The pricing is comparable to other places serving similarly healthy food. This is close to where my client works and it was a good place to have a casual meeting and get some lunch. There is indoor seating, but it is a tiny space so eating outdoors is more comfortable. There's a Boba spot next-door and Starbucks is right across the parking lot in case the meeting runs long and we need our sugar/caffeine fix!

The food was great, and although it was quiet when we arrived, it became very busy by the end of our meal. What truly stood out, though, was our waitress, Riley. She had the perfect balance that is honestly hard to find. She wasn't overly friendly or overbearing, but she also wasn't distant or robotic. She was simply genuine, attentive, calm, and incredibly thoughtful. Our table was a little chaotic at times. My mom accidentally spilled an entire glass of water all over the table, and Riley handled it with such grace and calmness that she immediately put everyone at ease. She never made us feel embarrassed or like we were inconveniencing her. Toward the end of the meal, my sister quietly snuck out because she didn't want anyone singing Happy Birthday to her, and my son went with her. Riley was so thoughtful that she packed up my son's ice cream (which we didn't even realize came with his meal) along with my sister's birthday sundae that we also didn't know was included. There was just something really special about her. Riley made us feel welcomed, cared for, and comfortable from beginning to end. We will absolutely be back, and Riley is a huge reason why.
