Horrible Food! 6/26/26 at 5am, I purposefully have avoided going to any and all Denny's for a number of years because the food has been awful at all locations. I and my son had just spent 6 hours at an ER and we were very hungry and tired and unfortunately the only place open at 5am was Denny's in Simi Valley at 5am. So I called in for a to go order and picked it up to take home! First I specifically asked for no bell peppers in my omelet and yet there were bell peppers in it and the potatoes looked and tasted like they were days old and were inedible. I have been to a lot of Denny's and this one was by far the most clean and had the best food. The host Noemi (spelling?) was super nice and led us to our table with a smile. Then our serves Moses certainly parted the red seas for an incredible breakfast experience. I don't live close to the area but would definitely come back and recommend the Fit Fare Slam . So first off Im not here to be rude. Just when we got here it was only my mom and I. We got put in the children's room. It was in the back where they had a little corner. We didn't think much really but we sit down and we had another mother and kids come in to sit and she was already flustered with how her kids were running around and screaming at each other. Then she was telling them how she's in a rush to get some food and we just was laughing because it's like come on why do u go to a sit down restaurant and make the waitress stress now with you and your kids. Anyway love kids but we are looking through the menu and nothing seems to catch our eyes... Literally the only bread is not even sourdough. Just white toast. So the waitress came back and we were still figuring out what to get but nothing seems great .. and the place got too expensive so I was surprised kinda because one I would love Denny's only when it's 2 am in the morning drunk . Like drunk me would be confused with this menu too... Not worth the time sorry. And again if anyone gets put in the babies area please know I do think it makes sense if your a family...but we were only two people . You can never go wrong on Dennys, distinctly and uniquely American, inside and out. Breakfast combos are always the best deals, pancake and sausage, eggs and bacon. Arabica coffee at its best and a smiling and happy server is always around to serve you their best foods. Their slice of steak is not the best but more than enough to satisfy your cravings for supper or lunch. Parking is abundant, neighborhood is safe, and pricing is moderate to average. It so easy to go here . Food is always good . If you sit in the center booths they don't have any air ducts over them so it's more comfortable . The Slams getting creative but i do remember the days of the 1.99 grand slam breakfast served 24/7. Ugh!! So Simi Valley has disappointed me from the hotels to now Dennys. I had a simple order to be delivered to my hotel, in town from San Diego. Our food was literally down the street. The order was thrown in the bag and boxes. 1 Grand Slam looked like a kids plate. I did not receive my fruit, nor my orange juice or bottled water. The cinnamon pancake puppies where just puppies. 5 of them. We recieved 2 sryups, for the pancakes. I asked for 4. I was so disappointed. I called and the young lady was nice offering her apologies for the mistakes and to refund me for the water and juice. The food was not even warm, and the restaurant is down the street. read more

Denny's is almost always a safe bet when you need to feed a small group in a hurry. The food is safe, the service is acceptable, and the joint is clean enough for the most part. On 6/5/25 Maria M was our server. It was super busy with graduation breakfasts in the restaurant. Maria provided amazing service to me and my daughter and went above and beyond in taking care of us, even when a computer glitch erased all orders when it came time to pay. There was a Denny's in Simi Valley for many years, and then there wasn't one for some period of time. Then they built a new one on the other side of town from where we live. Dear Hubby stopped by there while running errands to pick me up a BLT. Since I don't eat dairy (oh how I miss real cheese!) any longer, BLT sandwiches are one of the things I can half that aren't inherently lacking from not having cheese. Well, his first statement as he hands me the bag with my sandwich and fries is, "That's the last time I'm ordering you a BLT (From here, or anywhere? It's been a touch search for a good local option!). He tells me to look at the bill. $19.83 with tip. For a BLT??!! Unbelievable. Turns out, that as "America's Diner" they don't have BLT's on their menu. They didn't tell my husband this, and instead ginned one up off their Super Bird. The Super Bird has turkey, cheese, and bacon on sourdough. So they leave off the turkey (didn't ask him if that was desired), leave off the cheese as he requested, leave off mayo, even though he asked for it, AND charge $2.10 extra for the bacon. They did tell him their would be a charge for extra bacon, but didn't take into account that he wasn't receiving turkey or cheese. I'd say that they came out on the better end of that financial transaction. Although, they've likely lost us as customers until a long time passes and we forget how they cheated on the bill. Pennywise and pound foolish, as they say. Our last experience at a Denny's was almost a year ago in Camarillo and that wasn't great shakes, either. I'm thinking that the chain may be going downhill and into a permanent decline from which there might not be a recovery. The fries that came with the sandwich were very good; the best thing in the container. On the BLT, without the mayo, the total flavor package was lacking. Mayo and tomatoes - mmm normally, right? The bacon (for which we paid extra) was much saltier than it should have been. The lettuce was floppy - not old, but just lacking in body and crispness. The tomato had very little flavor of its own. One small positive note - the French's ketchup packets provided with the to-go sandwich do not have high fructose corn syrup. That's a plus! They do contain a small amount of regular sugar, but that seems to be preferable to HFCS in so many other fast food condiments. Definitely not worth the price paid. I'm quite disappointed, actually. I get that there's a delicate balance these days between restaurants being able to pay enough to get/retain help, and the prices they have to charge. For consumers, though, the cost of eating out seems to be skyrocketing, and the quality / satisfaction / overall experience is often not measuring up with what we're expected to pay come time to settle up.
