This food is so good, it is the standard to be compared with. The only other time I had Persian food this good, was twice. My mom's cooking and another Persian restaurant in San Jose. We've been customers of Sadaf for years ever since they first opened. Our favorite dish was the juicy chicken but tonight what they gave us was absolutely terrible. Dry chicken breast with no taste. First they ruined the kabob koobideh, then the stews lost their quality and now the tasty chicken. What an absolute shame. Won't be going back. We'd rather drive an hour to Glendale to get real tasty Persian food than drive 12 minutes to get poor quality food. Only reason for second star is their service. Loved Sadaf!!!! My Persian man said it was as if he was eating a home cooked meal :) We got the Gheimeh Bademjan and Ghormeh Sabz- both vegetarian, both delicious. Each entree comes with a generous serving of rice and tadig. It was enough for almost two meals each! We ordered pick up- the staff were very very friendly and the space was nice! Here's a We celebrated our anniversary here tonight, and everything was absolutely perfect. We started with the mushroom shrimp and mushroom mussels with lavash bread--both were incredible. The shrimp was especially delicious, even better than expected, and the mussels were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the bread. For our main course, we ordered two Beef Sultani plates (filet mignon and koobideh), and both were outstanding--very tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The restaurant itself has recently expanded, and the new space is beautiful--larger, elegant, and very well designed. I brought my client and her son here for lunch since they love persian food. We ordered khormozabzi and two chicken kabob plates along with dolma and a Shiraz salad. Unfortunately something we ate caused 2 out of 3 of us to have food poisoning. I was throwing up all night and when I told my client, she said her son experienced the same thing. I called and spoke to reza the manger and rather than saying sorry, he immediately said it's the stomach flu. I got highly offended that he was adamant his restaurant did not cause 2 out of 3 of us to get food poisoned. He was very defensive rather than apologetic. Been wanting to try this place for a while now and I'm glad I finally did. When we went, it was extremely busy, but I made reservations so we were good. Highly recommend making reservations. The place is small with some outside seating. They really pack you in here to make the most of the space. The menu is full of wonderful variety of middle Eastern food. They have a cocktail menu that's a wee bit pricy ($18) per drink. Service was okay, it was more than likely due to how busy they were so I could understand. Food was absolutely delicious and authentic. My girl got the chicken and ground beef combo meal and I just got the regular beef combo. We also ordered a small Persian salad to share. You definitely can get two meals out of the combos so it ended up being a pretty good value. One tip is to bring cash to pay. You get charged a couple extra bucks to use your card. Not thrilled about that, let's figure out a better system please. Most people don't carry cash anymore these days. This isn't my first time here, and I can say with confidence that the food is incredible! I started off with the Cardamom martini. Perfect blend of sweet with a touch of saffron. I tried the Boneless lamb with barberry rice today. It was tender, juicy, and not gamey at all. In regards to service, it's nearly non-existent. Someone took our order, another brought the food, and the last 'server' was quick to drop the check. No one asked if I wanted a second drink, no one checked in on how my meal was. I would understand if it was busy, but I was the only other party in the restaurant, and there were at least 3 servers. I deducted one star for this reason. Ambiance is great otherwise.
