When I asked if animals were allowed, I was told they were not, but that this dog was a service animal. I understand and respect the need for legitimate service animals; however, this particular situation made me uncomfortable, as the dog was sitting in a stroller and did not appear to be actively assisting anyone. Knowing that animals may be allowed around the food area makes me uneasy, and unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable eating at this restaurant anymore.

What makes Neighbor's so perfect is that two friends arrived first, and despite being just a group of two, they were able to snag a table for 8. As other friends showed up over the next hour, we just kept adding to our table. And our server was wonderful! He greeted each new person/couple and quickly took their order. At one point, the poor guy had 4 different orders put in on 5 separate checks. But everything was delivered promptly and to the right person, despite us constantly shuffling around the table and changing spots with each new arrival. I just love the casual and laid back vibe at Neighbor's! The food is also delicious and fair priced, and my draft beer was icy cold and only 5 bucks.

The bartender was cleaning up so we checked if it'd be alright if we sat down for a couple of beers and she was more than happy to serve us. There was plenty of street parking as well. They have a decent selection of beers on tap (about 10-12 if I recall correctly) and I tried a couple of their IPAs, which were both great. The kitchen was unfortunately closed so I can't comment about the food, but this seems like a great place to hang out at the bar and grab a couple of beers if you happen to be in town.

We sent it back, and instead of just offering to remake it, the server came back to tell us the chef tasted it and said it was "fine". Why argue with the customer? Just remake the dish. What really bothered me was the inconsistency. The two customers seated next to us (who happened to be white) complained about something and the manager personally came over to apologize. We complained and got nothing -- no apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. It was hard not to notice the difference in how we were treated. Won't be coming back, and I'd encourage anyone reading this to think twice before going.
