Sunday Breakfast Brunch on Mother's Day 2017
Christina F.

Our recent and past visits have been pleasant. Patient and knowledgeable at the counter, plus kind and attentive table service. Each person in our party normally adds on, or orders, the AYCE salad bar. Definitely need to return again for their AYCE-Sunday-brunch-breakfast. Relaxed and casual style restaurant with a diner feel.

I have come here maybe 4 times in my 13 years of living in Fresno. My parents wanted to come here for lunch after they went to church. Well, everyone else had this same idea. It was a very busy time for us to come in. The line moved quickly. My parents, my sister and my self all got the unlimited salad bar. I was craving their taco or nacho station but when I saw the state of their ground beef and the "nacho" cheese, I changed my mind. The ground beef looked dried up and flaky and the nacho cheese had solidified into a thick corn chowder looking thing. I ended up making a salad with the pulled pork and topped it with my favorite taco salad toppings. It's not secret that most guests get the salad bar. The staff was doing their best to keep things stocked but the pozole soup was low the entire first 20 minutes of our visit. The dessert bar was brownies, "bread pudding" which was not a bread pudding but instead it was some kind of yelllow cake mixture with what looked like oreo cookies crumbled. They also had vanilla pudding with vanilla wafers topped on it. Then of course the soft serve. I just wanted a brownie after seeing them while making my salad. When I went 30 min later. There were no more. I don't think my meal was worth $20. One small salad plate, a soda and half of a brownie that my dad had. Maybe Sundays are truly a terrible day to come here.

It's been at least fifteen years since I went to a Sizzler. I heard it was remodeled and decided to give it a go for lunch. I just got the salad bar and was fairly pleased. The cold salad bar was pretty decent. It was clean, well stocked, and everything seemed fresh. There was enough variety to make a pretty satisfying salad. Regarding the hot items, there were soups. The clam chowder and chicken noodle were pretty good. Spaghetti and meatballs was decent. The taco and nacho bar was respectable, except for the chicken that looked really dry. There were some fried items, too. They weren't really that good. I pulled some batter off of a chicken wing and found no meat underneath. There was an ice cream bar, of which I did not partake. The price was right. Overall, I'd say I'd go back for a quick, no-nonsense lunch.

Can't beat the salad bar! The options are endless and they literally have anything and everything you could ever want. Taco bar, ice cream sundaes... you name it, they have it!!!

Impressive variety of greens!

Yay Sizzler!!! Now that's how you renovate, improve, move with the times, and elevate a buffet experience...especially for a decades old restaurant! Visited this Sizzler with the family for lunch and we were so incredibly pleased...all of us! The new renovated interior, variety & presentation on the salad bar, and freshness & flavors were shockingly quite lovely. I literally have visited this particular location since I was kid. Now, with children of my own, I am so happy to enjoy the same experiences with them! Fresh cheese bread was brought out to our table, and all the servers were very sweet. Though you do get your own soft drinks & food at the salad bar, the workers are still around to support & smile! The kid's plates & utensils were so freakin' cute, I wish I had them! The food variety for kids & people of all ages was really awesome! The crisp greens, prepared salads, fruits...all fully stocked! The dessert choices were great as well. There are lots of additional entrees to be ordered separately if you wish, and that was our plan to do both that and the salad bar...however the salad bar was so pleasing to the eye- we landed there & just kept going up for more of the quality, fresh delishishness! Can you tell how happy I am with my experience? Now some tips/info: depending on when you go, you may need to wait in a brief to moderately long line to order, then you are seated. There are hot items on the salad bar such as soup, taco bar area, spaghetti, chicken, mini corn dogs, potatoes & more- so you if you order a separate entrée, you may need to take it home after your pre-meal extravaganza...been there! Even if you get just the salad bar, be sure to leave a tip for the servers, they are working hard keeping you happy along the way. There are tables and booths available, and plenty along window areas...I prefer being seated closer to the buffet area in a booth- comfort and proximity to oodles of choices! I'm so glad I still get to enjoy this Sizzler location...from a kid, to a teen, to now an adult & mom- I am one happy customer, and you better believe I will be returning soon! Thanks Sizzler!

12/08/23 Two 8oz Sirloins ordered medium rare, 2 baked potatoes with the works, veggie medley & shrimp skewers ordered & paid for online. I went in to get it. It was busy! I went to the front of the line and a nice worker greeted and I let him know about the to-go order. He went to check on it and other was almost ready. Right on time! Worker handed it over a couple minutes later. Smells delicious! Lunchtime! Bacon bits was ordered, but not included in the order. =( Sirloin with the mushrooms was really great! Tender & Delicious! Great, size too! Veggie medley was fresh & tasty! Baked potato was really good! Chives & cheese made it better. Bacon bits wouldn't made it Great! Shrimp skewer was no good! Definitely overcooked. It came with Texas toast and that was tasty! Mother said hers was good! She felt the same about all. Lots of leftovers! All in all, it was a pretty good lunch! Sirloin with mushrooms won! Good service & lunch! Recommended!

The Annex checked every single box. First, let's talk about Sammie. If every restaurant had a Sammie, Yelp would probably have fewer 3-star reviews. She welcomed us like we were regulars, knew the menu inside and out, and steered us toward the Tagliatelle with the confidence of someone who knew we'd be thanking her later. She wasn't pushy, rehearsed, or robotic, just genuinely excited about the food. Those kinds of servers are rare. Honestly, Sammie is the fifth star on this review. Now the food. The Tagliatelle absolutely lived up to the hype. Rich without being heavy, flavorful without trying too hard, and balanced in a way that's surprisingly hard to pull off. Every ingredient had a purpose. After one bite, we completely understood why Sammie recommended it. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly. Great crust, tender inside, packed with flavor... and somehow the potatoes nearly stole the show. I know, they're potatoes. But whatever magic happened in that kitchen deserves some recognition because they were ridiculously crispy, perfectly seasoned, and impossible to stop eating. The burrata with stone fruit was another standout. Creamy burrata, sweet fruit, salty prosciutto, fresh mint, and toasted bread all came together into one of those bites that makes everyone at the table suddenly stop talking for a second. And then there was the mixed mushroom pizza. Some of the best mushrooms I've had outside of a music festival... kidding. Mostly. Seriously though, the mushrooms were incredible, and the pizza had that perfect balance of earthy, cheesy, crispy, and chewy that keeps you reaching for "just one more slice" until the plate is mysteriously empty. By the end of dinner we were completely full... and I was still looking at the menu trying to justify ordering something else. That's usually the biggest compliment I can give a restaurant. We'll absolutely be back. For the food, for the atmosphere, and hopefully for another table in Sammie's section. Whoever hired her made a great decision. Whoever decides raises should probably have a conversation with her too.

Right from the start, they brought out these warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven dinner rolls that were absolutely to die for. I did noticed on the menu, it mentioned these rolls were from Max's Bistro & Bar from Fresno. For the main course, the Harrah Ranch steaks were incredibly flavorful and juicy, The T-Bone steak we ordered was cooked exactly to our liking. Even the side salad stood out because the lettuce was so crisp. To top it all off, the service was fantastic from the second you walk in. We loved our server because she was very attentive, She made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. We will definitely be back!

I love Heirloom. This place is definitely the gem of Fresno! It's not a fancy, high-end restaurant,…read morebut they absolutely know how to plate and make food that keeps their customer come back for more. Their dishes have their own unique twist, and while they may not always follow the traditional recipe, everything is incredibly flavorful and statisfying. The flavors are simple, approachable, and easy to enjoy. Making it a spot that almost everyone would love. They mainly focus on the new American table. A little fusion of some other ethnicity food here. They mainly focus on their limited menu and always wing it everytime. The consistency is always on point. I love their fresh farm to table ingredients. Their plate is super affordable and beautiful. AMBIANCE :: This place is always pack. The line are always long but it does move up pretty quick too. Indoor is always pack and stuff. They do have a large patio too. I wouldn't really recommend sitting out in the patio during the hottest time of the day but it's not that bad too. They do have mist and coolers outside. Artificial leaves covering up the place cools it down a lot too. The PROS for dinning in the patio is the fresh air. SERVICE : Is great. With the high volume of guest and crowed it is. They are so patient and friendly. RATE : 5/5 PLATES :: If you're undecided and wanted a little bit of everything. I recommend choosing a plate. You get a little bit of everything. Ill say everything taste generic but so good too. WOOD GRILLED PROTEIN : SHRIMP W/ GARLIC BUTTER : Their garlic butter shrimp is so buttery. It's slightly seasoned and salted. RATE : 5/5 WOOD GRILLED PROTEIN : SALMON W/ TZATZIKI SAUCE : I love their soft salmon with a lightly crispy crust. Llightly seasoned. It's not fishy and gamey at all. I love their tzatziki sauce and it paired so well with the lemon juice too. RATE : 5/5 WOOD GRILLED PROTEIN : ANCHO CRUSTED PRIME TRI TIP : Nicely seasoned and salted. It's always come out medium rare, tender and juicy. RATE : 5/5 NOTE :If you like medium rare pieces of beef. Go for their tri tip. If you wanted more cook go for their ribeye. The cons about their ribeye is that they are not consistent. You can ask to be remade but it does take them awhile to cook it too. SIDES : TEPPANYAKI FRIED RICE W/ BACON : I love their bacon teppanyaki rice. It's probably a must have everytime you go there. I love their sweet sauce on top of the rice. It's a kids favorite choice too. The sodium level is perfect. Usually bacon would overly salted it but this fried rice is perfect. RATE : 5/5 SIDES : RIGATONI W/ SAUSAGE, PECORINO : Straight up generic boiled pasta with sour tomato sauce and sausage. It's so simple but its ok. I'll say this could be kids top 2nd favorite side dish. RATE : 4/5 FOUNTAIN DRINKS :: I love their unique fountain drinks. It's mainly focus on Mexican fountain drinks. OVERALL :: Sometimes the best food isnt about being authentic. It's about being delicious, the art, and this restaurant definetly delivers. I can already see myself coming back for more!

Some high end places get a little skimpy, especially with the sides. Not here! This time around, I ordered the Prime Rib, got the whipped potatoes and substituted the Brussels sprouts. Both were generous portions. Also love the added touch that they'll give you fresh horseradish to go along with the horseradish cream for a little extra kick. My wife had the Ribeye, which we've both ordered before, and it's delicious. She ordered the cashew green beans, but they were very saucy and some were burnt. When brought up to the server, she said she would have the kitchen make her a fresh ordered without hesitation. Within a few minutes, a nice sized portion of fresh Cashew Green Beans arrived! The Wedge Salad is also delicious and generously portioned. It could actually be a meal for someone, if so inclined. The atmosphere is also very welcoming and private. We've sat inside and on the patio, and actually preferred the patio seating! I can't say enough about the hospitality of the staff though. There's a gentleman who is either the lead host or a manager, that's been there both times. He takes a personal interest in the customers and makes sure to visit each table, which you don't often see. As we were walking out, he was also walking out behind us. Anyways, with regards to the food, my partner and I got some spicy baked mussels to share, with a ribeye steak and lamb chops for entrees. The mussels were pretty underwhelming - I felt that it was just spicy for the sake of being spicy and didn't offer much in terms of flavor. With the entrees, we asked for the lamb chops to be cooked medium but they came rare, whereas the steak did come in medium rare as ordered. The lamb chops were okay but the steak was extremely salty and a bit too charred; I had to wash down my bites with water. With both entrees we were given a choice of either rice pilaf or garlic baked potatoes. The rice pilaf legit tasted like elementary school lunch rice (the ones with the teriyaki meat patties if you recall the 2000s, iykyk). The potatoes were alright, not bad but not great. Also wanted to note that both dishes came with like 2-3 tiny cherry tomatoes which is barely anything and would last you at most a couple of bites. Last thing I wanted to note is pricing. The lamb chops were in the upper $30s and the steak was $59, which pretty overpriced imo for whay is presented. Of course, that's also on me for trying to go for a "16 oz" steak (which I kinda doubt it was) vs. their pastas or other popular dishes but I think it's worth pointing out. All in all, I really think you can get much better bang for your buck at other semi-fancy/fancy places such as LimeLite or Willow Osteria to name a couple of examples. I would give this a 1 but the service was admittedly quite solid. Sadly, I don't think we'll come back.
