I haven't had the chance to visit this spot in person yet, but I've ordered their catering for work and done pickup many times. While I can't speak to the dine in experience, I can definitely say the food is delicious. The rice with beans isn't quite as good as I've had elsewhere and isn't something I'm fully used to yet, but it's still decent. The macaroni salad is a standout, and both the chicken and steak along with the sauce are flavorful and satisfying. Those are the items I've tried so far, and I'm excited to explore more of the menu. It does have a slightly different style compared to other Hawaiian barbecue I've had, but it's still really enjoyable. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you're in the area or looking for something a little different! read more

What a friendly greeting we got! He helped us understand the menu and as vegans we were so happy to be able to get a hearty and delicious meal at a great price! We have our dog with us so we were equally happy to be able to sit out on their lovely patio with the music above our heads and the nice breeze and a view of a lot of beautiful trees. read more

Fire Island Grill - I was over halfway through this fabulous tofu bowl w/ Island rice, veggies & teriyaki sauce before I took the foto. Fantastic! - Hawaiian Near Me - Simi Valley, California

Missing Hawaiian food and this popped up as authentic Hawaiian food and it did not disappoint. I'm surprised the place was not full. Plenty of parking and lots of seating inside. The restaurant and bathroom was super clean. The staff was super friendly and helped us choose different items to try a little mix of everything. Oh I almost forgot-we tried the upside down pineapple cake and it was sooooooooo good! The pork tasted so yummy and paired really well with the mango coleslaw and the veggies which I usually don't like but the way they cut them small and the seasoning is tasty. My daughter loved her kids meal and the spamasubi and I got the 4 tacos special of the day and tried one of each taco. read more

Let me start with great food and wonderful staff. Unfortunately, we won't be going as much as they discontinued the $8 chicken bowl special. Hopefully this is temporary. It was a great deal for healthy food but with a family of 5 we can't afford it. read more

OMG this place is just the best. When I worked in Simi Valley, this was my go-to lunch place almost every day! I don't usually get out to Simi Valley often these days but did have to make a trip out there and stopped to get some lunch with my kids and revisit one of my old-time faves and it did not disappoint. I just wish there were more locations around so I can get there more often. The food is always good and seems to have stayed good since I last visited literally almost 10 years ago. Service was alright. Not too many people in the restaurant at the time but it was early afternoon so not lunch time and not dinner. Happy I was able to stop in. read more

The food was good but the service was super rude when we were ordering they seemed irritated for no reason and I got a chicken bone stuck in my teeth I'm so glad I didn't swallow it I had to take tweezers to remove the bone it was so sharp and thick read more

Had a fantastic experience at Fire Island Grill with Ami! From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Ami went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served quickly. The quality of the ingredients really stands out, and every dish was prepared exactly right. The island-inspired menu is one of the best fast-casual dining experiences in Simi Valley, with generous portions and great flavor. Thank you Ami read more

Great shrimp. Had the blackened shrimp bowl with the island rice, very good and very filing. Service was okay, no major issues. They played rock music in a midly Hawaiian flavored decor. What's not to love. Oh, and that spicy salad is also quite delicious. read more

Great place to get a rice or noodle bowl filled with your protein and veggies. I always get the pork as it's so freaking delicious. Service is fast and I usually get mine to go. Load up on the sauces, you can pick more than one and you won't be disappointed read more

Fire Island Grill - Pork Bowl - Hawaiian Near Me - Simi Valley, California

I've been here with my family a couple of times now. I love their bowls, made fresh! I usually go with their blackened shrimp, island rice, veggies and peanut sauce! They have different options such as chicken, pork or beef. You can also chose to add veggies and sauce of your choice. My hubby went with their beef bowl today, he loved it. I like that they have smaller bowls for kids, because my kids don't eat so much so their kids bowl is a great portion for them. For the drinks they have fountain drinks or some bottles options as well. The service is always great! Really friendly and attentive. My hubby couldn't decide on what sauce he wanted, so the lady helping us have him a little bit of all the sauces! I thought that was nice. The restaurant itself is clean, bright with some artwork and some tables. Fire Island is always a great idea! read more

Solid place for something fast but not greasy. Good quality steak and chicken. The Mac salad is legit too. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Definitely worth a repeat! read more

This place is top! Service is always fast, and the place is always family welcoming. Food is bomb! Calm and not so noisy place.

What a bummer! Used to love this place. The amount of protein we got on our salads was sad. I'm talking like 6-7 small pieces of chicken on both mine and my wife's. Salad was composed of mainly lettuce and croutons. Definitely not the same salad we used to love. read more

I wish I took a picture of my food! It was delicious! I got the shrimp and steak plate with white rice and spicy pineapple flavor. It was good! My fiancé got the same thing except his was chicken and got Thai peanut! The sauce was amazing! Service was great and it brought me back to Hawaii listening to the music there. Can't wait to go back. read more

Good food and very friendly service. Hubby ordered combo plate of chicken and teriyaki steak. I highly recommend the pulled pork with pineapple burger. Friends each had a bowl. All were happy campers! The veggies are good although they have a smoked flavor that was different . I would prefer without the smoked flavor but they were cooked to perfection. read more

We got 2 chicken bowls and a kids meal with shrimp and wow this place is so good. The chicken has a great char flavor and the island rice is both delicious and fluffy. Great options for a family to dine here. Definitely come here if you have a hankering for Hawaiian food. Service: friendly service. This was our first time here and the staff was patient and helped us decide. The also brought our food out to our table pretty quickly. Venue: very clean and decorative restaurant. It has a nice and chill vibe you'd get if you were in Hawaii. Nothing fancy or upscale here. Good for a family with kids. Food/drinks: I enjoyed my steak sandwich. The meat was tender and juicy. My wife liked her pork and chicken plate with the noodles. I was a big fan of her Mac salad. My kids both liked the kids teriyaki chicken bowl. It was a good amount for my 6 year old, but small for a 10 year old. This is a great place to have a fast casual, but high quality meal. We will recommend to anyone that appreciates Hawaiian flavors and casual dining environments. read more

Ordered the chicken bowl with Island rice and peanut sauce. It was the bomb, for my taste. Loved the freshness ( i was there when they opened in the morning), the taste was delicious and freshly made and a little spicy with the peanut sauce. Talked to the owner for awhile and learned there are 3 locations. He was pleasant as well as the staff and efficient. Will definitely go back, maybe even order delivery next time read more

It's ... ok. The chicken bowl is my only reference. It comes with rice, noodles or half and half - which I opted for.

Service and food were top notch! Employees really know how to do customer service. Friendly and helpful!

Alright Alright from all the raving reviews it seems like I'm the outlier but honestly after hearing such good things about this place I wasn't too impressed. I ordered 2 of the steak and shrimp platters. One lava flow peanut with noodles and the other fire island teriyaki with island rice. The lava flow peanut really lacked flavor and was underwhelming, it didn't really add anything to the dish. The noodles were sub par and not flavored. The fire island teriyaki was definitely the better flavor. I did enjoy the hints of coconut and mixed beans of the island rice. Both platters had good steak and great shrimp. I would say my favorite part of this meal was their delicious mac salad. Grilling the sauteed vegetables was a nice touch but otherwise, it was a little too watery for my taste. Overall almost $20 for a platter doesn't seem worth it to me and while I love Hawaiian cuisine, there are others that also do it well. read more

This is one of my favorite places for lunch! My coworkers and I come about once a week and I've even caught myself here a few times a week if I'm being honest. You are greeted immediately with a warm hawaiian aloha when walking in. The inside is full of island vibes and staff is always friendly. I found out today they even know me by name! Super attentive and sweet emoloyees. It reallt is a clean and inviting place. I am a creature of habit and always get the blazing chicken ceaser salad and it is so good! Portion is plentiful and smothered in just the right amount of both ceaser dressing and teriyaki sauce for that perfect tang. I have tried their chicken bowl with veggies as well and it is good but I just love that salad. Served with two pieces of pita bread you can't go wrong. Food always looks and tastes fresh. I honestly have never had a bad experience here and will recommend to friends and family. Even when they are busy it doesnt take long to receive your food. Pro Tip: They have a weekly specials menu and Thursday is my day for the Ceaser salad which comes with a free drink. read more

Should've paid better attention to the menu before I drove out. Not what I was expecting. But I decided to order either way even though I wasn't really sold on their menu. Food was just ok, my chicken was a bit dry with mild seasoning, Mac salad was decent. For the price, it was not worth it ($19) would've been over $20 with a drink for a plate that should be closer to $12. The icing on the top was they ask for a tip at the end and it's counter service. Tried it and at least now I know to not go back. read more

Loved this island-style grill! Great variety of food, relaxed atmosphere, and amazing value -- you can easily get full for about $15. The shrimp in sauce were unbelievably delicious. Everything felt casual and welcoming. Highly recommend! read more

The food at fire island is always delicious and fresh! The chicken and pork bowls are amazing and the pineapple retaking sauce is so yummy! The bowls come with meat, chopped veggies and choice of rice. The size of the dish and the price is appropriate for dinner. The restaurant is always clean and there are enough workers so the (usually short) line moves quickly. On the weekends kids eat free with an adult meal and this is very appreciated and will keep us coming back! This location has ample parking and is easy in and out. This is a good place for even picky eaters! read more

Ordered online with my wife as we just got back from the gym and wanted a quick bite before going to the pool. Safe to say we are very disappointed with the quality of our meal. First of all, our orders were swapped in terms of which sauces went on which bowl. My wife wanted spicy pineapple teriyaki sauce and didn't receive it on hers. (My bowl had noodles so that's how we could differentiate which bowls were which and her's only had rice FYI) We asked for extra sauce and they DOUSED our bowls in sauce to the point where it is entirely inedible. Our rice bowls essentially turned to soup. Meat tasted good but we gave up eating it as the rest of the bowl was too saucy. Not a good experience read more

We used to go at least once per week but the quality has gone way down. We have been twice in the past month and both times the vegetables tasted like they had bleach and chemicals on them. This last time was so bad even the meat had that taste. We had to throw out the food. The pork sandwich tasted like fish!! The only thing decent was the Mac salad. Will not be going back. Very expensive just to throw out the entire order. read more

I decided to give this place a try today for my lunch since it's near my work office. I looked on their website to see their options and decided to go with the Chicken bowl. I placed my order online through their website, I got the chicken bowl with island noodles and selected the spicy pineapple teriyaki sauce. It said my order would be ready 15 minutes after they officially open. I arrived to the place early just so I can look around. I been to the plaza this place is in before so I was already familiar with it. I found parking just fine with no issues. When I walked inside, a worker greeted me and I told him I placed my order online. He said there usually an issue with online order through their website so it doesn't put in the order properly, so he had to look it up and found my order to work on it right away. The place is a decent size inside and they have outdoor seating as well. It took the worker like 5 minutes to get my order ready and I went back to eat it at the office. The portion they give here is pretty decent, I got a good size of chicken and noodles. I thought the spicy pineapple teriyaki sauce was good to add to the food and I enjoyed it. I would come back again and try something else. read more
