This restaurant knows how to make a mean steak. Seasoned to perfection and actually cooked the way you want it. The best is their dry aged prime and it's worth every penny of it. The dry aged adds such an umami depth of flavor to the meat with the subtle garlic and rosemary aroma infused through the butter that it's cooked in. Couldn't ask for more! Actually you can! The best pairing with their steak has to be the top 3 sides here. Hatched chili Mac and cheese, buttery mashed potatoes, and grilled sourdough! The Mac was smooth and creamy, but that hatched chili that added a subtle back of the throat heat is such a nice added touch! Self explanatory on the butter mashed potatoes, who could resist? The grilled sourdough was perfectly toasted and buttery and it came with 3 toppings, for me is the aioli to spread. I REALLY WANT TO MAKE THIS A 5! But there is just one miss here. The 4 mentioned were the most recommended by staff and from Yelp. AS YOU SHOULD! It is definitely what to order. I recently moved back to the area and wanted to have a really nice meal. Plus needed a secondary bday meal for my husband. So we decided to return to 13 Prime. It was easy to get a reservation which was a great start and they accommodated us wanting a booth. From the moment we arrived the service and attentive staff were noticeable. Everything was done with ease and no request was unfulfilled. This was pretty impressive considering I just spent double the amount recently at a Bay Area restaurant with horrible service. The atmosphere was relaxed and we enjoyed the background music which almost had a clubbing vibe. I only wish the table was slightly bigger, but that's my only complaint, which really is not worth mentioning. The food was fantastic. Not one item we ordered was mediocre, everything was bursting with flavor and the portions were quite generous. We started with the lobster bites, we had the wedge and Caesar salad to follow, and our main course was the masterpiece Tomahawk steak. We added the grits and asparagus for sides, but if I just had the steak it would have been sufficient. I didn't want to leave without having the bread pudding so we went all in and ordered it, as well as the crème brûlée. Both fantastic but the bread pudding was the star, especially with the added side scoop of vanilla ice cream. Final shout out is for our server who I believe was Blake. He paced the meal perfectly and always knew when to check-in and make sure we were satisfied. Traveling for work in the area, I was looking for a nice steakhouse and came across 13 Prime. The location is a bit unassuming -- it's next to a children's play park inside a gymnasium complex -- not exactly what you picture when you think "steakhouse," but we decided to give it a shot. We arrived around 6:45 PM without reservations for four and were seated right away, which was great. Initially, they placed us at a center table right next to the swinging kitchen door. With staff constantly going in and out, it wasn't the most relaxing spot. We asked to move to a booth, and they accommodated us without hesitation, which we appreciated. Maybe for a restaurant in that area this is considered a really good place, but in my opinion of a steakhouse, I thought it was OK. If steak is your thing, I highly recommend this restaurant. The filet Diane literally melts in your mouth. I suggest starting with the crispy lobster appetizer, it has a little spice, but the sweetness balances it perfectly. If you love lobster, the lobster pasta is a must. It's rich, buttery, and absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits, which I wasn't sure about at first, but the flavors were spot on. Dessert was also very good. The only downside is that it can be a bit noisy. If you prefer a quieter setting, ask to be seated in the back room or on the outdoor patio. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We typically go to Fleming's for their Tomahawk Tuesday which feels like a can't beat deal, but decided to come try the weeknight special here instead. We had reservations for a Tuesday night and were seated promptly. It was pretty busy but it didn't hinder our service at all. Our server was fine, but the busser was really on it. Anyways, as mentioned we came to try their weeknight date night special or whatever it was, but apparently they don't do it anymore! Our server mentioned it's only sometimes but I wish they'd update when that was on their website or Instagram page. We went ahead and got the tomahawk med rare to share anyway with the mash potatoes and mac and cheese. The tomahawk came out cut into 4 giant pieces which was a little annoying to get through. It was cooked well and tasted fine though. The mash potatoes were a 10/10 for me. Perfectly creamy and garlicky. Super smooth if you like a chunkier mash this isn't for you. The Mac and cheese was a bit underwhelming. I felt like the hatch chile carried most of the taste and it basically tasted like nothing else after. They will let you pick a dessert off the menu for your birthday which is pretty sweet. We got the peanut butter pie and it was delicious. Highlight of the night for me honestly. Always amazing service! It's top tier if you're asking me. This restaurant provides high quality steak and service. As soon as you walk in the door you're greeted by a staff member and say son to one of their beautiful tables. I've been here a handful of times and each time I'm blown away. We were celebrating a birthday and our server was so nice and on top of her game. We did order a few appetizers and served a sourdough loaf with butter. Of course if you like a good cocktail this is the spot to try them out. I ordered the seafood of the day and it made my eyes close, it was so delicious I finished my meal pretty fast. The salad was underwhelming, especially since the croutons were so soggy and cold. Since it was a group dinner, they said all steaks would come medium, even though I asked for medium rare. The service is always great, and the food is even better. This visit, we ordered the sweet potato appetizer which was a new item; I wasn't overwhelmed but they weren't bad. For the entrees, I ordered the Filet Diane and my husband had the Black Coffee Rubbed Rib Eye - 10/10. We ordered a couple cocktails before a bottle of wine. First time eating at 13 Prime on April 18, for our 17th anniversary. Reservation at 5:30, we were seated as soon as we walked in. Our server was Frankie, took time to explain the menu and recommended a couple different drinks for my wife. Both were great!! Appetizer we ordered the calimari with olive tapenade. The calimari was tender, fried perfectly, and the tartar sauce was fresh. Our entrees were steak Diane and crispy lemon chicken. The steak was cooked perfectly, garlic mashed potatoes flavorful and creamy. The lemon chicken pasta was also fantastic, you could taste the lemon throughput but wasn't overly lemony. Sun was behind the building, no long sleeve needed but by the time the food came weather was cooling off so food with any fat was congealing after 10 min. It wasn't bad and doesn't matter. The sides were creamy spinach and potato au gratin. Must be a restaurant thing for the creams to be orangey for both the cream spinach and the potato au gratin. Both were ok. I'd say my potato au gratin is 4/5 compared to this one. And the cream, cheese and butter I used made it a beautiful golden nor orangey. Five Stars - Our New Favorite Steakhouse! We celebrated our four-year wedding anniversary at 13 Prime Steak (Willow & Nees in Fresno), and it couldn't have been more perfect. First, a big shout-out to Joseph, the manager. This was our first time here, and after I left a message after hours, he called me back right away to secure our reservation. He truly went above and beyond to make our evening special. Our server, Ben, was incredibly efficient, professional, and attentive. And Ryan, our busser, deserves special recognition--so polite, kind, and great with people. He has an amazing gift for customer service, and I hope they promote or train him as a server soon. Next time we come, I'll definitely be asking for Ryan to serve our table. Now for the food--wow! We started with warm garlic herb bread and butter that was just heavenly. Our main course was the tomahawk steak, cooked medium rare--perfectly seasoned, beautifully seared, and so tender it literally melted in my mouth. If the tomahawk was this tender, I can only imagine how incredible their filet mignon must be! For dessert, we indulged in the chocolate espresso cake and the crème brûlée, both topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream--absolutely divine. And as a special anniversary surprise, Joseph and the team brought out a beautiful Capri peanut butter cake with whipped cream, caramel, chocolate drizzle, and a candle. I did order the dry aged ribeye, a bit tough and overcooked. (I'm assuming it was tough because it was over cooked to medium well when I requested for medium rare but no worries.) Tomahawk was good, average. But I don't think I would spend $120+ again for something that's average again. Thick pieces, accurate to size/ounces. There's not much I can say but, it was just steak.
