The food at Sizzler's in Fresno is absolutely tasteless, artificial, and not healthy to eat. Very poor quality food at the soup, salad, and hot food station! Sizzler's food quality appears to have unhealthy chemicals and flavoring which makes it one of the worst restaurants in Fresno. Only 1 server and 1 busboy for the entire restaurant. I had to wait a long time to receive a second plate. Finally, I got frustrated and approached another employee to bring me another plate for the salad and soup bar. The men's restroom had no soap at all to wash my hands. I had to ask several employees for soap. Finally, one employee went to the women's restroom and removed the soap container from the women's restroom and placed it in men's restroom. I recommend that this restaurant shut down until they start serving real authentic and healthy food rather than fake, synthetic, and unhealthy food! The only positive note I can share is that the interior design and ambiance of Sizzler's Restaurant is quite attractive. read more

Came for lunch with the family. This place sure has changed from the time I was a kiddo. I prefer the shrimp and steak with add on buffet but this time in opted for the mini shrimp meal with lime rice. The salad bar was slim when it came to hot food but the veggies and fruits were abundant. There was a corn fried ball thing that looked crazy. My husband liked it but I didn't. To each their own. We are at a buffet. The fruit was fresh and the shrimp was ok. Not very hot temp wise but I was starving since I skipped breakfast. The after church crowd came in and we were overwhelmed with music. Nostalgia dating back to the 80s for me and despite there only being one Sizzlers in Fresno (horribly disappointed when the Clovis location was closed long ago), the family still on rare occasions swing by here Sundays for lunch. Whenever we do return, subtle changes come about in terms of the decor. In general, I'm just happy the menu items don't change too drastically. I've been a steak and all you can eat shrimp guy for the longest time. Our most recent service was a bit spotty but it was due to the massive amount of people arriving at the same time (30 min after we did.) The one knock on this location is I'd hope they would have more staff to cover both sides of the establishment. Not a knock on those that served everyone. They were great! Just my personal observation - there definitely needs more staff to cover the entire establishment during peak hours. Food was great and consistent throughout the decades, the salad bar probably needs a little more variety of selection, but the overall price point and actually catering toward seniors is a HUGE Beyond belief selling point for patrons which I hope does not change. I have come here maybe 4 times in my 13 years of living in Fresno. My parents wanted to come here for lunch after they went to church. Well, everyone else had this same idea. It was a very busy time for us to come in. The line moved quickly. My parents, my sister and my self all got the unlimited salad bar. I was craving their taco or nacho station but when I saw the state of their ground beef and the "nacho" cheese, I changed my mind. The ground beef looked dried up and flaky and the nacho cheese had solidified into a thick corn chowder looking thing. I ended up making a salad with the pulled pork and topped it with my favorite taco salad toppings. It's not secret that most guests get the salad bar. The staff was doing their best to keep things stocked but the pozole soup was low the entire first 20 minutes of our visit. The dessert bar was brownies, "bread pudding" which was not a bread pudding but instead it was some kind of yelllow cake mixture with what looked like oreo cookies crumbled. They also had vanilla pudding with vanilla wafers topped on it. Then of course the soft serve. I just wanted a brownie after seeing them while making my salad. When I went 30 min later. There were no more. I don't think my meal was worth $20. One small salad plate, a soda and half of a brownie that my dad had. Maybe Sundays are truly a terrible day to come here. read more

The salad bar selection has been greatly reduced from what it was not too long ago. While we were eating, they started cleaning and putting food away - the restaurant was still going to be open for another 1 1/2 hours. We had to request they bring the dessert back out and waited 15 minutes for our waitress to go make a platter of brownies to set out. Highly disappointed to spend over $100 for 3 people to eat and have such a horrible experience. To top it off, staff treated us like we were bothering them to be there. It's a fairly big space, the salad bar was pretty good and I don't think any place offers a self-serve salad bar that's bigger... There's a nice mix of salads, toppings, veggies, and dressings. The soups are marginal. I never touch dessert, especially when it's low LOW level stuff like here... The trio combo consisted of shrimp, steak, and that terrible hockey puck of Malibu chicken. The idea was much better than the reality... The steak is small and not the best quality. Four or five shrimp came with the plate, but were overcooked... I thought the potato was wonderful. Meal for one was $32. The service was fine But the girl serving my table never introduced herself or checked on me. That's not a great face forward if you're depending upon good tips! It's been at least fifteen years since I went to a Sizzler. I heard it was remodeled and decided to give it a go for lunch. I just got the salad bar and was fairly pleased. The cold salad bar was pretty decent. It was clean, well stocked, and everything seemed fresh. There was enough variety to make a pretty satisfying salad. Regarding the hot items, there were soups. The clam chowder and chicken noodle were pretty good. Spaghetti and meatballs was decent. The taco and nacho bar was respectable, except for the chicken that looked really dry. There were some fried items, too. They weren't really that good. I pulled some batter off of a chicken wing and found no meat underneath. There was an ice cream bar, of which I did not partake. Yay Sizzler!!! Now that's how you renovate, improve, move with the times, and elevate a buffet experience...especially for a decades old restaurant! Visited this Sizzler with the family for lunch and we were so incredibly pleased...all of us! The new renovated interior, variety & presentation on the salad bar, and freshness & flavors were shockingly quite lovely. I literally have visited this particular location since I was kid. Now, with children of my own, I am so happy to enjoy the same experiences with them! Fresh cheese bread was brought out to our table, and all the servers were very sweet. Though you do get your own soft drinks & food at the salad bar, the workers are still around to support & smile! The kid's plates & utensils were so freakin' cute, I wish I had them! The food variety for kids & people of all ages was really awesome! The crisp greens, prepared salads, fruits...all fully stocked! The dessert choices were great as well. There are lots of additional entrees to be ordered separately if you wish, and that was our plan to do both that and the salad bar...however the salad bar was so pleasing to the eye- we landed there & just kept going up for more of the quality, fresh delishishness! Can you tell how happy I am with my experience? Now some tips/info: depending on when you go, you may need to wait in a brief to moderately long line to order, then you are seated. There are hot items on the salad bar such as soup, taco bar area, spaghetti, chicken, mini corn dogs, potatoes & more- so you if you order a separate entrée, you may need to take it home after your pre-meal extravaganza...been there! Even if you get just the salad bar, be sure to leave a tip for the servers, they are working hard keeping you happy along the way. 12/08/23 Two 8oz Sirloins ordered medium rare, 2 baked potatoes with the works, veggie medley & shrimp skewers ordered & paid for online. I went in to get it. It was busy! I went to the front of the line and a nice worker greeted and I let him know about the to-go order. He went to check on it and other was almost ready. Right on time! Worker handed it over a couple minutes later. Smells delicious! Lunchtime! Bacon bits was ordered, but not included in the order. =( Sirloin with the mushrooms was really great! Tender & Delicious! Great, size too! Veggie medley was fresh & tasty! Baked potato was really good! Chives & cheese made it better. Bacon bits wouldn't made it Great! Shrimp skewer was no good! Definitely overcooked. I remember in the 90's when Sizzler was poppin. I show up with my moms to meet her friend on a random Thursday night. We walk in and the smell of Cheese bread hits you. They just rolled out the kids buffet. Tonight is gona be alright! They have fried not microwaved Dino nuggets, Mac n cheese. They have goldfish crackers. They have jell-o. Flash forward to today: Sizzler is almost fizzling. I'm so sorry to say. The kids buffet is gone. Their food is reminiscent of a seniors center cafeteria. I literally put some strange meat on my salad. It's right between the spaghetti noodles and the taco shells. What is it? Taco meat? Spaghetti meat? Apparently it was spaghetti meat. I thought I was making a taco salad. Threw off the whole vibe of my salad. Anyway the staff was okay. Some ppl were nice and some were passive aggressive. I still tip tho. One of our favorites for buffet salad bar since the tomato place didnt survive covid. Lots of variety of fresh veggies that are restocked often. Several special salads with broccoli madness and tuna salad my favorites. Hot sides are tasty and a good selection includes mini corn dogs, steak fries, meat balls, pasta, taco bar (thought the pulled pork and guac end up on my salad). There is more but I haven't tried it all. Three soups rotate. I jazz them up with onions and cheese from the taco bar. Dessert bar has its moments, but there is strange stuff like their cheesecake pudding stuff. Sometimes it's good but other times its better passed up. We rarely drink soda, but when ice cream is available like here, end up with either rootbeer or orangesicle slushys (a little more ice cream than a float then stirred all together, yum!). They get busy and only seem to have two servers max anytime we've been so dishes don't get cleared sometimes. Busstaff are usually hustling to clear empty tables though. First time eating at sizzler as an adult. In town visiting family for the holidays and we decided to try Sizzler since we were in the mood for steak. First, the menu options are a little tricky to settle on, but that's not anyone who works here's fault. Chris took our orders and the dude was absolutely awesome. Helped explain things and made it much easier to understand the menu and quickly get our orders in. Even gave some recommendations that we went with. Food was great. Steak was tender and juicy and the shrimp were crispy and tasty. I didn't get the salad bar, but all options looked good as well. Our waiter came quickly and brought out our food as soon as it was done. Not sure what I expected, but Sizzler gained a new fan today. 3 kids and 3 adults and we were out the door at under $150. This place has gone down hill ever since covid.. The poor servers are short staffed. It takes so long for anything, even the check. The buffet doesn't have any good items as it used too, especially the chicken wings and onion rings, but you can get them when you order but not for the buffet as they used to. The baked potatoes are never fresh so I'd always order fries instead. To top it off, on Veteran's Day they said it was closed and under construction. It's funny how it was finished the next day. I've seen Denny's and other restaurants do this to avoid feeding our Vets for Veteran's Day just to save money, and now they're doing it. I've never heard of closing the entire restaurant for one day of remodeling. I will be sending this review to corporate. read more

It's been a long, long time since I've been to Sizzler. Truth be told, I've been avoiding those salad bar types of restaurants since the pandemic. I also have some randomly fond memories of Sizzler from my childhood so I've been weary of going to Sizzler and tarnishing those memories. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised. I went with my family on a Saturday evening and was mentally prepared for a crowded restaurant. I honestly didn't want to go but my mom suggested it, so off we went. It was not crowded, at all. That was the first surprise. I ordered the classic trio, steak and shrimp and chicken Malibu, along with the salad bar. The steak was tender and well flavored, the chicken was savory and not dry like I was expecting, and the shrimp were a good size. All thumbs up. The salad bar was good and I got the imitation crab salad that I had always enjoyed and it lived up to my expectations. Surprise, surprise. My children begrudgingly got the salad bar. Their hesitation was because they were having "salad" for dinner. There was not a leafy green to be found on their plates. They stuffed themselves with spaghetti, Mac n cheese, mini corn dogs, and chicken nuggets topping it all off with some soft serve ice cream. They ate more than they ever have and despite the food coma they were hoping to return the next day. I must say, Sizzlers exceeded my expectations and we will definitely return. The wait staff was attentive and polite. They even have a breakfast option which my kids are looking forward too. Really, the only drawbacks were that they didn't have the jello that I remembered and that my kids were looking forward too and the tiny strawberry shortcake desserts that I was wanting. There was also a problem with the cleanliness of the plates at the salad bar. There was residue on several of the plates, probably too packed in the dishwasher. Just had to be aware and look for a clean plate before getting seconds. Normally that would've been a deal breaker but in my old age I've learned to let go of the little things and focus on the positive. We'll be back for breakfast. read more

I haven't eaten at a sizzler in 30 years. They are no longer located on the East Coast. I happened upon this one in Fresno. Holy smokes! Bring sizzler back to the East Coast. This place was immaculate. The food was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The salad bar was very neat and tidy and contained appetizing foods. We had the $12 lunch all you can eat salad bar. Others in our group had the burger and a chicken sandwich. Our group of five all agreed that sizzler needs to bring back their restaurants to the East Coast. Salad bars should come back! read more
