    Arrived!!
    Ashley L.

4/16/26 Been pretty excited about this one!! Now it's on the Hot and New list! Awesome!! Ended up disappointed. Parking is an issue. You have to pay for it too. Cant imagine what it would be like on a busy night... Arrived and greeted. Sat at the bar. Given a menu. 1 side is food and the other is drinks. Not much variety of reds. The worker had no idea what reds were available and acted clueless. I asked what kind of red was on the menu and she had no idea. Just brought what they had. The actual bottles to show me. Opted out.... Nice environment, music playing and nice bar. Decided to take it to-go! Pretty good selection of very different meal options. Looking... Ended up trying and getting one of the bartenders attention. Ordered the Caribbean Chicken Sando. Something different. Ordered it with a side salad and to-go. The worker was kind and said it's good. Paid for it and given a buzzer to go off when it's ready and told I need to go outside to pick it up at the food truck. Hmm....different. She did get me an ice water and that was appreciated. After sitting at the bar, weather is nice, decided to go outside to check it out. Very nice! Better! Lots of searing and obviously, the food truck. All food is made there. About another 5 minutes and the chef actually brought the order to me. Sitting at the deck. Very kind with well wishes! Took it and headed out with another kind worker loading stuff and wished a good day too!! Lunchtime! Caribbean Chicken Sando was good. Wished it wasn't burnt, but still had a tasty Caribbean flavor. Nice change. The salad was Very plain. Just lettuce, onion and tomato. Nothing else. Too plain! It was fresh. The service was Good! The lunch was okay. If it wasn't burnt, I think it would've been really good! At least, not ALL of it was burnt. Definitely a nice atmosphere! Wishing them the best!!

My husband and I checked out Moses McQueens this evening, a Tuesday. There was a big sports group there playing trivia. They have a really cool outside area in the back (actually also a cool front street facing patio to sit). As you've probably heard, this is a remodeled old house and they did a gorgeous job of it, inside and out. After checking ID with security, you can enter the property through a path to the backyard. We went up through the front door instead. The bar is in the front room when you enter. There was a small line and it didn't really seem to be moving. So we went outside to the food truck. We ordered the collard greens salad and the pineapple lemon pepper wings. It seemed there was a window outside where you could order drinks but it wasn't clear and also had a small line that didn't seem to be moving so we didn't bother checking it out. There were no available seats outside so went back inside where there were a few tables. There seemed to be a line at the far right end of the bar so my husband got in. But as I was waiting at our table it seemed like bartenders were also serving people sitting/standing at the bar so I got behind someone, hoping I'd get served earlier than my hubby. The bartenders were really personable and genuine and obviously experienced. I was trying to figure out why things were going so slow. I think maybe they were new to the bar set up, there seemed frequent questions among them where things were, misplacing items like caps, corkscrews, etc. I ordered two South of Shaw beers on tap but they only had enough for one so I had the Rich Girl cocktail instead. It was delicious! Our buzzer went off that our food was ready - love those. My salad was really good: the collards were fresh but tender. Whatever the chef is doing with those: well done and thank you! The corn bread croutons were stale but everything else was so good. I added grilled chicken and that was really flavorful, teriyaki flavor a bit but not exactly. Tasty anyway, I'm glad I added it. The wings were salty and we really shouldn't have tried a new combination. It was salty and didn't really work. The pickled veggies that came with the order were *really* good, though. We thought we added bread pudding to our order when the worker asked if We Wanted anything else but when I picked up the order they had no record of it - boo. I wanted to check our receipt but we weren't given one - also boooo. I bumped up my preferred 3.5 stars because overall three stars wasn't fair.

First off I just want to say that I love this gem! The whole vibe was immaculate. Secondly, I can't give enough credit to Moe, I really hope y'all cherish her as much as I did! A true gem who has 10/10 customer service skills. She literally made our experience here 10x better. Honestly, I'd come back solely to interact with her because that's how much of an imprint she left. Cat fish tacos are the way to go, but get there early because they definitely sold out!

In case you forget it used to be a house.

Stopped in here for a Bourdain Day last Wednesday and we absolutely made the right choice to check out this new spot. Since it was Wednesday at lunch time, they weren't remotely crowded, so we sat right in the middle of the bar and got great service the whole time. We always had at least 2 bartenders checking in on us. The vibes are immaculate and they even have a living room area with a couch, coffee table, and plenty of comfy chairs for conversation areas. Considering it used to be a house, it is a little funny that all the food is cooked in a stationary food truck outside, plus the bathrooms are in a building at the back of the property. They're nice though, even have AC. The food was pretty darn good and very affordable. Who knew plantains could be that delicious? Also very good burgers, especially considering they're only $11. $14 if you want a side. But still, other burger places charge $18 or more for something that's not any better, so this is a steal. Lastly, the drinks. All really tasty and well crafted, but maybe could stand to be stronger. Again, they're decently priced though so it's a balance. My spouse stuck to their beer selection & they had some interesting stuff you don't see anywhere else, but none of the ABV is listed on the chalkboard or menu, so you have to look it up. Plus it was a limited selection. He had 4 drinks and pretty much expended all the options they had available that seemed worth trying. Considering these are my only downsides, I'd say this place is a slam dunk. I look forward to coming back, maybe for a cross stitch session on the couch, who knows?

The catfish tacos were delicious. They have a crisp texture, the mango salsa was good, there is a kick of spice but not too spicy. The atmosphere is very laid back and cute for being in the back. Service was great. Overall highly recommend

Great atmosphere. Great staff. Amazing Micheladas. My new watering hole for sure. Come by for a great experience and time.

Not much better than two Pacifico Micheladas on the patio on a breezy Sunday afternoon.

After checking out from the DoubleTree Hotel this place is a nice and easy 2 minute walk becoming our new staycation weekend get away. More to explore.

Went shortly after their opening for lunch. Was excited because so many people have been raving about this. Service was so slow despite not having a lot of people there, you order your food from the food truck and wait until it's ready. Drinks were also very slow, to add on to that the cups were dirty. Instead of six wings we got 5. Dessert was also slow. Mocktails were expensive and not a lot served even though it was a mocktail. It gets two starts because right at the end a gentlemen came up to us asking how service was and the place is pretty. Despite all this, I do plan on returning since it had just opened, I could see this more of a hang out and beers. Hopefully service and food improves.

Concept is cool, very vibey. However, service was so bad. It was not that busy, which is important to note because I understand busy places tend to have longer wait times, etc. But it was NOT busy!!! Still waited around 30 minutes to be helped at the bar. Even after ordering took another 20 to get the drink. Even ppl who were just ordering beer? Very disappointed bc I thought this was the new spot. Food was yummy though I guess

It wasn't clear walking in that you order at the bar and that it isn't full service. As in no sign or staff guiding people in. For big groups, please all get there together, with how ordering is if people keep joining the group while some are ordering it makes a 5 minute process 20+ (I'm talking groups of 8+) They ran out of French toast by 1130am. Breakfast was good but not quite the level I expected from Cracked Pepper based on dinner experiences. Maybe we didn't order the right things? The bagel sandwich looked a bit simple but did taste good. All American breakfast was a bit small for the price but the bacon was delicious. Would have loved a muffin or toast with it to get really honest. People that ordered after us got drinks and food after us. That was disappointing to see especially when black coffee took longer than bar drinks. I think a lot of this was maybe just kinks still being worked out so I hope maybe going in a few months things will be smoother?

The restaurant has an upscale gastropub vibe with a great ambiance. We sat indoors, but the outdoor seating looked just as inviting. Everything felt very well put together, clean, and well maintained--even the restrooms stood out in that regard. There's also plenty of parking since it's located within a complex, which is always a plus. Our server, Ky, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm definitely looking forward to coming back.

I had made a reservation for my mom and I to come by while I was on a work trip. The prime rib was perfectly rare, had a nice seasoned bark, and tender, served with a healthy amount of creamy horseradish on the side. The green beans were obviously fresh and firm, plus were well seasoned. My mom was late to the dinner so the staff did continue to check on my while I was waiting for her. I had a Peruvian dish called the Lima Saltaldo and he had the Prime Rib with green beans and mash potatoes. For dessert we had the Crème Brûlée. One thing to note is if you order your steak make sure you ordered it a temp above how you like it. For example if you like Medium Rare order it medium. Apparently they cook their steak a step down. My husband eats his steak medium rare and they brought it out rare. He wasn't thrilled about that, but said the meal was still good.
