Crème brûlée
Sokha L.

Traveling for work in the area, I was looking for a nice steakhouse and came across 13 Prime. The location is a bit unassuming -- it's next to a children's play park inside a gymnasium complex -- not exactly what you picture when you think "steakhouse," but we decided to give it a shot. We arrived around 6:45 PM without reservations for four and were seated right away, which was great. Initially, they placed us at a center table right next to the swinging kitchen door. With staff constantly going in and out, it wasn't the most relaxing spot. We asked to move to a booth, and they accommodated us without hesitation, which we appreciated. Maybe for a restaurant in that area this is considered a really good place, but in my opinion of a steakhouse, I thought it was OK. So in general, I would give it a three star but for the area I'm sure they would consider it a four star or five star. They definitely had $$$ prices.

I really enjoyed my first experience here! I did not get a photo of the drinks but they were so good. Espresso martini is perfect and they had a seasonal sour that was so good too! I went with a couple friends and we all shared several dishes Lobster bites Carpaccio Fried chicken salad Mac & cheese Salmon Cheesecake for dessert Service was good, almost too good...we had people checking in on us what seemed like every 3 min...felt like we were being rushed a bit. But at least they were attentive! Vibe inside is nice, will definitely come back in future.

Lobster ravioli, delicious!

If steak is your thing, I highly recommend this restaurant. The filet Diane literally melts in your mouth. I suggest starting with the crispy lobster appetizer, it has a little spice, but the sweetness balances it perfectly. If you love lobster, the lobster pasta is a must. It's rich, buttery, and absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits, which I wasn't sure about at first, but the flavors were spot on. Dessert was also very good. The only downside is that it can be a bit noisy. If you prefer a quieter setting, ask to be seated in the back room or on the outdoor patio. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They also have a large bar with seating if that's your thing, though it was a little too loud for me. Overall, the food is amazing. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Trust me!

We came by to celebrate my birthday and it was a fairly good experience. We typically go to Fleming's for their Tomahawk Tuesday which feels like a can't beat deal, but decided to come try the weeknight special here instead. We had reservations for a Tuesday night and were seated promptly. It was pretty busy but it didn't hinder our service at all. Our server was fine, but the busser was really on it. Anyways, as mentioned we came to try their weeknight date night special or whatever it was, but apparently they don't do it anymore! Our server mentioned it's only sometimes but I wish they'd update when that was on their website or Instagram page. We went ahead and got the tomahawk med rare to share anyway with the mash potatoes and mac and cheese. The tomahawk came out cut into 4 giant pieces which was a little annoying to get through. It was cooked well and tasted fine though. The mash potatoes were a 10/10 for me. Perfectly creamy and garlicky. Super smooth if you like a chunkier mash this isn't for you. The Mac and cheese was a bit underwhelming. I felt like the hatch chile carried most of the taste and it basically tasted like nothing else after. They will let you pick a dessert off the menu for your birthday which is pretty sweet. We got the peanut butter pie and it was delicious. Highlight of the night for me honestly. Overall, it was a nice time. I wasn't blown away with the entire experience but would not be opposed to coming back for a nice dinner.

Always amazing service! It's top tier if you're asking me. This restaurant provides high quality steak and service. As soon as you walk in the door you're greeted by a staff member and say son to one of their beautiful tables. I've been here a handful of times and each time I'm blown away. We were celebrating a birthday and our server was so nice and on top of her game. We did order a few appetizers and served a sourdough loaf with butter. Of course if you like a good cocktail this is the spot to try them out. I ordered the seafood of the day and it made my eyes close, it was so delicious I finished my meal pretty fast. I do love how open and spacious it is along with the lighting that sets it to be relaxing and calm. I highly recommend making a reservation because they do get a lot of big parties and plus we're at the time of year where people are having birthdays and work parties.

After our anniversary dinner I forgot just how good this place was. So worth it!! Exemplary service and I loved how everyone communicated so well to be so attentive. The food more than matched the service and I couldn't be happier with everything. I will say that the first time we went it was pretty dark in there but this time the lighting was PERFECT!! Definitely earned a spot on my top 5!

Celebrated mom's birthday here and absolutely loved it! The ambiance is so beautiful, romantic and very serene. This is definitely a great place for special occasions as well as anytime you're craving a delicious steak. Everything was cooked perfectly and the server was very kind and attentive. One of the best steakhouses in town!!

House salad was not memorable. The croutons were soggy and did not taste freshly made
Nicole L.

Came for another presentation so dinner was paid for. The bruschetta was delicious and the shrimp cocktail was just average. The salad was underwhelming, especially since the croutons were so soggy and cold. Since it was a group dinner, they said all steaks would come medium, even though I asked for medium rare. Mine came out closer to medium, but my friend next to me got a medium rare piece. I guess it's harder for them to adjust the doneness of steaks for a large group? The green beans were not all cooked properly, some were undercooked and hard. The mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful. The crème brûlée was perfection! Service was fast & efficient. Decor is beautiful as always; I enjoyed the winter themed decor.

We came to 13 prime to celebrate our three year anniversary, per usual everything was amazing. Everyone was so attentive and welcoming and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We had the norm the coffee rub ribeye, the fillet Diane, the Besame Mucho and Mezcal old-fashioned and this time we tried a new dessert the peanut butter pie. It was so good. It was a lot for two people, but we ate most of it, my favorite restaurant I will be back soon.

Don't let the fact that this restaurant is in a strip mall fool you - 13 Prime is one of the top steakhouses in town. It is our go-to special occasion place. The service is always great, and the food is even better. This visit, we ordered the sweet potato appetizer which was a new item; I wasn't overwhelmed but they weren't bad. For the entrees, I ordered the Filet Diane and my husband had the Black Coffee Rubbed Rib Eye - 10/10. We ordered a couple cocktails before a bottle of wine. I don't remember the name of my drink, but I didn't really like it. My husband liked his Old Fashioned. When it came time for dessert, we ordered the bread pudding and a slice of the pumpkin cheesecake to go for the kiddos to enjoy. The bread pudding was amazing - super dense and delicious. The kids apparently loved the cheesecake because it was gone in a flash.

The food was amazing we had the chef special Filet Diane. 8oz filet that was so melt in your mouth tender. It came with garlic mashed potatoes, green beans (cooked perfectly) and carrots. We had a salad hubby had a wedge and I had Fall Salad. It had savory pecans and fresh pears. Dessert was a peanut butter pie to die for! The vibe is date night dim and fairly quiet. Christian was our waiter and he was phenomenal!

Definitely enjoyed the experience and food. Bread putting and mushroom pasta appetizer was delicious. The highlights of this dinner. Definitely worth it. Steak was good. Not sure it is $70 good. Maybe like $40. Dont know what it would take to make it worth the price tag. Overall great experience. Would visit again.

Made reservations for a Saturday night. We definitely were late by maybe 10 mins? They had given our table away, which is fine. It was our fault anyways but regardless of being late they sat us rather quickly just outdoors on their patio section. Thankful it wasn't that hot. We got to watch all the bikers/walkers do the trail back there. No loud music, more intimate setting. It was good. It was our first time there and it will definitely not be our last. The steaks are probably one of the better steaks I've had in Fresno. Even when I took my leftover steak home and ate it the next day it was still moist and tender. (5/5) Hatch chile Mac and cheese: delicious. So, so good. It wasn't spicy at all. Had a whisper of pepper in it. Super creamy and good. (5/5) Garlic mashed potatoes: Standard. Good. Light on the garlic taste. (4/5) Beef carpaccio: really good. I don't know what sauce they put on it but it definitely makes the dish. (5/5) Overall, I'd definitely come back. Maybe when it's a bit cooler outside. The experience was nice. Food was delicious.

Parking is exactly what you'd expect for downtown, so just make sure you lock your car and don't leave anything visible. We went around 5 PM on a Thursday. It started fairly quiet and gradually got busier throughout the evening, but it never felt overcrowded. They do have a rule that if there's a waitlist, your time may be limited to about two hours so they can seat other guests, which is reasonable for a place like this. The drinks were fantastic. I honestly didn't have a bad drink all night. They offer cold drinks, room temperature drinks, hot drinks, and just about every type of spirit you can think of. The cocktails are very creative, and the bartenders will actually warn you ahead of time if a drink has flavors they think you might not like, which I appreciated. The bartenders were excellent and really knew what they were doing. We had a spicy margarita, mojito, whiskey smash, an ube cocktail, and a few others, and all of them were great. Prices were fair for the quality, creativity, and overall experience. Not cheap, but definitely not overpriced either. One thing I really respected was that they had Narcan and fentanyl test strips available on-site. You don't see that often, and it shows they actually care about people's safety. If you're looking for craft cocktails in Fresno, this place is definitely worth visiting. I'll definitely be coming back.

We had no idea what to expect, but it ended up being such a fun night. There were five of us in our bay, and from the start the staff was super attentive. Since it was our first visit, they walked us through how everything worked and made sure we were comfortable using the system. We had a couple small hiccups figuring things out, but every time someone came by, they checked in, helped us out, and made sure we were good. The bay system itself is really cool lots of sensors and very interactive. That first swing is a little intimidating because you're not sure how hard to hit or where the ball will go, but once you realize you can swing freely and the system tracks everything, it's actually a blast. We ordered food, and honestly, sometimes bar-style places are hit or miss with food but not here. Everything was really good. We ordered sliders, onion rings, bruschetta, and it all came out hot and tasty. My daughter also ordered about three or four Shirley Temples and everyone kept checking in on refills and food. We had the bay for an hour we did not know what to expect but we could have booked it for more time! During our hour were given a heads-up when we had about 10 minutes left, which we appreciated. We actually went a little over while waiting for help moving our food to the dine-in area, and they were very kind about it no rushing us at all. After the bay, we moved to the dine-in area, finished eating, and chatted with our server, who was incredibly friendly and genuinely excited about the place. He explained memberships, told us about the upstairs lounge, and even allowed us to glance around. The upstairs area overlooks the bays and bar and would be great for events or just hanging out it's a really nice setup. The space itself is deceiving from the outside. It looks small, but once you're inside, it's very spacious with deep bays and plenty of room. Noise level was perfect not too loud, music was at a great volume, and we could easily talk, order food, and enjoy the experience. They also host games and fights, with TVs at the bar. As we were leaving, the kids tried the putting area, which was another fun surprise. It has laser-style visuals that show where your ball is going, and they loved it. We probably spent another 10 minutes there just letting them enjoy it. Overall, from the games to the food to the service, everything was excellent. We left with leftovers, happy kids, and a great experience. It's been a long time since we've had service this attentive, and we truly appreciated it. We'll definitely be back. Additionally the decor and vibe is really nice inside! Classy upscale location.
