What the heck...I've been coming to this place since 2000. I'm going to give it a 4 because I'm guessing the gross/burnt Apps we had was a fluke. Always a cool relaxed vibe. Of course I'll be back! Its more about the atmosphere...hoping they don't start to let that slip too.

Pretty good place with great drinks . Sit out side . It was ants on the table but food was really good and come out hot. I would definitely have a better sign outside. Easy to drive pass.

Phenomenal food and service...we have always wondered but never wandered and time well it tick-tocks away. This is an absolutely fabulous experience, the ambience is relaxing with a touch of old world flair. The food is plentiful and savory the wine list pairs perfectly with the menu. As you can tell from the picture i made it halfway through the plate (just to be sure) prior to posting. Highly recommend

Came for my friends birthday dinner. Our servers were very attentive and kind. They kept checking on us. I ordered the chicken mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was delicious!

There's a lot to like about Veni Vidi Vici, but there's also some things that need improvement. The food was pretty great; while the menu is fairly small, everything we tried was really yummy, with the spaghetti being particularly good. The drinks are also good, especially the Singapore sling (something that's actually hard to find, but this place does it right). Everyone else in our party also liked their food too. Finally, it was great that the patio was open. The real downside to Veni Vidi Vici is the service. First of all, it was super slow; it took forever for someone to come over to help us, a long time to get our drinks, and then even longer to put our food order in...we wanted to order earlier, but it was more than an hour after sitting down that we were able to order dinner. Our mains actually came out fairly fast after we finally ordered, but it was still almost 1:30 after sitting down. Finally, the server completely forgot what our order was when we tried to pay, and it took forever and multiple "confirmations" for them to get a correct check to us. After all of that, they had the nerve to put a 20% service charge on the bill (we did have a large group, but with that service, 20% was not appropriate). While I really like the food here, I'm not so sure I would come back because of how lousy the service was.

Set in the heart of Tower District, I am used to coming here for drinks so it was fun to come for dinner for my friend's birthday. It's a low lit industrialish vibe inside and the bartender/server was attentive. Their menu offerings are clearly thought out and higher end. I got a sausage ravioli that was outstanding. The sauce was rich and the dish filled me up easily with eating only half of it. I would love to go back and try a couple other things, everything people got looked so good!

Second time here for dinner and it didn't disappoint. After having some issues with a reservation elsewhere, I was so thrilled they were able to quickly accommodate our group of three on a busy Saturday night. Loves the pre dinner bread, pretty sure it was sour dough. Menu was good, I went with a burger and fries ($22) and my two friends did shrimp pasta ($36) and the salmon rigatoni ($39). Definitely on the more pricey side but I must say, huge portion sizes! If I went back I would definitely consider sharing a plate. We each had a drink as well, I did the spicy cucumber margarita which honestly wasn't my favorite but not bad either. I was so giddy when they brought me out a delicious brownie with ice cream for a birthday treat! Overall great experience, would love to come back in the future! Overall

But while the food was delicious as usual, everything else was surprisingly mediocre. Despite not being busy when we arrived, we had to wait over an hour for our food and watched while other couples received theirs and ate before us, despite coming in 15-20 minutes later than us. And even though it all tasted great, my food was cold, as if it had been sitting for a while. We were told a couple of large to-go orders came in that disrupted the timing of our food, but in reality, it seems like our order got lost in the mix. It finally came 70 minutes after we arrived, and I was surprised that when my partner asked for a refill of their tea (which they naturally finished well before our food came), they charged them for a second drink and didn't even offer to comp the refill for the long delay. I don't expect freebies when I go out, but it just seemed like we were more of an inconvenience to them than anything. It's unfortunate because their food is always great and I want to see them continue to succeed, especially during this difficult time with road construction outside. But this was a pretty frustrating experience, and will unfortunately make me hesitant to dine-in again in the near future.

It wasn't clear walking in that you order at the bar and that it isn't full service. As in no sign or staff guiding people in. For big groups, please all get there together, with how ordering is if people keep joining the group while some are ordering it makes a 5 minute process 20+ (I'm talking groups of 8+) They ran out of French toast by 1130am. Breakfast was good but not quite the level I expected from Cracked Pepper based on dinner experiences. Maybe we didn't order the right things? The bagel sandwich looked a bit simple but did taste good. All American breakfast was a bit small for the price but the bacon was delicious. Would have loved a muffin or toast with it to get really honest. People that ordered after us got drinks and food after us. That was disappointing to see especially when black coffee took longer than bar drinks. I think a lot of this was maybe just kinks still being worked out so I hope maybe going in a few months things will be smoother?

But there was something we had not considered, we were going to be going to a place that required us to be fresh and ready to receive the wonder of place by a lack and we only had the energy for an angry stop at a gas station. So this place I visited when I was tired and that kind of gunked up the experience. If I would have gone with more energy to fully open my eyes than this experience would have been wondrous. When I booked the reservation I did it because it was a place by a lake. I enjoy water front dining and I usually use an ocean for scenery and today I was in a place where I could use a large creek. And since I was not going with any specific expectations that lake hit me like a bucket of wow. I remember like seeing the mouth of the lake going down like actual rocks. Like I was seeing the waters that people raft on with commitment to the outdoors. It felt like I had traveled into a place where trees were purest, bird melodies were the only noise in town (besides the water running in the creek), and cabins belonged to those who called the mountains home. I was in a novel and for some reason I felt like it was written by Twain. And that is really what I can say about this place. That is mostly what I remember the beauty of the creek. I wanted to spend more time there, I could have walked it, they had like a lounge but I did not. But I do remember the forested view that went on, and the roaring, jagged leg being a central character other than that I have small things to say. I remember the salad being ok. Denise and I shared a dish, I can't remember why but we did not eat the whole thing. It was inherently bad. But this could have been an off night, or just not the dish of the place, and really you go here for the lake, and the food was great in some ways just not in this specific way. I went to this place a few weeks ago, and, if I had not make it clear I remember the experience of being with the lake. So go here for that experience and let the rest just fall into place.

Drinks were good. Additional note: having bathroom lights that are on sensors, don't work well for people in stalls. Having to sit in a dark restroom while using the facilities is not an enjoyable experience. Two stars because the overall vibe is decent and drinks are good.
